Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week, I’m sharing a glass of wine… The book is What a Lady Requires (The Eton Boys Trilogy #3) by Ashlyn MacNamara, and Emma has just gotten married – a week after meeting her intended. Her husband thinks she needs a little wine before the wedding night, and the wine really sounds good!
She wrapped her fingers about the stem quickly to hide their trembling and took a sip. The finest hermitage, rich, robust, and earthy. Corsé, as the French would term it, from Côte du Rhône. Hints of blackberry coated her tongue, and a chocolaty finished washed down her throat, trailing warmth to her belly. A glance at the label confirmed her suspicions. He’d been into the back of the wine cellar.
Thanks for stopping by today, have a terrific Thursday!
I want a glass of that wine too 🙂 I’ve read book #1 in that series and loved it, I’ll read the others.
It sounds good, no? I love this series, Iza, I enjoy discovering the different parts of the intrigue in these men’s lives.
I don’t know that much about wine – except that I like to drink it 😉 – but that wine just described sounds absolutely delicious! Thanks for sharing it, Lexxie. 81 more days and we’ll be sharing a real glass of wine! *BIG HUGS*
Ha! I like to drink wine, too, Brandee 😉 I’m not exactly a connoiseur, but I do enjoy trying wine from different places, and I especially like French, Italian and Spanish wines that have a good, strong taste when I first start drinking it, then something sweeter and lighter afterwards 🙂
We will definitely be sharing at least one glass of wine in 80 day, my dear!! *BIG HUGS*
