What happens when the Gentleman of Rock decides to play dirty?

A drummer for the hottest rock band on the planet, David has a single, powerful weakness: Thea, the band's publicist and the woman who steals his breath away with her every move.

Only problem is, Thea doesn't date clients--or musicians. Emotionally scarred by a cheating ex, she's not about to risk her heart with a man who has groupies buzzing around him like flies. Even if his sexy smile ties her up in knots.

What she doesn't know is that David is a one-woman man...and he's madly in love with her. David's determined to prove he's worth the risk, and willing to court her, step by exquisite step. Thea's about to discover just how long and hard this handsome drummer can play.

Sizzling hot, but still tender and character-driven, Rock Courtship is a beautiful story!

My Rock Courtship review:

YUM! and More! are the first two things that come to mind after finishing reading. I really enjoyed the story in Rock Courtship, even if Rock Addiction didn’t really do it for me, this one certainly did. Both Thea and David are really well fleshed out, and their romance was very slow-moving, at first through e-mails, memos and phone calls. All of those were hot and sexy, and at the same time, their back-and-forth let me get to know them really well. It was easy to understand both of them, and I have to say I’m happy David was so stubborn.

As I got to know the two protagonists better, I completely fell for them both. Even if the story is quite short in Rock Courtship, it covers a lot of ground. And the fact that Thea was deeply hurt by her ex is still affecting her when David first tries to persuade her to go out with him. David is sick of being alone, and have all the groupies think they should be ‘it’ for him, though. So when Molly helps him to at least catch Thea’s attention he goes for it with all he’s got. And my, he has got it – his first memo got me all hot and bothered, and that was just him telling Thea what he wanted to do with her and to her.

Now, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next full-length novel in the Rock Kiss series, because Rock Courtship was perfectly balanced, with really good character development, some very steamy scenes, and more about the relationships between the different guys in the band. Also the relationships between Molly and Thea, two sisters who didn’t grow up together was explained well and so now, I actually feel like I know Molly a lot better than I did after finishing Rock Addiction.

If you’re looking for a short, hot read featuring a rock group, Rock Courtship is definitely for you.

Some of my favorite Rock Courtship quotes:

David just respected her, period. He wasn’t doing this on a whim or to add a notch to his belt. He was gone for her. Seriously head over heels.

Thea wouldn’t agree to be with him until she trusted him not to stomp on her heart. And the only way he could prove his faithfulness was to be with her, to show her he loved her to the point of insanity. Catch-fucking-22.

What she could’ve never predicted was that he’d have this lusciously dirty streak. It made her wonder exactly what he’d whisper in her ear if they ever end up in bed. Shivering at the thought, she started to read the memo again.

    • Silvia, you have to start reading Nalini Singh! So hot, and so well written 🙂 I would love to catch up with a lot of reads, even if I have read a lot of books this year, there are so many more I’d like to delve into.
      Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Wow! It’s rare to find sequels that are better than the first book. Most of the time, the opposite happens. I’m glad that this one redeemed the series for you. I’m glad that there are no more 24-year old virgins here who came during her first time. LOL.

And yay, stubborn males are usually sexy. <3

As I've said, I'm not going into this series without reading Guildhunter first. 😀

Fab review, Lexxie! I hope you have a good Monday!

    • LOL, 24-year-old virgins getting it on several times the first time was not very credible. Rock Courtship was amazing, though! So tender and still hot, but not too much sex either.

      Thanks for stopping by, Charlotte.

    • David and Thea’s story is awesome, Iza, and those memos *curls toes* are so hot my kindle started smoking 😉
      Thanks for stopping by.

    • Singh’s books usually have quite a lot of very hot scenes, but I love that when the story and plot around those scenes are well done. This is what she does so well (apart from in Rock Addiction…)
      Thanks for stopping by, Ebony.

  2. Wow! This sounds absolutely fantastic Lexxie! 😀 I’m not much of a NA / romance fan, but if I’m ever in the mood for something steamy, I’ll definitely know what book to pick up! 😉 Glad you found it so enjoyable and that it was even (gasp!) better then the first book – that’s always great! Thanks for sharing and, as always, BRILLIANT review! <3

    • NA can be hit of miss, for me, but I do love the intrigues and the hotness that some authors do so well 🙂 Thank sofr stopping by, Zoe!

    • Who indeed doesn’t love to read about rock stars? I know I do 😉 The premise behind this series is so good, and Nalini Singh is usually the queen of hot and well fleshed-out characters. You will not really miss much if you read this one first, Carmel 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by.

    • They are awesome, and the fact that David wooed Thea by sending her memos just really got to me.

Thanks for stopping by, Brandi 🙂

    • I love Rock Star books, too, Traci. Musicians are just so swoon-worthy, you know? Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll have a fabulous Friday 🙂

  3. Loved your review 🙂

  4. Oh yay! I’m so glad this one did it for you, Lexxie. I was so worried after your review of Rock Addiction. It seems like the slow-burn romance really allowed for the character development I know you love. Okay, I’ll add this series to my TBR now. 🙂 (oh dear, the crane is giving me trouble since it hasn’t been worked in a few weeks. 😉
