Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title and author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.
Teaser Tuesday #44 – Double Play
Double Play (Pacific Heat #1) – Jill Shalvis
He’s a great pitcher…and a great catch.
With the end of his career looming, the last thing ace pitcher Pace Martin needs is a distraction, even if it comes in the form of a tough, beautiful, tell-it-like-it-is writer who sees past his defenses.
My Double Play teaser:
If Pace Martin had the choice between sex and a nap, he’d actually take the nap, and wasn’t that just pathetic enough to depress him. But his shoulder hurt like a mother and so did his damn pride.
What’s your teaser today? Please share – it’s not as if a few more books on my TBR mountain will make that big of a difference 😉
Good teaser! He must really have a sore shoulder!
My teaser is from Look Closer.
Yup, very sore shoulder indeed… poor Pace.
Sounds like it could be hot
It definitely has the potential for hot, Brian 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
Great Teaser. Here is mine

I thought it was a fun one to share 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Nadene.
I rather like that cover! 😉 I also like that tease! Another Shalvis book?? I’m going to have to break down and read one. 🙂 This sounds like a good one! *big hugs*
Yes, Brandee! Another Shalvis book, I’m doing my best to wear you down 😉 *BIG HUGS*
Poor baby. 🙂
Haha, I know, right?
Not my genre, but sounds like good writing.
Mine this week is from a spy thriller: http://pdworkman.com/excerpt-from-blood-line/
I really enjoy contemporary romance, and Shalvis is a favorite of mine 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
There’s something about a guy in a baseball uniform.. Yum. Sound like one I need to look for. 🙂
My Tuesday Teaser
I love sporty guys, and Pace is definitely worth getting to know, Marsha 😉
I so get where Pace is coming from! There are days where I’d much rather catch a few extra Z’s then get busy too. But, ssshhh! Don’t tell my husband. Haha! One of Jill Shalvis’ books has been nominated in this year’s Audies, I might have to give it a listen to see if I like her writing style.
*whispers* I won’t tell him if you don’t, Carmel.
If you are looking for a contemporary romance, Shalvis is a must-read!

I hope you’re enjoying this AND Spain (still there?), Lexxie!
I’m definitely enjoying Double Play, Braine, and sadly, I’m not in Spain anymore… It was only for four days before we got back home. Next time will be for longer, and it will be all vacation and laziness 😀
This sounds like my kind of book! Adding it to my TBR…here is mine:

It’s a light-hearted contemporary romance 🙂 I just finished it and enjoyed it, Kate.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with choosing naps over everything because some good sleep is hard to get by nowadays! This sounds like a fun read! Thanks for sharing 🙂 Hope you have a great week!
My Tuesday post
Juli @ Universe in Words
LOL, I agree, Juli, but still… 😉
I have to admit, naps are pretty hard to resist though ha ha! Great post Lexxie 🙂
My Teaser
True, a good nap is pretty hard to come by, too 😉
Wow, he must be in pain, physically and mentally, to not want sex! This looks like a good one and I do love a man in a uniform. LOL
Me, too, Laura! And the story was a good one 🙂
Interesting teaser!
Thanks Freda 🙂
Aw poor Pace. I love Jill Shalvis but I haven’t read this one yet.
I love Shalvis, too, and this one had been on my TBR shelf for far too long!
