Review: The Summer Deal – Jill Shalvis

Review: The Summer Deal – Jill Shalvis

The Summer Deal is a beautifully written romance where regret is one of the themes, and forgiveness is another one. The Summer Deal showed me once more why I’m such a fan of Shalvis’ writing! The characters made the story here, and the way they all had their difficulties to deal with made them very realistic. From the outside, other people’s lives can seem so simple and put together, but once we get a peek behind the scenes, we realize that’s not the case at all. Brynn had a good childhood in many ways, however, she had hidden certain things from her mothers in order to protect them. Never letting them know how difficult camp was, or how some kids […]

Review : Queen Move – Kennedy Ryan

Review : Queen Move – Kennedy Ryan

Queen Move was yet another masterpiece by Ms. Ryan – compelling characters, a beautiful love story, and important issues handled beautifully! Queen Move was so good I feel like I should just tell everyone to pick it up on release day. I guess a real review needs a bit more than that, though, so I’ll give it to you – with as little squeeing and gushing as possible 😉 First of all, I already met Kimba in the Kingmaker series, and I loved her there. Learning more about her in Queen Move made me love her even more. She’s a multi faceted character, and while her career has been the most important part of her life for ages, she has […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Tempt Me ~ Nina West

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Tempt Me ~ Nina West

I don’t know what exactly it was about Tempt Me that tempted me, wifey, but I was riveted. Maybe it was the way NWest brought these characters to life. I laughed, gasped, swooned…and I might have panted. 😉 LOL LOL there was definitely some panting going on. And I was so very curious about this whole series, as people either loved it or completely hated it! I know there was a point early on where we were both a little worried we weren’t going to like Abbi. She couldn’t seem to make up her mind and that made her appear weak. The more I got to know her though, the more I identified with her. She was young and really […]

Review: Rafe – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Rafe – Sawyer Bennett

Rafe and Calliope were amazing! They had history, and now, a second chance at love. However, with that second chance came a lot of turmoil, too. Mostly because Rafe’s reason for coming home was to be with his dying father. Rafe was a great addition to my two favorite hockey series! He had the worst reason ever to go back home, but luckily for him, there weren’t only bad things waiting for him. I loved Calliope, and how understanding she was, especially towards Rafe’s parents. I also really enjoyed how she made Rafe work for her time. Because she deserved only the best, and that’s not what he had given her in the past. Rafe can be read as a […]

Review: One Moment Please – Amy Daws

Review: One Moment Please – Amy Daws

One Moment Please is a humorous, hot, sweet romantic comedy, with so many charcuterie boards, and quite a bit of fun, with some darker moments. I absolutely adored One Moment Please! Lynsey was exactly my kind of heroine, she was driven, self-sufficient, resilient, smart, funny, and a charcuterie-board expert! Of course, she wasn’t perfect, but she just spoke to me on a very deep level. Her friends also totally agree with me 🙂 Josh – or Dr. Dick as Lynsey got to calling him – was an enigma at first. He was grumpy, and borderline assholey. But there was still something about him that not only drew the eye (hello good looking!), there was more than that. One Moment Please […]

Review: Heartland – Sarina Bowen

Review: Heartland – Sarina Bowen

Heartland pulled at my heartstrings – the friends to lovers trope, the slow burn, and the amazing chemistry made my heart both gooey and achy! Bowen always manages to write stories that bring out all the feels, and Heartland is no exception to that! Chastity was so innocent in many ways – as she had been free from the religious cult she was born into for only two years. In other ways, though, she was both strong and independent. Plus she was definitely motivated to make a good life for herself. The fact that she was in love with Dylan didn’t just complicate her life though, it also made it better in many ways. Heartland is a story with two […]

Review: Code Name Heist – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Code Name Heist – Sawyer Bennett

Code Name Heist brought me the heist of the century, a hot second chance at love, suspense, and a troubled past. Code Name Heist is Saint’s story, but it’s also Sin’s story. There is also a parallel story arc that made my heart ache, and that brought tears to my eyes. Several characters from prior Jameson Force Security were present as well, which made me feel like I knew what I got myself into when I started reading. Saint used to be a professional thief of high-end art and jewels. After being in jail for two years he decided to go legit, only for his first solo job with Jameson to be going back to his thieving ways. Code Name […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge Reviews ~ Pucked Series ~ Helena Hunting

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge Reviews ~ Pucked Series ~ Helena Hunting

Woohoo! This time I did indeed read a series in a month! And I’m patting myself on the back considering I had TWO trips to the Pacific Northwest during the month of November. Of course, 6 hour round-trip flights and time to read while waiting on kids to get out of class helped. 😉 The Pucked Series was so much fun and if you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it! *Note* I only read the 6 main novels of the series. I still have novellas to read. 😀 Here are the reviews that haven’t already been posted. Pucked Up features Buck/Miller and Sunny, who is Alex’s younger sister. There was a lot of angst in Miller and Sunny’s […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Pucked Over – Helena Hunting

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Pucked Over – Helena Hunting

Pucked Over is such a good play on words, but can we just start with all the hockey players’ names? I mean, I’m always waiting to see what it is, because it makes me laugh so hard. Randy Ballistic? It’s awesome, don’t you think? Oh the titles, the names, the characters…this series has been so much fun all around! But yeah, Randy “Balls” Ballistic is the greatest name. And it fits him so well. 😉   Pucked Over was just as humorous and hot as the other Pucked books, and I really loved getting to know Lily better. What did you think of her? And the fact that she was also a sportswoman? I loved getting to know Lily. She […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rock F*ck Club #5 ~ Michelle Mankin

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Rock F*ck Club #5 ~ Michelle Mankin

Holy WOW! I don’t even know where to start with Rock F*ck Club #5. I was so very eager for Gale’s story and I’m ecstatic I got it. Before this one, I would have said #3 was my fav. But now I’m all about Gale and Jo!! I agree – Gale and Jo were my favorites! And I just loved how dark Jo’s past was, but she still managed to move forward and try to find something she could be happy doing. While also honoring her past. Let’s start with Jo. MMankin kept her mysterious. We knew and/or learned enough about her to understand she was fiercely loyal to those she loves. We also knew she was a fighter, a […]
