STS #122 – Bought Borrowed & Bagged #72

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  you will be reading soon. Bought Borrowed and Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from KMM’s Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe.

And I can hardly believe how good I was this week! It’s been a while since I added so few books to my shelves in a week 🙂

ARCs Recieved - (un)Conventional Bookviews - Bought Borrowed and Bagged Stacking the Shelves

I received an e-mail invitation to read and review the following book from the publisher, Harleqin MIRA.

What We Find cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsWhat We Find by Robyn Carr

Between the urban bustle of Denver and the high-stress environment of a career in neurosurgery, Maggie Sullivan has hit a wall. When an emergency, high-risk procedure results in the death of a teenager, Maggie finds herself in the middle of a malpractice lawsuit—and experiencing levels of anxiety she’s never faced before. It’s in this desperate moment that Maggie’s boyfriend decides he can’t handle her emotional baggage, and she’s left alone, exhausted and unsure of what her future holds. One thing is certain, though: she needs to slow down before she burns out completely, and the best place she can think to do that is Sullivan’s Crossing.
Named for Maggie’s great-grandfather, the land and charming general store at the crossroads of the Colorado and the Continental Divide trails have been passed down through the generations and now belong to Maggie’s estranged father, Sully. Though raised by her mother and stepfather after her parents divorced, Maggie has always adored Sully—despite his hands-off approach to fatherhood. When she shows up unannounced in Sullivan’s Crossing, he welcomes her with opens arms, and she relishes the opportunity to rebuild their relationship.
But when Sully has a sudden heart attack, Maggie’s world is rocked once again. Consumed with his care, she’s relieved to find that Cal Jones, a quiet and serious-looking camper, has been taking over many of Sully’s responsibilities as he recuperates. Still, Maggie is suspicious of this mysterious man’s eagerness to help—until she finds out the true reason for his deliberate isolation.
Though Cal and Maggie each struggle with loss and loneliness, the time they spend together gives Maggie hope for something brighter just on the horizon…if only they can learn to find peace and healing—and perhaps love—with each other.

I received the following title from Enchantress Design and Promo for a blogtour:

In Her Eyes cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsIn Her Eyes by Wesley Banks

When Ben Wilder is given a second chance he focuses on the one thing he’s always been good at: running. After walking on to the University of Florida Track and Field team he begins to quickly move up the national rankings, paving a path towards the NCAA Championships. Everything is going the way he planned, until the day he bumps into Casey Taylor.
New to Gainesville, and focused on her first year out of medical school, Casey is initially hesitant to let Ben into her life. But the truth is she’s worried about letting a guy near the one thing she loves most: her daughter, Emma. After one fun and fateful night Casey can no longer bury her feelings behind these excuses, and takes a chance on a guy she is slowly falling for.
Casey’s relationship with Ben starts to gradually build into a love that she has never felt before. But more importantly, Emma has taken a particular liking to Ben. As they all spend more time together Ben is forced to confront painful memories when he starts to notice something hauntingly familiar in Emma’s eyes.
After a local journalist uncovers the secret of Ben’s past their lives begin to converge on a single promise that Ben Wilder has long since made: to never give up…no matter what.

Sinner's Creed cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsSinner’s Creed by Kim Jones

“I was the demon-possessed monster and she was the innocent, naïve angel. But none of that matters. She asks, I give and right now, I’ll kill anyone who tries to stop me from giving this woman what she wants—me.”
Dirk lives in the shadows—performing hits, maintaining order, and upholding the no-holds-barred legacy of the Sinner’s Creed Motorcycle Club. A nomad with a restless spirit and a cold heart, the open road is his world. One of the few constants in his life: his desire for the one woman who has consumed his thoughts for years.
Saylor Samson grew up far from the harshness of Dirk’s world. But ever since she was seventeen she’s been drawn to this dark and mysterious man who always seemed to show up just when she needed him.
After years of fated encounters, he’s back. This time he’s taking her. This time she’s ready for the ride. But just when the darkness in Dirk’s life begins to fade, Saylor reveals a secret that puts them both to the ultimate test. Now, Dirk has to make a decision: submit to his destiny with the MC, or choose his own.

  1. I think it will take me past Easter before I get all my freebies uploaded on STS! I don’t add them to Goodreads until I blog them on my STS posts otherwise I’d be drowning in my tbr right now! Nice to see you treating yourself to a few books! Enjoy!

  2. Great haul! I see a lot of audios that I think you would grab when I am looking through the Tantor list…lol. I skip them and go for the cozies….and oh my do they have a ton of cozies lately…lol. 😉

    Happy reading!

    • LOL Stormi! I actually only asked for one from Tantor this week, a lot were farther into series I haven’t read, and I don’t want to feel like I’m lost if they have to be read or listened to in order. They do have loads of cozies lately, and I’ve even gotten a couple just for fun 😉

        Twitter:

That is the same way with some of the cozies, I only get the ones that I have started with book one, though I am not sure who your contact is but Cassandra is really cool about giving you a couple books in a series if you want it. She gave me books one thru four in a series cause I wanted to read them and they were offering out five and six. 🙂

  3. OOoh nice! Small hauls are the best! You don’t add all that much to the TBR mountain, but you still get some awesome reads out of the week as well! These are all totally new to me but I hope you enjoy each and every one of them!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  4. What He Finds and In Her Eyes both sound really good, Lexxie. I can’t wait to see what you think of them. Sinner’s Creed also looks good – I thought about requesting it but haven’t yet. And maybe it’s too late. I hope you’ll enjoy your new reads and congrats on not procuring too many this past week. 😉
I hope you had a great weekend! *BIG HUGS*
