Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #52
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
Today, I’m sharing a frantic Hungry Hearts quote from Sweep in Peace by Ilona Andrews. Dina, the innkeeper is expecting three delegations from three different species for peace-talks at her inn, and while she had thought about food, she hadn’t thought about hiring someone to actually make the food…
My Hungry Hearts quote:
There was simply no other money to be had. I had to feed the guests. Vampires required meat with fresh herbs, otrokars had to have spices and citrus with everything, and Nuan Cee’s clan had a taste for poultry, and they were particular about how it was prepared. I had to hire someone, whatever it cost.

I have got to get started on this series! I can just see this scene. LOL Makes me think of a bar scene from Star Wars. All those species ordering weird, sometimes gross, drinks.
Yes, that’s exactly it, Laura. And this series is really good, quite different from the Kate Daniels series, but with a strong heroine and a very unique universe 🙂
Poor Dina! She needed food and unfortunately her guests were picky eaters!
Happy Thursday, Lexxie! **BIG HUGS**
Yeah, very, very picky eaters, Brandee. And it’s not only food that’s needed, someone who can actually prepare the food is just as important! *BIG HUGS*
I have Sweep in Peace and Clean Sweep I really need to make room in my reading mood for them. I have been in a strange reading mood this year so far.
Oh you should, Felicia, it’s very different! So if your mood is different, maybe this series will work for you?

Vamps that eat, that’s cool!
Everything is slightly different in this universe, Braine, and that’s part of why I love it so much 😀
