Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge
This amazing challenge is brought to us by the wonderful Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle @ Because Reading. It’s fairly simple, between June 1st and June 30th, read all the books in a series. Yes! All. The. Books. There hast to be at least three full length novels in the series out already (or if you have the ARC for the third) so that you can read them during the month of June.
Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge Rules
- Pick 1 series. Yes, just 1. Announce which series you’ve picked on your sign up post.
- Read EVERY book in the series. You don’t have to read novellas or short stories, just the core books.
- Read them all between 12am (your time) June 1st and 11:59pm (your time) June 30th. They MUST be marked (on Goodreads) as started and finished in the month of June to count.
- Enjoy bragging to everyone about how you’re all caught up on whatever series you read (AKA – have fun)!
Can You Read a Series in a Month? My choice :
I want to read the Saints of Denver series by Jay Crownover. I have already read the prequel novella and the first book since June started, and I loved those, so now, I need to catch up with the next three books during the month of June. My Can You Read a Series in a Month? Challenge shelf on Goodreads can be found here.
Are you participating? If no, why not? It sounds fun, and I look forward to spending more time with these characters in and around Denver 🙂 If yes, good luck!
I just started rereading the Harry Potter series. Does that count? 😀
This challenge is a great idea. I could put in the Shiver trilogy too – I haven’t finished that yet.
Happy reading!
You need to read at least three books for the challenge to count, so yeah, re-reading Harry Potter should definitely work, Xyra 🙂
Awesome! 1 down, 6 to go. 🙂

I think I read the entire Lux series(J. Armentrout)in a five day period so I could do this but it would have to be really good! Good luck with yours:)
I decided to actually sign up after I read the novella and the first novel in a day and a half… so I think I’ll be OK. Thanks, Lorna.

Good luck on your challenge. I don’t like bingeing a series. I like to have a few books between each book, so this challenge is a no go for me. I hope you enjoy.
Thanks Melanie 🙂 If I like the universe of a series, I love bingeing on it, it’s like I can stay with my friends for more than a couple of days 😀 I understand why cleansing the palate so to speak works better for you, though 🙂
Good luck! That is a series I’ve been wanting to read as well!
I really enjoy it so far! Crownover has a new fan!
Good luck, Lexxie! I remember the days when I used to binge read entire series in a week or something… ah the good old days. xD
Ha! I still do that sometimes, review books be darned! If I have a new to me series, and there are several books out, I love to binge if I enjoy the stories 🙂
Good luck with this challenge, wifey. It should be no problem for you! 😉 I’m participating as well, reading Helena Hunting. I’ll cheer you on!!
**BIG HUGS**
I’m glad you’re participating as well, Brandee! I’ll cheer you on 🙂 (Did I tell you I’m Jay’s newest fangirl?)
I’ve been reading too slow to do this. Good luck to you, though.
My reading has picked up lately, and I’m so happy about that – it’s like I found my old friend after a while of not seeing her 😀 Thanks Christy 🙂
Good luck with the challenge!! I have too many review books lined up to do something like this but it sounds like fun.
Heh… I have many, many review books, too. But sometimes, I just let them take the sidelines for a few, and it sometimes motivates me to read them faster if I let myself just read whatever I feel like reading 🙂
Good luck on your challenge. I’m don’t like to bing read a series, but this can be a great challenge for many avoid readers. ^_^
I actually really enjoy binge-reading series… I have to be a bit careful with that, though, as if it’s not a finished series, the wait seems even longer if there’s a year between books, but I could read the first five in a week.
WOW. The only time I do binge-reading is when it’s a re-read of the books. Then I’ll do one after the other, but if I haven’t read them I usually take my time, but that also has to do with getting books from the library and their is sometimes a wait for the next in a series because someone already has it checked out. It’s hard when you have to wait a year for a book in a series. Especially if you really enjoyed the latest installment and you want the next now now now…. ^_^
I’ve been lucky enough to discover series when there were already several books out, and I have to say I love that, especially if the universe the stories unfold it entices me 🙂 I only re-read by listening to audios, actually, there are so many amazing books out there 🙂
I agree, the waiting a whole year (or sometimes, even more) is hard sometimes, but usually worth it.

I am so glad I came upon your blog post on this challenge. I am very excited to try it. I am going to try to read The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis with my four year old. It should be a challenge, to say the least, but I am so excited! Good luck to you!
Oh that sounds like a terrific way to do this challenge, Alexis! Good luck 🙂
Oh neat! That’s a great challenge. I’ve heard Jay’s books are fab. Good luck on the challenge, Lexxie!
So far, I love the books, Sophia – it’s not going to be a hardship to read them all 😀
Good luck Lexxie. Jay Crownover has been on my TBR since I started blogging, and I do own some of her books. Hope you enjoy the series.
Thanks Trish! So far, so good 🙂 I really enjoy Jay’s writing, her characters are fairly unconventional, sometimes even unlikeable, but still kind of enticing 😀

I read a series last month and the month before. I don’t think I can swing it this month thou. This challenge is great idea though. It is really fun to read a whole series back to back. Good luck on getting this one done!
I have read full series in a month before, too… it does become difficult to do so as often as I did before, though 🙂 Thanks, Karen!

it was a thumbs down for me… lacking in something that fails to keep me interested
I am in a big contemporary mood at the moment and even though I need to catch up with my fantasy series, I`m not really feeling them at the moment. I might join the challenge though and finally start The Grisha trilogy. I know, I must be the only one that has not read it.
