Review: Under His Protection – Katie Reus

Review: Under His Protection – Katie Reus

Deliciously hot, Under His Protection is a quick read, with some really good characters, suspense and romance. My Under His Protection review: Even if Under His Protection is the 9th book in the Red Stone Securities series, it can be read as a stand-alone, it will not take anything away from either the story, the romance or the suspense for readers who are not familiar with the series already. I love how well both the romance and the suspense parts were done, and even if there are only 175 pages, I got to know both Ivan and Julieta well. It was obvious that Julieta has a lot of good friends, as well as a loving family. However, for a […]

Review: Taste of Darkness – Katie Reus

Review: Taste of Darkness – Katie Reus

A sexy dragon-shifter, a beautiful were-wolf, intrigue, war and betrayals, Taste of Darkness have all of that and a lot of slow romance as well. My Taste of Darkness review: Right back into the action, Taste of Darkness brought me back to a universe that is well made, with really good characters and a wolf-pack that is very different from the norm – what with the alpha married to a vampire, and the fact that they were willing and able to also help take care of a dragon shifter who had escaped from hell. Drake is confused by the world, after being brought to hell when he was only twelve, he spent the next fifteen-hundred years there. Mostly alone and […]

Review: Innocent Prey – Maggie Shayne

Review: Innocent Prey – Maggie Shayne

Another exciting, fast-paced and awesome installment in the Brown and DeLuca series – with a very nice side-dish of romance. My Innocent Prey review: WOW, let me just gather my thoughts a little bit, because Innocent Prey really took me for quite a ride! Rachel is getting more in tune with both her own self-help philosophy and her inner bitch, and that was a lot of fun to read about. She also managed to get involved in yet another investigation, while also having a little time to hang out with Mason outside of work as well. One of the things I really enjoyed about the mystery in Innocent Prey was the hush-hush around Stevie’s disappearance, plus the fact that […]

Review: As Long as You Love Me – Ann Aguirre

Review: As Long as You Love Me – Ann Aguirre

Beautiful slow-moving romance, so enticing I was aching while reading about Rob and Lauren. My As Long as You Love Me review: As Long as You Love Me managed to snag my heartstring even quicker than I Want it That Way did. Maybe because I had already met Rob and Lauren, or maybe because their interactions were so achingly sweet and tender. The story also includes another trope I absolutely adore, and that is the friends-to-lovers trope. Rob had always seen Lauren as his little sister Nadia’s best friend, and Lauren had been in love with him since she was thirteen. Now that Lauren was finally back home in Sharon, Rob was dating another girl, and there was no […]

Blogtour and Review: Outing the Quarterback – Tara Lain

Blogtour and Review: Outing the Quarterback – Tara Lain

Welcome to my stop on the Outing the Quarteback blogtour! This tour is hosted by Enchantress of Books Blogtours, and you can find the other tour-stops by clicking on the image above. My first reaction after reading this amazing story was just WOW, oh my goodness! Tara Lain has totally outdone herself – I loved Will and Noah, and Jamal and Eve were great characters, too. My Outing the Quarterback review: Secrecy, hurt and heartache are very much present in Outing the Quarterback. Will wants to be able to keep it together for just one more year until he finishes high-school, then he’ll go off and live his own dreams rather than his dad’s. Being the star quarterback, and dating […]

Review: Rock Courtship – Nalini Singh

Review: Rock Courtship – Nalini Singh

Sizzling hot, but still tender and character-driven, Rock Courtship is a beautiful story! My Rock Courtship review: YUM! and More! are the first two things that come to mind after finishing reading. I really enjoyed the story in Rock Courtship, even if Rock Addiction didn’t really do it for me, this one certainly did. Both Thea and David are really well fleshed out, and their romance was very slow-moving, at first through e-mails, memos and phone calls. All of those were hot and sexy, and at the same time, their back-and-forth let me get to know them really well. It was easy to understand both of them, and I have to say I’m happy David was so stubborn. As I […]

Review: The Devil in Denim – Melanie Scott

Review: The Devil in Denim – Melanie Scott

Fun, hot, filled with intrigue and complications, The Devil in Denim is a sporty contemporary romance with some awesome characters. My The Devil in Denim review: I fell in love with Alex from the moment he first showed up in the bar where Maggie was trying to drown all her sorrows in tequila. Even if he was the cause of her anger and heartache, his reaction to everything she threw at him was so great, I just swooned and almost let my kindle slip out from between my hands. Maggie had just had the day from hell, and it truly didn’t help her when Alex showed up while she was trying to get rid of every single memory of that […]

Review: Fix You: Bash and Olivia #2 – Christine Bell

Review: Fix You: Bash and Olivia #2 – Christine Bell

*I received a free ARC of Fix You from Christine Bell via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Tense, sad but incredibly strong, Fix You was filled with feels! My Fix You: Bash and Olivia #2 review: Olivia’s douche-bag boyfriend really showed his true colors in this story! I thought I couldn’t stand Andy in the first book, but he exceeded all my bad expectations here! Olivia had to be very strong, both because of everything going on with her parents and because Bash was taken to jail. In order to help get him out on bail, she will do whatever it takes, including pawning her jewelry, but he thinks she doesn’t want to come visit him in prison, […]

Review : A Gentleman ’til Midnight – Alison DeLaine

Review : A Gentleman ’til Midnight – Alison DeLaine

*I received a free ARC of A Gentleman ’til Midnight from Harlequin via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Fun and outrageous are just two of the words I have to describe A Gentleman ’til Midnight! Strong female lead is another. My A Gentleman ’til Midnight review: Starting with a ship closing in on a man floating on a small piece of driftwood, unconscious and seemingly still alive, A Gentleman ’til Midnight caught my full attention. Even more so when I realized the captain of the ship – which might be a pirate ship – was a woman! And at first, she didn’t want to risk hoisting a sick man aboard, even if her ship was the only one […]

Review: Resisting the Rancher – Roxanne Snopek

Review: Resisting the Rancher – Roxanne Snopek

Cute story with a nicely done friends-to-lover trope, with a little side of mystery. My Resisting the Rancher review: CeeCee is happy to be back in her home town, especially because she is finally able to open her own veterinary practice and make one of her dreams come true. Her state of bliss doesn’t last very long, however, since she starts getting threatening letters about a secret that might just be brought to light by the sender. When she realizes the threat is serious, she goes to see Jonah, who is a lawyer as well as her brother’s best friend. Resisting the Rancher is all about how CeeCee needs help, even if she kind of wishes she could ask […]
