A girl with regrets…
Sasha Cherlin died the night she let Nick Tate walk out on her for a life of crime. Her very essence was destroyed when they broke their promise to one another.
A man with remorse…
Nick Tate made his choice with her future in mind. He loved Sasha enough to know that leaving her behind was the only way to keep her safe.
A path to revenge…
Special Agent Jax Barlow understands the bond of love and he plans to use it to get justice. Nick and Sasha will do anything to rewrite their past. He’s counting on that to bring them down.
Wasted Lust was one of my favorite Company / Rook & Ronin stories, both because I had been so curious about Sasha, and because anything that happens in this universe is bound to be amazing…
Listening to a favorite book enhances the experience in many ways, and Wasted Lust is proof of that! The narrators did an amazing job, and they managed to bring my distaste for Jax forward in the beginning of the story. There is one male and one female narrator, so that Sasha’s chapters are narrated by the woman and Jax’ chapters by the man. This worked very well, and I was so completely immersed in the story I sometimes didn’t want to leave my car and get into work.
Sasha’s story hit me even harder when I listened to it, and I felt so much for her. All the hardship she had been through when she was young, and the way it all caught up to her. Jax and his backstory definitely touched me, too, and I had forgotten just how deep into company business he was in order to get his revenge.
Nick is always the one who makes my heart hurt the most, though. Wasted Lust in audio brought that home even more, and I had trouble going to class and teach without anyone noticing I had been crying. If you enjoy Huss’ stories, just know that her audios make them even better. The narrators are great, and the way they deliver the characters’ feelings and thoughts to the listeners is so well done.
You don’t have to buy happiness, Sasha, it’s free.
Reading this book contributed to these challenges:
I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s one of my favorite audios! 🙂
It was so well done! And more than once, I wanted to stay in the car to listen rather than going into work, or my house 😀
Oh this one sounds interesting. I often love an audio with dual narrators like this and it usually transports me so much easier. Looks like I need to go audio with this author! Brilly review!
Dual narrators really, really make things amazing in audio, Melissa, I agree! All of Huss’ audios so far have been amazing!
okay…I am so going to get this one in audio format because it sounds dang good and I love those books that bring out emotion like this one. Glad you had a good time with it.
I think you’d enjoy this one, Renee 🙂 And the audio was so, so good.
I do think that listening to a favorite book makes it even better. I am going to have to try J.A. Huss since you are making her work sound so good. Great review!
Yeah, it’s such a nice way to revisit favorite characters, storylines and universes. I hope you’ll enjoy Huss as much as me, Carole!

I need to start buying up Huss’s audios. I think it’s the most likely way I’ll accomplish my goal of reading all her books this year! Glad to know her narrator choices are solid (not that it surprises me).
Happy Tuesday… I almost said Wednesday, so clearly I’m ready for this week to get a move on lol! Hope you’re having a great one 🙂 {{HUGS}}
Her narrators are amazeballs, Berls!!
The audio makes the story even better?!? That’s a feat! I’ve yet to listen to any of her books in audio but as you know, I like doing re-reads in audio because I don’t feel like I’m “wasting time” since it’s a different format. I’ll put Huss’ audio on my wishlist.
{{{BIG HUGS}}} & LOVE
Yup, Brandee! It sure does! I’m like you, audios for the re-reads, as it also makes it easier for me to write my reviews. Especially as I often listen outside or in my car, and can’t really take notes, and I find it rather difficult to go back and forth in audio.

Now that she’s getting more books on audio, I will be delving into them soon. I just need to get through a few of the ones I have first. *need more listening time* LOL
It’s a definite problem, isn’t it, Melanie? Oh, time, woe is you! I hope you’ll enjoy Huss’ stories as much as me, and truly, the audios really brought out what I loved the most of her stories.
