Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Breaking Away ~ Toni Aleo #RAREParis

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Breaking Away ~ Toni Aleo #RAREParis

As you may or may not know, Denise and I are traveling to Europe in late March to visit Lexxie and to attend RAREParis. In an attempt to prepare, at least for RARE, the three of us decided to buddy read books from RARE authors. This is the first of our chat reviews for this amazing list of authors! FYI – Breaking Away is currently #free!   Brandee: Breaking Away was a great introduction to the series despite it being #6 in the Nashville Assassins series. TAleo never made me feel as if I was missing something while at the same time making me curious enough about the other characters to want to go back and read from the beginning. […]

Review: Playing for Keeps – Jill Shalvis

Review: Playing for Keeps – Jill Shalvis

Playing for Keeps just might be my favorite Heartbreaker Bay story! I loved Sadie and Caleb so much. And Lollipop was the best rescue puppy ever! Playing for Keeps just worked so very well for me! Sadie and Caleb both wanted nothing to do with a relationship. And they kind of worked the best using sarcasm towards each other. Until that evening when Caleb found an abandoned, three legged dog in the courtyard. And they somehow ended up co-adopting her. Caleb had been a bit of a mystery up until now, as he was a little on the outskirt of the friend group. In Playing for Keeps, however, he showed just what kind of a man he was. He’s a […]

Review: Wicked Knight – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Wicked Knight – Sawyer Bennett

Wicked Knight is the fifth book in the Wicked Horse Vegas series, and this series is still going strong. More than erotic romance, it is about dealing with the aftermath of a tough divorce as well. And also trusting another man to do right, when the one who was supposed to be everything only thought of himself. Story: I really enjoyed Wicked Knight, it was definitely hot, and had a little Cinderella / Pretty Woman feel to it. Mostly because Hannah was ready to do whatever it took to make sure her daughter would be with her, and that she would be safe being there. In the beginning, I didn’t really enjoy Asher all that much, but that changed quickly. […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Dirty Ones ~ JA Huss #2018NewRelease

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ The Dirty Ones ~ JA Huss #2018NewRelease

Wowza! That was some twisty, suspenseful, and steamy goodness! Huss is a master of the mind f*ck and she went all out in The Dirty Ones! I know, right? My mind twisted and turned, and it was impossible to figure out what was going on. I went from one shock to another, and I swear, my eyes almost bugged out of my head there for a while 😀   I don’t know that I could get a real good feel for any of the characters initially. But I liked Kiera right off the bat. She had an amazing outlook/attitude. Connor’s reaction at the airport was circumspect. I couldn’t figure out why he was so agitated although it became clear before […]

Online Launch Party & Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Text Me, Cupid ~ M. Jane Colette #textmecupid #newrelease #holidayromance

M. Jane Colette has a steamy (very steamy) rom-com releasing just in time for the holidays! To celebrate, she’s sharing with us a short video, your choice of an NSFW (so dirty) or Cleanish (it is M. Jane Colette, so it’s as clean as she could manage–it was hard) excerpt, and a chance to win a PRINT copy of Text Me, Cupid. Check it out: Text Me, Cupid a (slightly) dirty love story for 21st century adults who don’t believe in true love… but want it anyway by M. Jane Colette Genres: contemporary romance, romantic comedy, steamy (occasionally filthy) WANT A TASTE? Here’s M. Jane Colette reading a semi-steamy (but still safe for YouTube and Facebook) excerpt from Text Me, […]

Audio Review ~ Filthy ~ Winter Renshaw

Audio Review ~ Filthy ~ Winter Renshaw

Although I’ve been listening to audiobooks for a few years now, I still consider myself a noob. This was made more definite when I debated on whether or not to listen to Filthy, and thereby finish the Rixton Falls series to date, due to the fact I just wasn’t loving the story. In the end, I decided to go ahead and HOLY WOW! What a difference narrators make! Filthy is narrated by Lydia Dornet and Roger Wayne, a team that was awesome! Highlight of Filthy: Setting This installment took place in Florida rather than Rixton Falls which meant I got to avoid some of the issues I was having with the Rosewood family. And I was introduced to Aunt […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Good Time – Jana Aston

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Good Time – Jana Aston

Good Time was hilarious, don’t you think, Wifey? I was reading on the train back from Zurich this weekend, and I not only laughed out loud, I also snorted. Loudly. So that not only my daughter turned her head to look at me – other people on the train did as well. Payton was so funny – and she didn’t even mean to be, what did you think of her? Omigosh was Good Time hilarious!! I also giggle-snorted and I had to read parts aloud to Hubs because my reactions made him curious. Payton was funny without ever meaning to be. Being in her head, listening to her justify her actions to herself…I don’t know how anyone could NOT love […]

Review : Wicked Wedding – Sawyer Bennett

Review : Wicked Wedding – Sawyer Bennett

Wicked Wedding is a hot, fast read – with a whirlwind romance, a very bad ex, and a big secret. Story: Wicked Wedding was so hot! And it was also filled with quite a bit of humor. And if you’ve read any of the Wicked Horse Vegas books, you know some of the side characters that show up in this story. I loved both Drew and Brynne, but especially Drew! He was hit by lightening when he met Brynne. And she thought she was having the second worst day of her life – until it became one of the better days instead. All thanks to Drew and his very unconventional proposal Meeting by chance, both on their way from a […]

Review: The Chase – Elle Kennedy

Review: The Chase – Elle Kennedy

The Chase was so good! My emotions were totally involved from the start, and I have to say that Fitz and Summer were the perfect couple. The introvert with the shining star made me all hot and bothered – plus they made me laugh. Story: We got a little glimpse of Summer and Fitz in Kennedy’s last Off Campus novel, and I was so excited for The Chase. My excitement was completely warranted, too, and right now, all I want to do is squee with happiness. I loved this first foray into the new series, because the characters were so refreshing. I loved how Summer tried to better herself. After struggling with dyslexia her whole life, coming to a new […]

ARC Review: Bishop – Sawyer Bennett

ARC Review: Bishop – Sawyer Bennett

Bishop was amazing! I’m so happy Ms. Bennett is branching out with more hockey-players – and both Bishop and Brooke really did it for me. Story: There’s a little bit of suspense with Brooke’s friend Nanette, and a whole lot of awesome hockey-talk, relationships between the players, and within the organization at large. Of course, the whole hockey setting is partly what I loved about Bishop, however, the characters really did it for me as well! There’s a certain camaraderie among these players, who were let go by their team to start a new team in Arizona. Because Brooke wanted to make sure her father, the coach, wouldn’t be unfair to Bishop, she pretended they were engaged when her father […]
