STS #92 – Bought Borrowed and Bagged #42

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  you will be reading soon. Bought Borrowed &Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from Karen Marie Moning’s amazing Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe.

I think this is the first week the whole year when I haven’t gotten any ARCs, nor paid for any books… So I’ve been very, very good, even if I did add three new books to my kindle!

What I Bagged This Week:

Kindle Freebies:

Dissident cover - (un)Conventional Boovkiews

Dissident (Bellator Saga #1) – Cecilia London

She once was important. Now she’s considered dangerous.

In a new America where almost no one can be trusted, Caroline lies unconscious in a government hospital as others decide her fate. She is a political dissident, wanted for questioning by a brutal regime that has come to power in a shockingly easy way. As she recovers from her injuries, all she has are her memories. And once she wakes up, they may not matter anymore.

Dissident  is part contemporary romance and part political thriller, with elements of romantic suspense and speculative fiction. Told mostly in flashback, it details the budding romantic relationship between our heroine Caroline and Jack, the silver fox playboy who tries to win her heart.

Tall, Tatted and Tempting cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Tall, Tatted and Tempting (Reed Brothers #1) – Tammy Falkner

She’s locked up tight. But he might be the key.

Logan Reed is tall, tatted and tempting. Kit’s a woman with a mean right hook and a secret.

Kit wants a tattoo, but Logan sees more than she intends to share in the drawing of the tat she wants. He sees her in ways no one ever has.

Logan’s not disabled; but he hasn’t spoken in eight years. He hasn’t needed to. Until he meets Kit.

Logan doesn’t know everything about Kit. Kit doesn’t know anything about herself, until she has to sacrifice all she ever wanted to save what’s most important to him.

Queen of Someday cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Queen of Someday (Stolen Empire #1) – Sherry D. Ficklin

ONE GIRL WILL BRING AN EMPIRE TO ITS KNEES…

Before she can become the greatest empress in history, fifteen-year-old Sophie will have to survive her social-climbing mother’s quest to put her on the throne of Russia—at any cost.

Imperial Court holds dangers like nothing Sophie has ever faced before. In the heart of St. Petersburg, surviving means navigating the political, romantic, and religious demands of the bitter Empress Elizabeth and her handsome, but sadistic nephew, Peter. Determined to save her impoverished family—and herself—Sophie vows to do whatever is necessary to thrive in her new surroundings. But an attempt on her life and an unexpected attraction threatens to derail her plans.

Alone in a new and dangerous world, learning who to trust and who to charm may mean the difference between becoming queen and being sent home in shame to marry her lecherous uncle. With traitors and murderers lurking around every corner, her very life hangs in the balance. Betrothed to one man but falling in love with another, Sophie will need to decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice in order to become the empress she is destined to be.

In a battle for the soul of a nation, will love or destiny reign supreme?

  1. oh these all look so amazing!! I especially love the tall and tatted and tempting , I see that its free on B&N, so I am going to grab that one up lol I like that the hero suffers from a disability, I always love that in books, and seeing them overcome it.

  2. Great haul! Queen of Someday has such a pretty cover. I have not read any of the books in your haul this week. I’m going to check out Tall, Tatted, and Tempting for my Kindle.

I have been seeing a lot of talk about Queen of Someday. I know it’s from a smaller publisher, so I don’t feel as though it has quite the hype as you’d expect bigger titles to get. I am glad it is getting some attention though, I hope you enjoy it!
