Audio Review ~ Drowning to Breathe ~ A.L. Jackson

After that cliffhanger ending in A Stone in the Sea, I had to dive right into Drowning to Breathe. It was imperative to see if Baz could redeem himself – in my eyes – and whether or not he and Shea had what it took to go the distance. All secrets have been revealed now and Shea and Baz find their pasts intertwined, interconnected in ways they could never have imagined. Now they have to decide if their love is worth fighting for when the elements of their pasts will attempt to use their weaknesses – each other and Callie – against them. I didn’t understand why Shea hadn’t explained her past to Baz before because it was going to […]

Audio Review ~ A Stone in the Sea ~ A.L. Jackson

I read A Stone in the Sea as part of Brandee & Linda’s Excellent Reading Challenge Adventure challenge – Monthly Keyword Reading Challenge. It’s been a sec since I read ALJackson and while I’d forgotten that her books lean toward melodrama, I did enjoy meeting Shea, Callie, and Sebastian “Baz”. Shea is a young woman doing her best to raise her young daughter on her own. She’s living in Savannah, a place that’ll always be home due to her fondest childhood memories being wrapped up in this city. Her grandma and her grandma’s home, which she inherited, offer her comfort and safety. Shea is kind and loving but not really living life fully – not as a young woman should. […]

Audio Review ~ White Knight ~ Meghan March

Audio Review ~ White Knight ~ Meghan March

Although not as suspenseful as its predecessor, White Knight was an engaging and exciting conclusion to the duet. And, of course, Ardnt and York were perfect!! White Knight picked up where Black Sheep ended. Good thing since I’d been biting my nails anxiously awaiting the continuation of that scene. It was shocking but not for the reasons I’d been anticipating. Once things are cleared up between Drew/Memphis and Cannon, the story took a turn. Memphis’s original purpose for insinuating herself into Cannon’s life changes and Cannon works to prove he’ll do whatever he can to get her the answers she needs. He also has to prove to his family – his father and brother – that he’s worthy. But he wants to […]

Audio Review ~ Black Sheep ~ Meghan March

Audio Review ~ Black Sheep ~ Meghan March

Wow! Wow! Wow! Black Sheep was intense. MMarch certainly knows how to dial up the suspense and tension while keeping the hot factor in perfect balance. Arndt and York brought Drew and Cannon to life brilliantly, proving yet again why they’re two of my favorite narrators. Highlights: Characters Drew is a character to admire. She’s determined to figure out what happened to her dad, putting her life on the line for revenge/justice. She’s smart and daring both of which draw Cannon. Cannon is the black sheep of his family. He’s the illegitimate son of a mafia kingpin but refuses to dirty himself. He even went against his father’s orders and is still paying for it. Drew and Cannon shouldn’t be […]
