Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place to showcase a book we’re really looking forward to with bated breath! A new release in our favorite series, an exciting new title from a favorite author…
Waiting on Wednesday #80
There are so many very cool books being released in 2016, I am really wondering if I should just quit everything else and only read! Today, I’m waiting on Rebel of the Sands, which is scheduled for release on March 8th by Penguin Books.
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
She’s more gunpowder than girl—and the fate of the desert lies in her hands.
Mortals rule the desert nation of Miraji, but mystical beasts still roam the wild and barren wastes, and rumor has it that somewhere, djinni still practice their magic. But there’s nothing mystical or magical about Dustwalk, the dead-end town that Amani can’t wait to escape from.
Destined to wind up “wed or dead,” Amani’s counting on her sharpshooting skills to get her out of Dustwalk. When she meets Jin, a mysterious and devastatingly handsome foreigner, in a shooting contest, she figures he’s the perfect escape route. But in all her years spent dreaming of leaving home, she never imagined she’d gallop away on a mythical horse, fleeing the murderous Sultan’s army, with a fugitive who’s wanted for treason. And she’d never have predicted she’d fall in love with him…or that he’d help her unlock the powerful truth of who she really is.
Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic Wednesday! Don’t forget to leave me a link in your comment so I can come and check out your Waiting on Wednesday post, too.
I asked a review copy of this one from the publisher. Fingers crossed 🙂
Oh I hope you’ll get it, Majanka!
Oh, I LOVE the sound of that. Like a combination of a steampunk Djinn story I just read book 2 of (review with the tour coming on Friday!) and the Dustlands Trilogy by Moira Young, where I only read book 1 so far but absolutely loved it.
This is so going onto my tbr, you have no idea! Thanks! 😉
I know, right? The desert, mystical beasts, djinns… it sounds fantastic! Thanks for stopping by Caro.
Oooh this one sounds really interesting! I hope you love it, Lexxie 🙂
I hope so, too, Danielle 🙂
I’m seeing a lot of this one lately and starting to get curious about it! LOL! Hope you love it!

If only we could stop everything else and just read…that is a fantastic idea! This book looks really good. I haven’t seen it around before. Great pick!

Yes. Yes, you should definitely quit everything else and just read, Lexxie. 😉 Unfortunately, we both have a few people who would have something say about that, don’t we? *sigh* Someday, we’ll have that island…

I’m So curious about this book! I can’t wait to check it out myself. I hope it’s great! 🙂
This does sound REALLY good but since it’s a trilogy, I think I’ll wait for the whole series to be out and then do a binge-read. I’ve recently realized that for me to get a full experience of a series, I need to read the books back to back. I hope this will live up to all your expectations when you get to it! 🙂
Sounds exciting! I hope you love it, and thanks for sharing. Here’s mine: “ONE TRUE LOVES”
I’ve never seen this particular cover but YES I am waiting on this one too!! It sounds amazing! Mystical beasts, a kick-butt heroine? Sign me up 😀 Wonderful pick my friend and happy hump day! xx
I’ve been keeping my eye on this one and am very much anticipating the release 🙂 Not too much longer! I just need to know more about this world, great pick 🙂
