Review: Dirty Wings – Sarah McCarry

Review: Dirty Wings – Sarah McCarry

*I received a free ARC of Dirty Wings from St. Martin’s Press / St. Martin’s Griffin via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Dirty Wings is one of the strangest stories I have read in a very long time! No real plot, no real explanation, but a wonderful friendship between two girls who seemingly have nothing in common. My Dirty Wings review: Dirty Wings is kind of a non-story in some ways. Let me explain what I mean: we meet Maia who is a prodigy piano player, she is playing, then chatting with her teacher Oscar after finishing her lesson. Her whole life is centered around the piano, and her life goal (or at least her parents’ life goal […]

Review: Lockstep – Karl Schroeder

Review: Lockstep – Karl Schroeder

*I received a free ARC of Lockstep from Tor Books via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Lockstep started out fairly slow, but once I got into the story, I was totally hooked! My Lockstep review: In a multi-planetary society, where humans have almost destroyed Earth and all its resources, Lockstep shows a way to maybe save everybody. It starts when Toby’s family and some friends are able to finally move from Earth and go to Sedna, a small planet that needs a lot of work in order to be viable. One day, Toby leaves on a small spaceship to put his family flag on a small moon called Rockette – only he disappears and only wakes up after […]

Stacking The Shelves #39 – Forgotten ARCs Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  you will be reading soon A while back, I went a little click-happy on Netgalley, and this week, I finally got an answer back. I was accepted for the following titles, that I had almost forgotten requesting: Netgalley ARCs: How The Scoundrel Seduces (The Duke’s Men #3) – Sabrina Jeffries   The third deliciously sexy novel in the New York Times bestselling Duke’s Men historical romance series, featuring an investigator who sets out to find gypsies— and unexpectedly finds love. Vacation Time!

Vacation Time!

I am writing these lines from Tuscany in Italy, where I am on vacation with my dear husband and our four children right now. Even our oldest daughter wanted to come with us – both for the beautiful beach, and for the awesome Italian dishes we can find here 🙂 So, I haven’t been able to get back to everybody on their comments this week, internet connection is iffy at best. But I promise to make it up to you when I get back home on Sunday. All my other posts this week have been scheduled in advance, and I’m really happy it’s possible to do this, so I can fully enjoy my vacation away, even if I miss all […]

Blogtour Review: Division Zero (Division Zero #1) – Matthew S. Cox

Blogtour Review: Division Zero (Division Zero #1) – Matthew S. Cox

*I received a free ARC of Division Zero from Xpresso Booktours in exchange of an honest review* Welcome to my stop on the Blogtour for Divison Zero! I am sharing my review, some of my favorite quotes, and there’s also a giveaway! Don’t be too shy to enter 🙂 My Division Zero review: Division Zero is totally my kind  of Sci-Fi! There is a very strong female protagonist, she has been through hell but survived anyway. Her mom was her worst opponent up until now, as she tried to beat the devil out of Kirsten because of her gift. The fact that her gift is being able to see and talk to ghosts in no way excused the mother’s treatment […]

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place to showcase a book we’re really looking forward to with bated breath! When her boyfriend gets her a job working at a hot Shifter bar, she runs into the last person on earth she expected to see again. Jericho isn’t the famous rock star […]

Blogtour and Giveaway: Marry Me For Money – Mia Kayla

Welcome to my stop on the Marry me for Money blogtour! I have a fabulous excerpt to share with you, and there is also a tour-wide giveaway, open for US and Canadian participants. My Marry me for Money excerpt:  Trance music dragged me closer and closer to the other room. I glanced up at the bouncer who was guarding the roped area separating the rooms. When he sidestepped to let me pass, I wondered if I could get back in again later. Music filled my ears, and my body started to move to the rhythm. I made my way toward the exterior of the dance circle. Scantily clad bodies moved and swayed against each other. When I felt small hands […]

Blogtour Review: Carrier (The Line #1) – Anne Tibbets

Blogtour Review: Carrier (The Line #1) – Anne Tibbets

*I received a free ARC of Carrier from Xpresso Booktours in exchange of an honest review* Welcome to my stop on the Carrier blogtour! I have several things to share with you, my review, some of my favorite quotes, and an international giveaway. My Carrier Review: The Carrier is set in a dark, mysterious futuristic world, and the dystopian society is very creepy. The story is relevant, and it points out what is not going so well in our current society as well. Naya is a very strong female protagonist, she has been through hell, working from a very young age, then sold to The Line once she hit puberty, she has been forced to be a prostitute for the […]
