Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

The Sunday Post #156 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

This week has been extremely busy. On top of that, I’ve been oh so very tired from spending last weekend in Cannes. I didn’t get much sleep, but I did have a lot of fun! Our plane left Geneva at 6:30 am last Saturday, and we were able to fully enjoy the book festival the whole day. I got to meet all the authors I had to meet, plus more that I wanted to meet. And it was so strange to see who had long or short lines – based on how many of their books have been translated to French!

On Saturday evening, we went to the gala dinner at the Cannes Festival Palace, and it was awesome! We had Champagne aplenty, good food, and excellent company. After dinner was over, there was an awards ceremony. And after that, party time. My daughter went back to the hotel around 1 am, but I stayed on with my friend Amélie, and with Ali of Black Heart Reviews. We went to a bar with some authors, and some of them brought their husbands.

On Sunday, I was so very tired, but still very happy. And there were still a few more hours left for the festival. Afterwards, my daughter, Amélie and her husband, KA Tucker and her husband and I left to find a place to have lunch. Tarryn Fisher came with us, and just when we were seated, Colleen and her husband showed up as well. Amélie and I managed not to squee, but internally, we were both happy-dancing.

This week was tough, as I had a very long day on Monday, and I have battled a head cold for over a week. But I really can’t wait for my next bookish fun, which will be in February, in London for RARE.

This Week’s Freddy in Action (plus one of Hercules)

Freddy is on a walk in the sun, just enjoying his day

Here he’s hanging out with #3 in his room <3
And this is little Hercules… whom I’m going to pick up next weekend.

  1. Omg how did you not fan girl, I would have been screaming or just totally passed out lol. I loved all the pictures glad you had fun! Now get some sleep!

Hercules is adorable! I can’t wait to see pictures of them together!

Have a great week, Lexxie! Miss you!!!

    • LOL Michelle! I think maybe the reason why they hung out with us is that we weren’t too fangirly… Their days were so very long, with signings, fangirling, photos and some difficulties at times with understanding French 🙂
I can’t wait to see Hercules and Freddy together, Michelle. And at the same time, I’m nervous. Kind of like I was 20 years ago around the time my 2nd child was born.
      Miss you too!!

  2. RO

While everyone was else was taking Spanish in high school, I was the odd one out and learned French. I only got to use it about one in my entire life, and that was when I visited Montreal for a festival. Now, I know almost zero of what I learned. (lol) Sounds like a fab time in Cannes with fantastic goings on. HUGE Hugs to Hercules who’s coming on board next weekend, and to our furry friend Freddy! Happy Saturday! RO

    • That’s funny, Ro. In Norway, everybody else took German, and I was the odd one out learning French 😀 I use it every day now, though, so it worked out well for me. I took Spanish, too, but have forgotten most of that, as I don’t use it often enough 🙂
Happy Saturday right back at you! *hugs*

  3. What a blast that must have been! I am so glad you had the opportunity to go. I hope you are catching up on some rest this weekend! I can’t wait to see more pictures of Hercules! I’m sure he and Freddy will be fast friends.

    • It was awesome! And I will do my best to go again next year. It was so much fun 🙂
I really hope Freddy and Hercules will be fast friends. I’m a little worried – kind of like I was when I was expecting child #2 way back when 😉

  4. I’m so glad you had a good time at Cannes. I love to travel but it’s tiring to be back home and catch up. It was a LONG week here I worked Every day (6 of 7) Sunday – Saturday. Now I have a few days off. YAY. I’m headed to NYC over Columbus Day weekend. Anne

  5. Sounds like an awesome event! How fun. Cannes and books sounds like a pretty good combination. And Hercules is a cutie. Freddy will have a friend soon eh?

    • It really was fun, Greg. And Cannes was the perfect place for it. We were even lucky with the weather, it was warm, but not hot, and the sun came out to make everything look beautiful.
I’m crossing my fingers for Hercules and Freddy – I really hope they’ll become the best of friends 🙂

  6. Yay, glad to hear you had an awesome time in Cannes, Lexxie. Oh so happy for you being able to meet those awesome authors. It would be like a dream come true to me if I met them. Hopefully someday.
Sorry to hear about your tough week. I hope your new books will make this week is way better. Yay, love to see Freddy and little Hercules. SO cute. I should take more photos of my Momo.

Have a wonderful week, my friend. ?❤️

  7. oh what a cute new dog there! Sorry I didn’t come it was too far and I have my oral this week so it was a bit too much for me.

  8. Ooh, Breathing Fire has an amaaaazing cover, wow.
Glad you had fun at the Cannes 🙂 sounds like a great time you had.

awww I can’t wait for more photos of Hercules and Freddy together. Hope you get well soon, we have a long weekend (labour day) here in Australia.

  10. Hope you are feeling better! It’s amazing how easy it is to get drained from being busy. September is terrible for me and I already feel as if October is almost over and it’s only October 3!

Hercules is adorable! Hoping your two little furry boys get along swimmingly!

In other news, I’ve been watching True Blood season 1 (somehow never saw that season); I’m thinking a series re-read is in the future. My TBR pile is whining at the news. 😀
