Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Tyrant ~ T.M. Frazier

Blogger Wife Chat Review ~ Tyrant ~ T.M. Frazier

After finishing Tyrant, again I’m left saying HOLY WOW! There was so much going on here – the action, the revelations…I was RIVETED! I told you so! Bwahahaha! I think you should just get the WHOLE series and binge-read it, like I did 😉  The way Frazier conveyed Doe’s memories as they came back was well done. I felt for the girl she’d been and it made sense she’d “clicked” so easily into the family she chose with King. How did the memories affect you given her circumstances? Oh my gosh! When she slowly remembered things, I died a little. I felt so bad for her – and even for those memories that were good, my heart broke. Doe was […]

Double Review ~ Dissolution & Infraction ~ K.I. Lynn

Double Review ~ Dissolution & Infraction ~ K.I. Lynn

Dissolution was a quick read but well worth the time. This little glimpse inside Nathan’s head – seeing how he felt after what he did to Lila – was enlightening. Understanding dawned over why he felt the need to act the way he did – especially considering how strong his feelings are – but I agreed with what Andrew and Caroline did. It was cowardly no matter the good intentions behind his actions. However, seeing Nathan’s pain and how he reacted at the end, I’m eager to see if he can redeem himself in Lila’s eyes…and mine. Onto Infraction.     Although Infraction didn’t pack quite the punch of Breach, I enjoyed having the front row seat as Nathan and […]

Review: The Accidentals – Sarina Bowen

Review: The Accidentals – Sarina Bowen

The Accidentals had everything I love in a romance. There was heartache, there was happiness, there were awkward reunions, and sharp humor. Plus, there was a whole lot of music! Story: The Accidentals is a masterpiece of feelings. It was also a different kind of romance, because the main story wasn’t about the romance – it was about family and loss. And it was also about finding what had seemed lost forever. Plus, the music made me swoon… Because music was a very important part of The Accidentals, and it added more layers to both the characters and the story itself. Rachel had been to hell and back, and living in a group home was not her idea of being […]

Review : Wicked Wedding – Sawyer Bennett

Review : Wicked Wedding – Sawyer Bennett

Wicked Wedding is a hot, fast read – with a whirlwind romance, a very bad ex, and a big secret. Story: Wicked Wedding was so hot! And it was also filled with quite a bit of humor. And if you’ve read any of the Wicked Horse Vegas books, you know some of the side characters that show up in this story. I loved both Drew and Brynne, but especially Drew! He was hit by lightening when he met Brynne. And she thought she was having the second worst day of her life – until it became one of the better days instead. All thanks to Drew and his very unconventional proposal Meeting by chance, both on their way from a […]

Review ~ Breach ~ K.I. Lynn

Review ~ Breach ~ K.I. Lynn

Oh my! So I read Breach because it’s been hanging around on my kindle for, um, a few years, and because K.I. Lynn was attending Bookish Denver (summer of 2017) so I decided it was high time I get this one read! And, as happens often, I’m kicking myself for not having read it sooner! Y’all, I’m almost vibrating in anticipation of the next books in the series (luckily I bought the boxset at some point) because I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! Highlights: Office Romance And Nathan isn’t Delilah’s boss! Nathan and Delilah are both contract attorneys and office mates. Office romance is a favorite trope of mine anyway but this one is done so well – […]

Review: Cooper’s Charm – Lori Foster

Review: Cooper’s Charm – Lori Foster

Cooper’s Charm was a sweet, hot romance, in which two sisters needed some lovin’ even if they were doing alright on their own. Story: I really enjoyed Phoenix and what Cooper’s Charm managed to help her do to get her life back on track. However, the fact that Ridley, Phoenix’s sister also got her story in the same book made me a little bit sad. I would have enjoyed for each sister to have her full story – not a two-for-one at the beginning of a series. That being said, Cooper’s Charm is a solid beginning, and I loved the setting, the lake, the RV park, the fact that Cooper did all his best to make sure his guests were […]

Review: Children of Blood and Bone – Tomi Adeyemi

Review: Children of Blood and Bone – Tomi Adeyemi

Children of Blood and Bone is a complex fantasy novel, in which one people fight their way to win magic back in order to stay alive. There is a corrupt and vicious king, a credulous young prince, a very strong young woman, and a lot of action. Story: Children of Blood and Bone managed to tell a compelling story, build a complex world, and include magic that was quite different from other stories I’ve read. There was a dictatorial king, and he would kill the smallest flutter of magic he could find – to keep his people safe, or so he said. Zélie was learning to fight, to survive, to keep the former magic users – dîviners – safe. And […]

Review: Bad At Love – Karina Halle

Review: Bad At Love – Karina Halle

Welcome to my buddy-read review for Bad At Love that I read with my bloggerwife, Brandee @ BookwormBrandee 🙂 Hi wifey! I’m so happy we buddy read Bad at Love – you know, Karina Halle seems to be our go-to author for these. 😉 Okay, let’s chat! 1) What did you think of Laz’s serial monogamy? I found it very interesting that he dated for periods of time but always had a girl to move to immediately – and that it was easy because he never got close to a girl or let them get close to him. It said a lot about his feelings on relationships even though he felt he was doing a good thing. I thought that […]

Review: The Chateau – Tiffany Reisz

Review: The Chateau – Tiffany Reisz

The Chateau was wickedly delicious and deliciously wicked. I loved this glimpse into Kingsley’s past, how he was already both a giver and a receiver of pain.. Story: Reisz always mesmerizes me with her storytelling, and I was immediately immersed in The Chateau with Kingsley. In this story, I got to know Kingsley better, and I loved seeing him as a young man. How he lived with the aftermath of his relationship with Søren. What he actually did for the hidden branch of the French government. And how he got entangled with a community where women were boss. In the Chateau, Kingsley wasn’t only a government agent, he was also a player. And he played rather well if the girl […]

#Review: Passion Rising – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

#Review: Passion Rising – J.A. Huss and Johnathan McClain

Passion Rising ends the Original Sin series with a bang! And I felt like I got to know the main characters so much better here. Story: For a while in the beginning of Passion Rising, things were going slow – the aftermath of Flesh Into Fire could still be felt. However, Maddie and Tyler finally had room and time to breathe. To slow down. To get to know each other better. They were also able to heal – both physically and emotionally – which is something they both needed. Seeing Maddie and Tyler doing more ‘normal’ stuff made me love them more. And it also helped me get to know them much better. Passion Rising had a lot of passion, […]
