Every family has a black sheep.
In the infamous Casso crime family, that black sheep is me—Cannon Freeman.
Except I’m not a free man. I’ve never been free. Not since the day I was born.
I owe my loyalty to my father, Dominic Casso, even if he won’t publicly acknowledge me as his blood.
I’ve never had a reason to go against his wishes… until I met her.
Drew Carson turned my world upside when she walked into my club looking for a job.
Now, my honor and my life are on the line.
Going against my father’s wishes might buy me a bullet straight from his gun, but black sheep or not, it’s time to make my stand.
She's worth the fallout.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Black Sheep was intense. MMarch certainly knows how to dial up the suspense and tension while keeping the hot factor in perfect balance. Arndt and York brought Drew and Cannon to life brilliantly, proving yet again why they’re two of my favorite narrators.

Highlights:

  • Characters
Drew is a character to admire. She’s determined to figure out what happened to her dad, putting her life on the line for revenge/justice. She’s smart and daring both of which draw Cannon. Cannon is the black sheep of his family. He’s the illegitimate son of a mafia kingpin but refuses to dirty himself. He even went against his father’s orders and is still paying for it. Drew and Cannon shouldn’t be together for lots of reasons but neither can seem to help themselves.
  • Suspense
The “will she get caught?”, “will she spill her secrets?”, and “will they fall for one another?” questions kept my earbuds stuck in my ears. I had to know what happened next. Speaking of which, I pre-ordered White Knight because whoa! That ending was killer!
  • Romance
The circumstances that bring Drew and Cannon together, the forbidden element, and their chemistry all combined to make one HOT romance. 😉
  • Narration
Arndt and York are two of my favorites for a reason. They breathed life into these characters, made me feel each emotion viscerally, and kept the pace perfect. I didn’t want to stop listening. This duo always provides aural pleasure. 😉
