Review: Trouble With the Cursed – Kim Harrison

Trouble with the cursed is an adrenaline rush on crack! Rachel has so many things going on at the same time it’s almost impossible to keep up and breath at the same time! Oh my gosh! I don’t even know why I’ve waited a bit over a month to read this latest installment in the Hollows series, but somehow that happened. Rachel is still my best demon-witch, and I love her with all my heart! Even if there’s not really much I can say without spoiling things for those who haven’t gotten this far in the series yet… Of course, Jenks is very present in Trouble with the Cursed, even when Rachel tries to protect him. And Trent is there […]

Review ~ The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea ~ Elizabeth O’Roark

Review ~ The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea ~ Elizabeth O’Roark

It’s official. With The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, EO’Roark solidified her place as a new favorite author. And I don’t care what you say, I’m not choosing between Hayes and Josh. Nope. Not gonna do it. 😉 Okay, so I absolutely FLOVE the setup for this one. Drew, who we met in A Deal with the Devil, is invited to spend a vacation with her on again/off again boyfriend and his family. The only problem being that his brother also being present. His annoyingly judgemental but HOT brother. Did I mention he’s HOT?!? 😉 Josh is constantly getting in Drew’s business when Six (who does have a common name but he’s a rock star so…) doesn’t show for […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Review ~ Scoring the Billionaire ~ Max Monroe

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Review ~ Scoring the Billionaire ~ Max Monroe

Scoring the Billionaire was fantastic! It gave me all the feels, kept me giggling, and the conflict in Wes and Winnie’s story didn’t make my left eye twitch. 😉 So overall, I was correct in assuming that Wes and Winnie would end the series winningly! 😀 Despite know the least about these MCs going in (well, except for book 1 but cut me some slack here) I was truly excited for Scoring the Billionaire. I guess it’s because Wes has been such an enigma and after meeting Winnie in Banking the Billionaire, I just knew she’d tame Wes in the best of ways. I was not disappointed. So Wes is the one billionaire bad boy that we’ve seen the least. […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Review ~ Banking the Billionaire ~ Max Monroe

Hot diggity! Banking the Billionaire delivered on the story I was keen to get on Cassie and added in the delight of the unexpectedness of Thatch. I got snark, pranks, holy hotness, and character growth! That’s a whole lot of goodness. 😉 It wasn’t without its issues but I enjoyed this installment more because of the emotional growth. What Worked Characters Okay, so Cassie was the one I was most excited to get better acquainted with. I mean, she’s a woman who is strong, smart, talented, and sexually empowered. I had no idea she was such a prankster. The stunts she pulls trying to one up Thatch were hilarious. Getting to meet her family and understand her on a deeper […]

ARC Review ~ When It Falls Apart ~ Catherine Bybee

ARC Review ~ When It Falls Apart ~ Catherine Bybee

I was thrilled to see When It Falls Apart land in my inbox. I’ve been meaning to read Catherine Bybee since meeting her in 2013 (yeah, I’m a bit s-l-o-w) and getting to be in on a new series from the ground level was really appealing. Luca and Brooke were a charming way to meet all the D’Angelos and this series. Brooke was so…REAL! Needing a change following a breakup as well as having to take over primary care of her ailing father, she finds herself relocating to San Diego. Things seem to fall into place when she finds a facility for her father conveniently located and new digs in the area that drew her to San Diego in the […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Review ~ Tinsel ~ Devney Perry

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Review ~ Tinsel ~ Devney Perry

Oh my goodness! Tinsel was the perfect way to wrap up the Lark Cove series. It had all the feels as well as dealing with some heady and familiar topics. Sophia and Dakota made for a unique couple and their story allowed me to finish this series with a contented sigh. 🙂 Sophia is Logan’s youngest sister and I’m not gonna lie, she didn’t initially endear me with her bratty, spoiled diva behavior. However, DPerry pulled off the rare feat of changing my mind about a character. Getting to know Sophia, see her past and how it affected and shaped her, definitely altered my perception of her. She wasn’t the “poor, little rich girl” she pretended to be. Under her […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Review ~ Tapping the Billionaire ~ Max Monroe

I’d never read Max Monroe before but I owned a copy of Tapping the Billionaire. When Berls recommended this series for this challenge because Max Monroe are signing at Book Bonanza AND it also ticked the box for Bookish Bounty, I decided it was a win-win situation. Lucky for me, it was a good read for the most part. The setup is that Georgia works at Kline’s company but they’ve never looked at each other as anything other than boss-employee. However, one evening Kline finds Georgia being adorable at the exact moment he’s blocking his mom’s attempt at setting him up on a date. He tells his mom he has a date and then sets out to get Georgia to […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Review ~ Tragic ~ Devney Perry

Tragic is a worthy installment in this series. It packed a lot of feels – laughter, growls, tears – they all made appearances often. Piper and Kaine were magical together and watching them fall for one another was good stuff. We met Piper in Tattered as she’s Logan’s assistant. I knew then she was a character I wanted to get to know better. Her story was worth the wait. She’s moved to Lark Cove for a fresh start following an ugly divorce. Piper’s a fighter, though. Lark Cove is good for Piper and I enjoyed watching her blossom in the sun and fresh mountain air. Her meeting with Kaine was something. LOL These two…well, they were explosive to say the […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Review ~ Timid ~ Devney Perry

Timid knocked my socks off in a very not timid way! This story was set up in Tattered and I couldn’t wait for Willa and Jackson’s story. And. IT. WAS. AWESOME! Willa Doon was born and raised in Lark Cove. She’s the kind of girl who’s as beautiful on the inside as she it on the outside. She’s also the kind of girl who sits back and takes it all in. She’s, well, shy. But she’s passionate and gives her all to the things that are important to her. When she first laid eyes on Jackson Page she was a goner. Nine years later, she’s still mooning over the man. Everyone in town knows Willa has a thing for Jackson…everyone […]

Can You Read a Series in a Month? Review ~ Tattered ~ Devney Perry

The first series I’m attempting to read this month is Devney Perry’s Lark Cove series. This is a buddy read with Lenore @Celebrity Readers. The first book in the series is Tattered and although I’d read it previously, it was back in 2019 and I decided to give it a re-read. Here are my thoughts from this time around, some of which are taken from my original review. 🙂   If y’all have been around for a while, you know I’m a sucker for second chance romances. Thea and Logan get a swoon-worthy second chance and I was rooting for them hard. These two initially meet in the hotel bar where Thea works in New York. They both felt an […]
