Bought, Bagged and Wrapping it Up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews, Talk Supe and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #162 – Bought Borrowed & Bagged #112
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs you will be reading soon. Bought Borrowed and Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from KMM’ Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe. Without further ado, here’s what I bought, borrowed or bagged this past week:
Carina Press was very nice to me once more this week, as I received an e-mail filled with eARCs 🙂
Thank you, Carina Press!!
Thank you, Gallery, Loveswept and NetGalley!
This one was free at the time I one-clicked it… as if I didn’t have enough books for COYER 😉
The Sunday Post #112 – Wrapping it Up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
Oh my, I had a LOT of work this week, and it’s been a long time since I was this happy for the weekend! Of course, December will probably be pretty quiet when it comes to work, as most schools schedule finals now, and then around the finals, it’s pretty calm most of the time…
My Kindle Oasis that I bought last summer went and froze on me completely. It stays on the tree of life page, and nothing works. I can’t even do a hard restart by holding down the start button for 40 seconds 🙁 Good thing I have another kindle (or two…) so I can still read! The thing is, though, I bought that kindle when I was in Spain, so I have to deal with them about a possible repair / refund / replacement – fun times!
On Monday and Tuesday next week, Mr. Lex and I are going to Amsterdam 🙂 Just the two of us!! He’s going to practice his speed-skating in the mornings, then we’ll sight-see in the afternoons. It’s only an hour and a half by plane from Geneva to Amsterdam, and we got really cheap flights. I can’t wait 🙂
ETA: Some of you know that my oldest daughter is an artist, and she has a Society6 store – there is 20% off and free worldwide shipping this weekend only : Elinn’s Art.
This Week’s Freddy in Action:
Some of these are already on Freddy’s Instagram account.. if you have one, don’t forget to follow him;) Of course, I have my own Instagram account, too 😉 if you want to check what I’m up to most days.

Aw sorry to hear about the Oasis… that sucks. At least you have backups. Still, no fun. And have fun in Amsterdam! Cute Freddy pics, as usual. He looks so chill lol.
Hope your weekend is nice.
I know, right? Good thing I have a kindle fetish, so that I have more than one… It took me forever to download all the books I may (or may not) read for the next COYER, though 😀
So awesome that your coming to Amsterdam! You really need to check out the beautiful Waterstones on the Kalverstraat. It’s my favorite bookstore in Holland!! Not only great books, but the building is so pretty.
You’ve got a lot of new books this week. Awesome!!
I hope you have a great week and enjoy your time in Amsterdam! 😉
I can’t wait to visit a bookstore that is in a pretty building, Maureen! I know my husband will be in Haarlem both mornings to go skating, so I will have time to browse and just check things out on my own then 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
*waves to Freddy* There is nothing worse than when the ereader goes haywire. My first Kobo developed a fault after 6 months so I got it replaced and it’s been ok other than a few quirks for about 3 years now. I’m still on my first Kindle and I can’t afford to replace it so I hope to get long life from it!
I could get mine replaced, I guess, but I think I prefer the money back right now… I might try to get my hands on a new Oasis next year depending on if the price goes down or not…
My older kindle works fine, I just couldn’t resist getting one with a lot more battery time 🙂
That stinks about the Oasis – Amazon is usually good with customer service though. So many great books you got this week. Enjoy!! Hope you have a great trip and wonderful week!
It seems that I can send it back to them (in Spain – postage paid by them!) and they will reimburse me, so I’m quite happy 🙂
OOh nice new reads! All totally new to me ones! Hope you enjoy them all!
Bummer about the kindle! Especially since you bought it elsewhere. Hopefully they can help you out, but at least you got a back up! And as always, Freddy is just adorable!!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I’m really excited about all these new books, Jessica!
And actually, amazon Spain has been very helpful, and everything is on is way to be worked out very nicely 🙂
I have Roman also. I hope you enjoy your books. Freddy is cute. Have a great week!.
Diane @ Diane’s Book Blog
I can’t wait to read Roman, Diane 🙂 I hope we’ll both enjoy it.
That sucks about the Kindle. I hope you can get it fixed. Enjoy your trip to Amsterdam! I’ve always wanted to go there.
It won’t be fixed, but I’ll get a full reimbursement at least 🙂
I’m really looking forward to our trip to Amsterdam, as I’ve never been before 🙂
Awesome haul of books. I hope you love all of your books this week.
Grace @ Books of Love
Thanks Grace 🙂
Lots of sexy books you got! I also love the Freddy pics!
I know! The next few weeks will be very hot 😀
Sorry about the Oasis…I am still loving Pippa, my Paperwhite, so I’ll stick with that for now.
Enjoy those new books…and wow! Amsterdam! I’m envious. Have fun, and thanks for sharing. Freddy is sure growing!
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I did love my Voyage (which is the one I’ve reverted back to now) but the Oasis has so much longer battery life!
I’ve never been to Amsterdam, but I can’t wait 🙂
So sorry to hear about your Kindle, but glad you had another one so you weren’t completely stuck! And WOW, that looks like a lot of really great books for review! Enjoy!
Me, too! Good thing I’m a gadget obsessed reader!!
I like the description of The Way We Fall, so I went ahead and got it for my Kindle. I really love Amsterdam (have you been there before?), we went one year in April and it was joyous. Just walking around the parks was stunning. This time of year, you can stay indoors and go to one of the many amazing museums. Have a fantastic time.
I have never been to Amsterdam before, but I’ve wanted to go for a long time! I really look forward to it.
I hope we’ll both enjoy The Way We Fall 🙂
Enjoy your Amsterdam visit! And a quiet December sounds nice – you’ll be keen for the down-time given you’re always so busy with work AND study.
People are starting to get into holiday mode here too!
Yes a quiet December will be the best! Hopefully, I’ll be able to completely finish my thesis.
Ooh, Amsterdam and just the two of you. Have fun, Lexxie. Great haul this week too! And Freddy looks so grown up!
I can’t wait, Laura 🙂
Freddy sure has grown a lot lately.
Amsterdam! Puppy! Instagram account! The only thing not to love in this post is your Kindle update. :/ That’s so cool that Carina Press sent an email full of books. I loved Julianna Keyes’ books published with Carina Press. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
Have a fabulous week, Lexxie. 🙂
Check out my STS post!
I know!! Excitement on the horizon 🙂 Carina Press has started to spoil me quite a bit ever since BEA, Alyssa 🙂 And I love their romances, so it’s a good thing, too!
Sorry to hear about your Kindle but I’m glad you have a spare. Enjoy your trip to Amsterdam! I’m off to check out your daughter’s store. Have a great week!
Here’s my Sunday Post
Ohh so many books, sorry about your Kindle. Have a great week and enjoy your books 🙂
How annoying about the Kindle – that’s not supposed to happen! Other than that, you’ve have another great week and I love the pics of Freddy. How lovely to have a week-end away to look forward to in the middle of the Christmas preparations. I’m probably going to sign up for the 2017 New Release Challenge – nothing major and it will be alongside my NetGalley reads to ensure that I actually read and review them all! But I think it’s a really good idea:). Have a great week.
Oh no on the kindle! That’s always a bummer. Hope yall have an amazing little vacation! I’m totally jealous! (contemplates my weekend of having to mow the lawn lol)
That sucks about your Oasis! What a bummer! At least you have back up(s)! If my kindle died I would have to go back to reading on my iPad which I hated because of the glare. But, at least I could still read! Enjoy your awesome book haul!
Have fun in Amsterdam! I live in Belgium and I haven’t even been there yet. LOL Also just followed Freddy’s Instagram. All the cuteness! 😀

Sorry about your Kindle, good thing us bookish people always have a back up 🙂
Have a great time in Amsterdam, so jealous of all the awesome places you can go.
Freddy is so cute!
Have a wonderful week, Lexxie! Miss you LOTS! Happy Reading!
I’ve had problems with one of our Kindles, too! Like, can’t type on the keyboard so it’s un-usable, trouble. I can’t imagine having to deal with another country’s customer service to get yours fixed – it’s NOT that old!!!!!! I won’t buy another Kindle again. Like you, I do have multiple versions around the house, though.
You got a ton of books, my dear!! You are so screwed for COYER… o.O
Have an awesome time in Amsterdam!!! What a great break!!!

You got some amazing books from Carina Press they all look good. I really need to read Anna Todd’s first book on Landon but I loved her After Series so I know am going to love them. Have a great week
Twitter: kimbacaffeinate
Lexxie, that is awful about the Kindle. Although Amazon is pretty good about helping out. Loving all the titles from Carina Press. I see authors I still need to try like Sawyer. Hope your week is enjoyable!
Like your haul, though most of the books and authors totally new to me. Hope you will enjoy your new books. Have a great new week and thanks for the lovely Freddy pictures 🙂
my STS
Best wishes
Vi @ Gone With The Books
When I first saw Kimba post about the Kindle Oasis I really wanted one. I hope you can easily and quickly get yours resolved with Spain’s CS. Have fun in Amsterdam!
Good thing you have a back up Kindle lol
I’m reading a really amusing cozy mystery called “A Ghostly Reunion” by Tonya Kappes. I’m loving it.
Hope you have a great time in Amsterdam 🙂 ~Aleen
Sorry to hear about your Kindle but it is good you have a back up. I love my Nook but it is getting old and I notice I have to charge the battery more often than usual. I’m thinking of getting a Kindle or getting an iPad. Maybe Santa will surprise me with one of these at Christmas lol. I hope you have a great time in Amsterdam. Have a great week!
So sorry to hear about your Kindle 🙁 What a pain! Good thing you have a backup so that you can keep reading. You picked up some great books this week. I added Roman to my account as well. Have a great week and a fun trip.
I’m sorry to hear about your Kindle, that is a bummer. Although, it is lucky that you have a back-up. I had been having some issues with my paperwhite freezing, fortunately the screen was just a little dirty and was effecting the touchscreen — that will teach me to eat while I read. Have a great time in Amsterdam, it sounds fantastic!
So sorry for the death of your Kindle! Hope work slows down for you in December, as predicted!
Twitter: Mlsimmons
I’m really sorry to hear about your ereader. You just gave me a great reason to buy another one. I only have one, so I do need a backup, riiiight?? LOL I do hope your week slows down, but glad you’re keeping busy. Sounds like a fun trip in the future. Enjoy. 🙂
Have a great trip with your husband. It is always nice to get away. Sorry about the Kindle, glad you have a back-up. Happy reading.
I hope you’re enjoying your trip so far!!! It’s wonderful you’re getting to get away with Mr. Lex, just the two of you. 😉 I can’t wait to see photos. And hopefully we’ll be able to chat later this week and get caught up. You hauled in some great looking books this week. I admit I might be a little “green”. *grins*
That’s terrible about your Kindle…I’ve not heard of this happening. Have you? I’m sorry for the hassle it might be but I’m very happy you have a backup…or two. 😉
MISS YOU!! *BIG HUGS*
You went to Amsterdam? You must have been so close to me! Hehehee :3 And I am glad things will be winding down for you soon! It’s a shame about your Kindle freezing, but great that you can still read on back ups. I can’t imagine having more than one kindle, but if that’s your main way of reading then it makes sense!
Yes, we did go to Amsterdam, but only two days. I didn’t even think of the fat that you live close to the city, Olivia. If I go back, I’ll let you know.
I got my first kindle way back when they were first released – and it’s both a bit big and quite heavy. And I don’t have all that much room in it. I let my children use my ‘older’ kindles now, so I had to go bribe my oldest daughter to get one back for a while D:
