Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #180

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

Purchased - (un)Conventional Bookviews bought borrowed and bagged stacking the shelves

I have added more books to my RARE collection to get signed by favorite authors very soon:

What can I say? I’m a true Hussie, and can’t wait to get these signed. I have most of her books signed already, but not the Junco series, and I didn’t have Losing Francesca. Plus, I wanted that cover for Tragic, I love it!!

The Sunday Post #120 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

I met with my thesis supervisor on Monday, and after some changes to my writing, she was quite happy on Tuesday afternoon 🙂 I need to continue now, as my muse is definitely present.

It was my birthday on Tuesday, and my family spoiled me very nicely! First of all, my oldest went to get fresh croissants and pain au chocolat for breakfast, a quick bike ride and she was in France to get the very best 🙂 I also got flowers, some very nice cards, and presents.

On Wednesday, I finished teaching at 10 am, but was unable to leave due to a fire alarm going off. Of course, we had to vacate the building, and stay on the parking lot, and then wait for the firemen to arrive. They don’t really know why the alarm went off, as the firemen didn’t find anything wrong… but it brought us a bit of excitement.

  1. You are a true Hussie! Look at that collection. 🙂

Sweet of your daughter to get you a delicious breakfast for your special day. Yeah, fire alarm will break up the day. Woohoo, on doing well with the thesis. Sounds like a great week.

    Enjoy your weekend, Lexxie!

  2. Happy birthday, Lexxie. Sorry I’m late. Wish you all the best this year, my friend. Your daughter was so sweet. 😀
Congrats on your thesis! So happy for you. You do all the impossible: writing thesis, teaching, blogging at the same time. Plus the ampun t of time to read. Wow.. I’m speechless. 😀
I hope you enjoy your weekend. Happy reading.

  3. I don’t know where you find the time to get everything done! Happy birthday! I hope Freddy got you something nice! Looking at the beer is getting my mouth watering…I haven’t had a beer since Obama’s election in 2008! I always enjoyed European beer especially as a student…

    • I think there are days where I just don’t get enough sleep, Chuckles… And then, afterwards, I pay for that 😀
Oh my, I would never be able to give up on beer! I can give up on a lot of things, but please let me have my beer!

  4. Ooh nice new reads! All totally new to me ones so I hope you enjoy them all!

And that’s great about your thesis! And Happy Belated Birthday!! So sweet of your oldest to bike ride to get your favorite breakfast! So sweet! Hope you had a most excellent Bday!

    Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

  8. Happy belated birthday! Sounds like you had a fun time. 🙂 I am glad the fire alarm going off turned out to be nothing. That’s usually the case, it feels like–although it’s worth it as I’d rather a false alarm than a real one. Yay for a successful meeting with your advisor!

Freddy, as always, is adorable. <3 Thank you for sharing your photos of him with us.

I hope you have a wonderful week, Lexxie!

  9. I am happy you had a good birthday! Your daughter rode her bike to France to get food for breakfast? That’s super close. Does she have to take her passport? You are in the perfect spot to go to some amazing places! So jealous ? As always I enjoy the Freddy pictures 🙂 hope you have a good week and good luck with your thesis!

  10. Glad you had a lovely birthday – and that is the mark of a loving daughter, travelling to a different country to get the best for her Mum! Some adorable pics of Freddy this week. Glad your tutorial went well and you are on track for the dissertation (or is it thesis?). Have a lovely week, Lexxie:).

  11. Good luck with your thesis writing! Sounds like you’re on a roll. What a stellar birthday breakfast! Your family celebrates in style! Happy birthday, Lexxie!

First things first – Happy Birthday! I love the pics of your special day, and you deserved some “ME” time! Kudos on how well things are going with the thesis. Kudos on your diligence on collecting your fave books and to ensure you get them all signed. Totally fab! Hope your week is wonderful!

  13. Happy Belated Birthday. Freddy is so adorable. I loved Tragic, and the rest of the Rook and Ronin series. Eighteen is also one of my favorites, I’m going to add more JA Huss to my TBR shelf. Have a wonderful week and happy reading ~

  14. It sounds as though you had a nice birthday week, wifey. I’ve enjoyed teasing you about all your book buying but I can’t blame you for being a Hussie…I believe I had a little something to do with that. 😉 I’ve always wanted to try pain au chocolat. *sigh* That was so very nice of #1 to deliver that along with croissants for breakfast. You were spoiled indeed! I hope your muse is still feeding your thesis!
    Love you, darling! {{{BIG HUGGS}}}
