Review: Wicked Choice – Sawyer Bennett

Review: Wicked Choice – Sawyer Bennett

Wicked Choice is much more than an erotic romance, there are some important choices the characters have to make. And there is an important theme about how women are often judged much more harshly than men for their choices. Story: Wicked Choice does partly evolve inside the Wicked Horse, but it’s not the most important place or theme of the story. Rachel’s unplanned pregnancy, and the fears she feels about that is the focal point of the story, and I found the way this unfolded to be very realistic. Not all women can imagine being a mother, and that is all fine and good. Rachel kind of did want to be a mother, though, but she was afraid of all […]

Review: Man Hands – Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

Review: Man Hands – Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

Man Hands brought me from laughing out loud to all hot and bothered in a New York second! (un)Conventionally Quick: Man Hands is a hilarious tale of two jilted people who find each other in a completely unexpected way. It’s a erotic rom-com (yeah, not sure that genre exists, but it sure does fit!) that made me laugh out loud, while feeling all hot and bothered at the same time. I loved both Brynn and Tom. They were hilarious in their own way, and together, they became dynamite! The friendship between Brynn and her best friends made me miss my own friends who don’t live close by. And the inner musings Tom had made me bark with laughter. I just […]

Review: End Game – Lisa Renee Jones

Review: End Game – Lisa Renee Jones

End Game brought a lot of pain to some of the characters, with the aftermath of the incredible cliffhanger in Bad Deeds… I loved the character growth in End Game, the depth this brought to various relationships, and the tension that was so thick it could be cut with a butcher knife. The suspense was breath-taking, and I had trouble sitting still while reading. The emotional pain the characters felt was tangible, and I had no idea how they would get through the incredibly difficult time they were facing. End Game took care of many loose ends, but not all. And there might be a story about one of the side characters from Dirty Money in the future. I, for […]

Audio Review: Becoming Dragon – Eve Langlais

Audio Review: Becoming Dragon – Eve Langlais

Becoming Dragon was a delightful tale, filled with humor, action, steam and more. The narration was well done, and I was so happy to have this to listen to on my commute to and from work. Story: Becoming Dragon is about… you guessed it – dragons! And it’s by Eve Langlais, so I knew I was in for some good laughs. Plus steamy romance, and I also got a rather down to earth and doubting hero. Brandon had been experimented on, and with his DNA sliced, he was in a weird hybrid form that made him think of himself as a monster. Aimi, however, did not find him to be monstrous at all. Quite the opposite, which made for some […]

Audio Review: The Baller – Vi Keeland

Audio Review: The Baller – Vi Keeland

The Baller was a hot story – the sports reporter and the professional football player started off on the wrong foot – but once they got it right, they got it good! Story: Delilah was my kind of character! In The Baller, she was a sports journalist, and she covered football. She thought she was incapable of loving anyone, because of her past, but Brody made her so mad she knew her emotions worked, at least. The first time Brody and Delilah met, she was all ready to interview him. After a game, in the locker room, and to see what she was made of, he dropped his towel. Right before she went on air. Brody was the king of […]

Audio Review: The Negotiator – Avery Flynn

Audio Review: The Negotiator – Avery Flynn

The Negotiator kept me company with laughter and steam on my way to and from work. Fun, hot and feisty, it kept things light. Story: The Negotiator helped me laugh while commuting – which is not that frequent an occurrence really. I leave the house before it’s light out, and arrive very early at work to prepare things. Getting prepared with Sawyer and Clover made everything lighter. Because his mom was always setting him up with socialites, Sawyer and his brother came up with the idea to hire a buffer. One person to keep his mom – and the bridezillas to be – at arm’s length. Only, Sawyer’s brother made sure a fun woman was the most likely candidate. One […]

Review: Now That You Mention It – Kristan Higgins

Review: Now That You Mention It – Kristan Higgins

Now That You Mention It is an incredibly well done story of homecoming, forgiveness, starting over and staying true to oneself. Story: Now That You Mention It will stay with me for a while, of that I’m sure! Nora was a character who really appealed to me. There was incredible character growth, and I enjoyed seeing the changes she made in her life to make it better. As Nora learned more about her past, it also helped her deal with the present in a better way. As soon as she could, Nora escaped from Scupper Island and all the cruel people from her school. She also felt unsafe, and was ecstatic to leave it all behind. Not really thinking about […]

Blogtour Review : Snow Balls – Tara Lain

Blogtour Review : Snow Balls – Tara Lain

Welcome to my stop on the Snow Balls blogtour! Snow Ball was a delightful story, with a lot of light-hearted situations, albeit with some underlying themes like discrimination as well. Story: As always, Lain grabbed hold of my attention and kept it from start to finish! Snow Balls was such a sweet, but still strong story! About how difficult it can be to come out of that closet. And once that happens, all the heartache and pain that come with it. This made the beginning of a new relationship very difficult, as one of the guys was way out, while the other had more or less crawled back in. Characters: JJ was the kind of character I’d like to have […]

Review: Storm Gathering – Rebecca Zanetti

Review: Storm Gathering – Rebecca Zanetti

Storm Gathering brought with it more action, more tension, more hotness and a strong plot! Story: I was so happy Storm Gathering brought me Maureen’s and Greyson’s story, as they were on the sidelines in Justice Ascending. With every book in the series, a little more about the scorpius syndrome’s mystery is uncovered. And here, some real solutions were found – until the president stepped in to make things difficult for Maureen. Between the Mercs and the Vanguard, Greyson is feeling his loyalties split. And when the president also starts meddling in Greyson’s affairs, things become even more complicated. A lot of the action in Storm Gathering unfolds in the bunker, and there is still a lot to be discovered […]

Review: So Over You – Kate Meader

Review: So Over You – Kate Meader

So Over You brought the feels big time! Both from Petrov and from Isobel, there was a lot on the line for them – professionally and personally. Story: I loved how So Over You showed a different aspect to hockey, with three estranged sisters having to direct their late father’s team, things have been rather tense of late. And Isobel knows her hockey, as she used to play in the past. She was so focused on her hockey she didn’t want anything to be in her way – not even the sexy hockey player she was falling for. That is – until he disappeared from her life. The three sisters are finally starting to open up to each other a […]
