Review: The Blue Blazes (Mookie Pearl #1) – Chuck Wendig

*I received a free ARC of The Blue Blazes from Angry Robot via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* The Blue Blazes takes place in a weird-ass version of New York! The underworld is close, and Mookie is a huge hulk of a thug who is somehow trying to keep the world more or less safe from the monsters. A part of the organization, Mookie realizes that his biggest opponent in the war for power is his daughter, who now answers to the name Persephone. But all Mookie thought was truth slips away from him as he moves forward through the labyrinth he used to know as well as the back of his hand. The pacing is simply amazing! […]

Review: Sleep With the Lights On (Brown and De Luca #1) – Maggie Shayne

Review: Sleep With the Lights On (Brown and De Luca #1) – Maggie Shayne

*I received a free ARC of Sleep With the Lights On from Harlequin MIRA via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Sleep With the Lights On is one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a very long time! Brilliantly written, the suspense always building, wonderful characters, a little romance and a lot of danger. It really has a lot of the things I’m looking for in a great read. Even the prologue hooked me – it was as if I could not put the book down from the very first lines of that, and I could hardly sleep because I wanted to get up and continue reading. I needed to know what would happen next, and how Rachel […]

Review: Targeted (Deadly Ops #1) – Katie Reus

*I received a free ARC of Targeted from Penguin Group Berkley via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Targeted is an extremely fast-paced romantic thriller, with awesome characters, an exciting plot and some very hot and steamy scenes as well. Sophie and Jack has a lot of things working against them, especially that little detail from Jack’s past, the one where his name wasn’t Jack, and he was Sophie’s first boyfriend. And the only boy she’d ever loved. When Jack is sent to Miami to find out more about a medical company that seems to be involved with drug and arms trafficking, he doesn’t want to go at first, because he feels that seeing Sophie again is the biggest […]

Blogtour and Review: Undercover Lover – Jamie K. Schmidt

Blogtour and Review: Undercover Lover – Jamie K. Schmidt

*I received a free ARC of Undercover Lover from IFB Blogtours in exchange of an honest review* Undercover Lover is a nice mix of romance, police-thriller, alternative medicine and Russian mafia. It is filled with humor, a strong and smart heroine, a hot hero and lots of intrigues. I especially loved that Pam is a doctor, she has several diplomas and could have been a famous shrink, but instead she is practicing reiki to help her patients. The way Pam set up her office and centered herself to be ready to share the universe’s energy with her patients is well done, I could almost feel myself relaxing just reading about it. Drake is an undercover cop who does his job […]

Review: Stolen – Shiloh Walker

Review: Stolen – Shiloh Walker

*I received a free ARC of Stolen Random House via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review* Stolen really, really freaked me out! It had me from the first sentence, and I gripped my kindle for most of the time I was reading. What I liked the most is that in all the creepiness, there was still both romance and humor present most of the time. Yes, it’s actually possible, and it was masterfully done in this novel. Very exciting, quite thrilling and more than a little creepy. Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.
