STS #133 – Bought Borrowed & Bagged #83

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  you will be reading soon. Bought Borrowed and Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from KMM’ Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe. Without further ado, here’s what I bought, borrowed or bagged this past week:

Night Shift cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsNight Shift (Midnight, Texas #3) by Charlaine Harris – thank you, Berkley Publishing Group and Netgalley!

At Midnight’s local pawnshop, weapons are flying off the shelves—only to be used in sudden and dramatic suicides right at the main crossroads in town.
Who better to figure out why blood is being spilled than the vampire Lemuel, who, while translating mysterious texts, discovers what makes Midnight the town it is. There’s a reason why witches and werewolves, killers and psychics, have been drawn to this place.
And now they must come together to stop the bloodshed in the heart of Midnight. For if all hell breaks loose—which just might happen—it will put the secretive town on the map, where no one wants it to be…

Wicked Burn cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsWicked Burn (Realm Enforcers #3) by Rebecca Zanetti – Thank you, Kensington Books and Netgalley!

Simone Brightston knows she can beat the rap her enemies are pinning on her. An Irish witch is nobody’s fool, and she didn’t get to her position on the high council without serious power. But her cousins want her to hide out—and they somehow convinced her arch nemesis to play getaway driver.
Of all the men she’s known, Nikolaj Veis is the hardest to intimidate. With his demon-dark eyes and his inscrutable beauty, he’s as desirable as he is dangerous. And he knows better than to underestimate Simone. So when he pulls up on a roaring bike and tells her to climb on or fight it out, she grabs a handful of jacket and holds on tight. Running from the law may not be the smartest plan. But when it comes to Nick, hot pursuit and a blazing fast ride are exactly what Simone’s looking for . . .

Kat Fight cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsKat Fight by Dina Silver

The seriously funny, fabulously flawed Kat Porter has arrived, and she may just steal your heart—not to mention your boyfriend. Readers everywhere will revel in this sharp-witted, well-meaning whirlwind in author Dina Silver’s hilarious new novel, Kat Fight. In her quest for love, Kat makes every wrong turn, juggling two men, one best friend, and her own deeply confused heart’s desires.
Kat Porter is a consummate romantic, eager for her chance to find love and commitment. But after her boyfriend of four years, Marc, begins to grow apathetic and sends her calls straight to voicemail one too many times, Kat finally musters the courage to confront her so-called sweetheart, who seems more interested in dodging her than courting her. Though she’s no fan of ultimatums, Kat is at the end of her considerable wits, and lobs a massive one his way, completely confident that he’ll make the right decision when faced with losing her. He doesn’t.
With radio silence from Marc, Kat’s lifelong dream of finding a husband and forging a family is decidedly on the skids. That’s when her childhood friend Julie steps in, forcing Kat on a blind date to help her move beyond the break-up. Not only does Kat botch the setup, she instead finds herself in hot pursuit of Julie’s love interest, Ryan Sullivan. A man who, in addition to literally taking her breath away, is the living, breathing personification of everything Kat wants in a husband.
Can Kat connect with the man of her dreams without hurting two of the people she cares most about? At the same time, she must also contend with the quips of her beloved catty coworker Adam, her bi-polar boss Brooke, and a string of comic, unpredictable plot twists. All the while, Kat’s cheeky perspective and generous heart will leave readers adoring every moment of her journey while chuckling and cheering for the ever cute, razor-sharp Kat as she fights to land the love of a lifetime.

The Raven King cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsThe Raven King (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater

The fourth and final installment in the spellbinding series from the irrepressible, #1 New York Times bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater.
All her life, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love’s death. She doesn’t believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem, but as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

  1. I can’t remember the last time I was on Netgalley! I just can’t bear the thought of going back to reading to deadlines and getting stressed about getting books read as the deadline gets closer! Maybe I’ll go back on when my tbr is more under control! Enjoy your books!

    • LOL I actually don’t always respect the ‘deadlines’ or the release dates, Chuckles. I don’t want to get stressed either. I do keep a list though, just so that I know – but I continue to read based on my mood anyway.

  2. OOoh nice! I still need to start Charlaine’s new series!! I have the books, just gotta work in that first one in my queue it seems! LOL! Hope you enjoy all your awesome new reads!!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

I have been debating on the Midnight, Texas series since the first book came out. I may have to grab the first 2 from the library. Hope you love all of these!

  4. These all look good, Lexxie! I really need to read the Charlaine Harris series. I needed a break from her after the way the Sookie series ended but I think I am ready to read her work again. I need to read Zanetti as well. I have quite a few of her books to read right now. Enjoy all of your new books!

  5. I have the first book from both Charlaine Harris’ Midnight Series and Maggie Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle Series, but didn’t have a chance to read either of them yet.

    Great haul! Happy Reading!!

  6. I still want to start that series by Charlaine Harris as I heard good things about it. Are you enjoying it so far? And I’ve heard of Rebecca Zanetti, but haven’t read any of her books. kat Fight sounds like a fun one, haven’t heard of that one before. Everyone seems to love the Raven Cycle series, I might pick it up eventually. Great haul Lexie!

  7. Is that Ford I see on the cover for Wicked Burn?!? 😉 Great haul, my dear. I happen to have Kat Fight sitting on my shelf collecting dust. Perhaps we can buddy read??
    **BIG HUGS**

  8. Is Charlaine Harris’ Midnight series kind of like Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson series? I’m so hooked on the latter, and I’m open to discovering new addicting similarly-themed and well written series like hers. 🙂

  9. Oh damn, Mighnight Texas is already on the third book? I recieved the first one as an ARC a while back but uni kicked me in the butt. Hah.
I’m currently reading The Raven King, so excited to see how this series ends!!
