Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place to showcase a book we’re really looking forward to with bated breath! A new release in our favorite series, an exciting new title from a favorite author…
Waiting on Wednesday #9 – The Beautiful Ashes
The Beautiful Ashes (Broken Destiny #1) – Jeaniene Frost
In a world of shadows, anything is possible. Except escaping your fate.
Ever since she was a child, Ivy has been gripped by visions of strange realms just beyond her own. But when her sister goes missing, Ivy discovers the truth is far worse—her hallucinations are real, and her sister is trapped in a parallel realm. And the one person who believes her is the dangerously attractive guy who’s bound by an ancient legacy to betray her.
Adrian might have turned his back on those who raised him, but that doesn’t mean he can change his fate…no matter how strong a pull he feels toward Ivy. Together they search for the powerful relic that can save her sister, but Adrian knows what Ivy doesn’t: that every step brings Ivy closer to the truth about her own destiny, and a war that could doom the world. Sooner or later, it will be Ivy on one side and Adrian on the other. And nothing but ashes in between…
I’m really excited about Ms. Frost’s new NA title! I love her adult paranormal series, because her heroines are always kick-ass, strong, sassy and beautiful. I won’t have too long to wait, which is a good thing 🙂 This title is scheduled to be released on August 26th.
Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic Wednesday! Don’t forget to leave me a link in your comment so I can come and check out your Waiting on Wednesday post, too.

I can say that Jeanine Frost delivers on this one big time. Her books are so good and they never let you down. I have only read the first two Night Huntress books and loved them. The Beautiful Ashes was great.

I love the myth that she used for this one. It’s so ingenious! I hope you read it soon and enjoy it just as much as Night Huntress.
I hope so, too, Braine! I have it on pre-order, and luckily, my kids will be back to school next week, but I won’t 😀
Thanks for stopping by.
I haven’t read any of hers yet, so I’ll have to check at least one of them out soon. 🙂
I love her Night Huntress series, Kirsty-Marie! I love her writing style, and how likable her heroines are (and of course how hot the heroes are 😉 )
Thanks for stopping by.
I remember you telling me that you have lots of Jeanine Frost books. I swear I never heard of her or any of her books but I take it that she’s really a good author considering your anticipation.
Maybe I should go and check out her books. Happy waiting, Lexxie! 😀
Yeah, Charlotte, I love her adult PNR/UF series, and I really hope I’ll enjoy her take on YA, too 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, my dear.
I’ve never heard of this one! Though I am familiar with the author. I hope you enjoy it when you read it!!

Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I just recently stumbled upon this myself, and I’m really happy to know that she’s branching out 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Alyssa.
Blue Balliett has a new book coming out in 2015, in it her characters from 2 different series will join efforts to solve an art crime.
Her target audience is upper elementary and middle school readers. My favorite of hers is The Wright 3 where the setting is Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House in Illinois.
I have three books to read before the new release so I am acquainted with all of the characters. The Calder Game (3rd after Chasing Vermeer and The Wright 3), Hold Fast, and The Danger Box.
She’s a Scholastic author (and on goodreads). Her website is cute. http://www.blueballiettbooks.com/
I may check out her Nantucket Ghosts too.
That sounds like a good one, Xyra 🙂 It’s fun when characters from two different series meet up!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
It is fun when characters meet up like that. Like when Nancy Drew and her gang would work with the Hardy Boys. 🙂
yeah, I was amazed by that when I was a kid reading both series 🙂
This one sounds like it will turn all back stabby and heart breaky right when the crap hits the fan. Sign me up
You think there will be back-stabbing involved? Heart-breaking, I agree with, but I hope you’re wrong about the back-stabbing 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Matt.
I had high hopes for this one but so far the reviews are a bit lackluster. Bummer.
I hope that I won’t agree with those reviews, Heidi 😉
Thanks for stopping by.
I’m not sure if I want to read this book or not, bu I hope you’ll like it. Thanks for sharing, and for stopping by my WoW earlier. 🙂
I hope I’ll enjoy it, too 🙂 Thanks for stoping by, Petra.
I believe I saw a praising review for this one yesterday at Supernatural Snark. It seemed pretty good. I just don’t like the cover. xd
Happy Wednesday!
Yeah, people seem to either really love it, or really not enjoy it at all 🙂 I hope I’ll enjoy it – even if the cover could have been better 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Lola.
I haven’t ever read anything by Ms. Frost yet, but all I’ve heard is great things! I love NA with a paranormal twist, so I might eventually get to this when it releases! (Despite the horrible cover. Meh.) Thanks for sharing!
I have her on autobuy, actually 😀 even if this cover is not great. Thanks for stopping by, Michelle.
Yes, yes, yes!! I can’t wait for this one either, Lexxie. Of course, I still need to finish Cat & Bones. 😉 *big hugs*
I never wanted Cat & Bones to finish *cries* But I’m really happy there is something new and different being released by one of my favorite authors 🙂 *BIG HUGS*
Great pick Lexxie, I am so eager to get into this one as well! I read the first 4 chapters in line at BEA this year and it was VERY promising! Can’t wait to dig in again for the rest ;-D I hope you get your hands on this one soon ^^ x
I’m very happy you found the first four chapters to be promising, Micheline! I have it on pre-order, so the day of, it’ll magically appear on my kindle for my enjoyment 😀
