What She Didn’t’ Know is the perfect erotic romance parody! I am still howling with laughter, and I am going to have a very hard time choosing which quotes to share for this one – I’d rather just tell you all that if you enjoy erotica, this parody will have you laugh harder than a book has in ages. I actually have six pages of highlights from only 36 pages of story!
What She Didn’t Know is filled with most of the clichés romances and erotica sometimes abound with, and it made for hilarious reading. Cassie has been in love with her boss, Seth, for a while but never acted on it. When her air-headed sister tells her about her last date, and shows off bite-marks on her neck to prove how great the sex was, Jess is afraid for her. So she agrees to go with Jess to meet this Jordan guy so she can make sure it’s safe for her sister to date this maniac.
Jordan brings his cousin with for the date, and the cousin is none other than Seth! Who turns out to be a shapeshifter. Of course, Cassie only finds out about this after the most mind-blowing sex she’s ever had in her life, and what tips her off is all the blood around Seth’s mouth. I was laughing so hard I had to put my kindle down for a few minutes, and I also had to dry my eyes so I could continue reading What She Didn’t Know. What put Cassie off the most wasn’t that Seth was a shifter, though, it was that he is so much older than her and still looks so young.
I usually really love reading both romance and erotica, but I thoroughly enjoyed how much What She Didn’t Know poked fun at all the contrived things that can happen in those stories! All of the characters are caricatures of those found in romance novels, and the story also proved that it is completely possible to write an extremely short romance and still get the point across loud and clear.
If you need a good laugh, and you aren’t averse to reading sex-scenes, you should get your hands on this little jewel right now. It’s only 36 pages, so it’s a very quick read, but What She Didn’t Know might still stay with you for a while, as you remember some of the dialogs and start to laugh uncontrollably once more 🙂
“You’re free this weekend, right?” she asked distractedly as she sent him a message. God, I hated answering that I was. It didn’t bother me too often, knowing that Jessica had such an active social life while I… didn’t. But when she took tings for granted, assuming I was free, I admit that it grated on me a bit.
That did it. I was lost. Those mounds of quivering, nerve-filled love bags had always been my Achilles heel.
I stood there like a lamb going to the slaughter as he removed my bra next.
They had to stop twice on the way to Cassie’s apartment so Seth could puke, and by the time they got there, he was halfway sober again.
Several minutes later, when she was calm again, he smoothed her hair off her face. It had grown out enough that her bangs were threatening to poke her eyeballs out.
