Top Ten Tuesday – Top Ten Books I’ve read so far this year

This week on Top Ten Tuesday we are discussing the books that are the best we’ve read so far this year. I’m thinking we need to make up a new meme called top twenty or thirty so I can keep all the great books on my list 😉 Top Ten Tuesdays is a fun meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we share our excitement for books, and I really like how this meme makes me think about the books I read, why I read them, and who to recommend my favorite reads to. So, here we go :
As usual, my list is in no particular order :

Ten Tiny Breaths - (un)Conventional BookviewsTen Tiny Breaths by K. A. Tucker is a NA contemporary romance, but with lots of very hard subjects treated. I cried so hard at one point I couldn’t even read anymore. But I also laughed out loud in several places.

 

One Tiny Lie - (un)Conventional BookviewsOne Tiny Lie is the 2nd book in K. A. Tuckers series and I loved this one as much as I loved Ten Tiny Breaths!

 

Pushing the Limits - (un)Conventional BookviewsPushing the Limits is another NA book, this one is written by Katie McGarry. Also some hard stuff to read about, but really great! I loved the story and the characters so much.

Dare You To - (un)Conventional BookviewsDare you To is the 2nd book in Katie McGarry’s series, and I’m starting to feel like I have a theme going here… It can’t be helped, I’m a huge fan of NA!

 

hopelessHopeless by Colleen Hoover just blew me away! So beautiful, and at the same time, so sad.

 

Thank You For Riding - (un)Conventional BookviewsThank you for Riding is a hot and sexy read by Meg Maguire, and it was fun to read 🙂

 

The Testing - (un)Conventional BookviewsThe Testing by Joelle Charbonneau is excellent. I loved Cia!

 

The Eternity Cure - (un)Conventional BookviewsA list with favorite books can’t be complete without at least one book by Julie Kagawa, right? So I bring you The Eternity Cure from her Blood of Eden series – excellent, with scary vampires and a quest for a better place and life.

First Rule of Swimming - (un)Conventional BookviewsThe First Rule of Swimming by Courtney Angela Brkic touched my heart and I thought the story was so tender. Loved it!

 

Switching - (un)Conventional BookviewsSwitching by Jody Kihara was such a different story with time travel in it, and it was really well done!

      I think I might actually like Ten Tiny Breaths even more that Pushing the Limits… not sure if it’s possible, but it was truly awesome as well!

      Oh yes, Hopeless is awesome, and so are Katie McGarry’s books. I know what you mean, though, those pesky review-books 🙂 I love getting them, but I need to slow down a little – there are many other books I’d like to read as well.

      Oh yes, PtL and DYT were excellent. Ten Tiny Breaths is as well, and it’s the same age group, but different subject matter! I cried. Hard.
