My Kind of Wonderful cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

My Kind of Wonderful (Cedar Ridge #2) by Jill Shalvis

UNEXPECTED AND UNDENIABLE…

Bailey Moore has an agenda: skiing in the Rockies, exploring castles in Europe, ballroom dancing in Argentina. Now that she has a second lease on life, she’s determined not to miss a thing. What she doesn’t realize is that item #1 comes with a six-foot-one ski god hot enough to melt a polar ice cap. She doesn’t want to miss out on him either, but Hudson Kincaid isn’t the type of guy to love and let go. And as gorgeous as Cedar Ridge is, she’s not planning to stick around.

As head of ski patrol at his family’s resort, Hud thinks he’s seen it all. But never has he run into someone like Bailey. She might look delicate, but her attitude is all firecracker. And her infectious joy touches something deep within him that he’s been missing far too long. Now he’ll just have to convince Bailey to take a chance on her biggest adventure yet . . . something rare and all kinds of wonderful.

Close Enough to Touch cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Close Enough to Touch (Jackson Hole #1) by Victoria Dahl

Can a city girl make it in the wild, wild West?

For makeup artist Grace Barrett, Hollywood isn’t the land of golden opportunity. It’s the land of difficult divas, cheating boyfriends and unemployment. So when her great-aunt offers her a free place to stay in Jackson Hole, Grace thinks she’ll spend a little time in the sticks to figure out her life, and then move somewhere exciting to live out her dreams. But it turns out that there are a few more thrills in this small town than Grace was expecting….

Cole Rawlins is a rugged Wyoming cowboy born and bred. Yet he can’t help but be drawn to the fascinating big-city girl who moves in across from him. He wants to get close enough to Grace to see past her tough facade, but if he does, she might see the real Cole. The one with a Hollywood history gone bad. As they discover a sizzling attraction, it becomes harder for him to keep his demons at bay-and those fires from long ago may burn them both.

They’ll need more than scorching-hot passion to make this opposites-attract affair work. But if they can learn to trust one another enough to reveal their secrets, they just might have a chance at forever.

    • I’m glad you enjoyed The Rest of Us Just Live Here, Stephanie. I find the concept of that story so intriguing – we almost always read about those characters who fight the monsters, so I’m looking forward to reading about the ‘normal’ people who just happen to live there 🙂

  1. Both your review books look good. Can you believe I still haven’t read either author? Some day.

YAY for a found gift card. What a nice surprise, and you got some good books, enjoy!

  2. I really enjoyed The Girl On The Train! It kept me guessing, which is unusual for a book and made it all the more enjoyable 🙂 I hope you enjoy it too. The Martian has been on my wishlist for a while, though now I’m tempted to watch the movie as it had such good reviews…but books! I’m torn hehe.

  3. I need The Martian! I loved the movie a lot! I wasn’t a big fan of The Girl on the Train since it was a tad predictable and it was slow but that was just me. Hopefully you enjoy it 🙂

  4. Jax read The Martian and loved it, Lex. I hope you do as well. 🙂 And I’m glad you gave yourself the gift of some physical books…I have to admit that holding a physical book in my hands makes me pretty happy. 😉 Ooh, I want to read The Girl on the Train myself. I’ve heard so many good things about it – I wonder how it will compare to Gone Girl… Happy reading, my friend!

    • I’m really looking forward to The Martian as well as my other physical books. I agree, holding a physical book in my hands does make me happy, it sometimes also make the muscles in my wrists hurt *grins* because I’m so used to the weight of my kindle 😀
Thanks for stopping by, my dear!
