Review: Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) – Tahereh Mafi

Unravel Me picks up just after Shatter Me finished, and Juliette has a little bit of trouble fitting in. After being shunned for so long, and then in isolation for years, she feels as if everybody is just waiting for her to screw up so they can throw her out in the cold again. She can’t believe there is truly somewhere she can belong, and when Adam starts acting strangely, she thinks it is truly the beginning of the end. When Castle tells Juliette she has to take the first step, and make some friends, she wonders how he can be so smart, and yet so naive all at the same time. Adam is really happy to be at Omega […]

Review: Influential Magic (Crescent City Fae) – Deanna Chase

*I received a free ARC of Influential Magic from Bayou Moon Press via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Influential Magic is a very refreshing paranormal urban fantasy story! There are both fairies and vampires, but they are not exactly the same as they are in other stories. Willow has some strange powers, she can transform the essence of plants, which is one of the reasons her bakery is so successful. She also can tell if a vampire is near, and more importantly, when a vampire is near, it sucks out her energy. That is one part of her power she is trying to keep secret – just as she tried to keep one of her new cakes a […]

Review: Heart of Obsidian (Psy-Changeling #12) – Nalini Singh

Review: Heart of Obsidian (Psy-Changeling #12) – Nalini Singh

Heart of Obsidian may just be my favorite book in the Psy-Changeling series. I loved learning more about Kaleb, and Sahara was totally awesome as well. The overall plot of the series moved along very nicely as well, and we even found out who the Ghost is! The intricate relationships between some of the psy and the changeling packs, as well as the war with pure-psy continued, and there were quite a few things that caught me completely off guard. Heart of Obsidian starts really strong! With Kaleb kidnapping a woman out of a high security place, and for once, he actually brings someone to his home outside of Moscow. It is unclear at first why he takes the woman, […]

Review: The Testing (The Testing #1) – Joelle Charbonneau

*I received a free ARC of The Testing from Houghton Mifflin Books for Children via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* The Testing starts with Cia’s graduation, and the hope that she will be selected for the testing in the Commonwealth’s capital Tosu City. Several of Cia’s friens think she’ll be chosen, even if it has been a long time since any student from Five Lakes has been chosen. When no government official shows up, Cia tries her best not to show her disappointment, her oldest brother Zeen understands exactly how she feels, though. The next day, a government official arrives, though, and he wants to see Cia and three other graduates from her class. Cia is elated when […]

Review: Born of Silence (The League #5) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Review: Born of Silence (The League #5) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

The League series is always filled with surprises, amazing fights and a real love story. Born of Silence follows the other books in the series, and the characters from all the other books are present in this volume, to my great delight. There were a lot of new revelations in this book, and I felt so bad for Darling, it almost hurt to read about his childhood. Then, again after he was taken by the insurgents and nobody realized who he was, I have to admit my heart was breaking into a million pieces. I don’t know how he could get through that at all. Of course, Darling wasn’t completely sane after that for quite some time, but when he […]

Review: Stolen – Shiloh Walker

Review: Stolen – Shiloh Walker

*I received a free ARC of Stolen Random House via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review* Stolen really, really freaked me out! It had me from the first sentence, and I gripped my kindle for most of the time I was reading. What I liked the most is that in all the creepiness, there was still both romance and humor present most of the time. Yes, it’s actually possible, and it was masterfully done in this novel. Very exciting, quite thrilling and more than a little creepy. Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Review: Shadow Bound (Unbound #2) – Rachel Vincent

Review: Shadow Bound (Unbound #2) – Rachel Vincent

Shadow Bound really built on the Blood Bound’s story, and the character development Kori went through was quite amazing. Of course, she was only a side character in the first book, and here, she was the heroine, but it was still easy to see how she changed, and how she became completely willing to fight for what she thought was right.   Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.
