How The Scoundrel Seduces (The Duke’s Men #3) – Sabrina Jeffries

The third deliciously sexy novel in the New York Times bestselling Duke’s Men historical romance series, featuring an investigator who sets out to find gypsies— and unexpectedly finds love.
Investigator Tristan Bonnaud has one aim in life— to make sure that his half-brother George can’t ever ruin his life again. So when the pesky Lady Zoe Keane, the daughter of the Earl of Olivier, shows up demanding that the Duke’s Men find a mysterious gypsy woman, he seizes the opportunity to also hunt for a gypsy friend who knows secrets about George. Tristan doesn’t expect to uncover Lady Zoe’s family secrets, as well… or end up falling for the woman who will risk all to discover the truth.

My Teaser sentences:

[dropshadowbox align=”center” effect=”lifted-both” width=”450px” height=”” background_color=”#e0c0d7″ border_width=”2″ border_color=”#674ea7″ ]She winced. Not hell. Ladies didn’t so much as think the word hell, not even ladies whose papas used the word regularly while teaching their daughters how to manage the estates they would one day inherit.

The images that rose in her mind made her curse her wild imagination. Ladies weren’t supposed to think about that either.[/dropshadowbox]

What’s your teaser today? Please share – it’s not as if a few more books on my TBR mountain will make that big of a difference 😉

    • I loved it 🙂 But I’m a huge fan of historical romance with un-conventional heroines.

      Thanks for stopping by, Beth.

    • Cynthia, it was awesome! I love historicals where the heroines are a little outside the norm 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by.

    • No, ladies were simply supposed to know how to keep a good house, and be obedient little wives…
      Thanks for stopping by, Kay.

  1. I have nothing to share to you, my friend. Your teaser reminded me of the good old days where women has a lot of restrictions and cursing is totally unladylike. I am so happy that I was born on the 20th century because I actually love saying the word “hell”… And I like using it to express extreme happiness or anger.

    “I am happy as hell”
    “Like hell you will..”

It can even be used as a filler if you’re at loss for words. I do hope that Zoe will find a way to liberate herself from the restrictions of that era.

Thanks for teasing us, Lexxie! Have a good day ahead!

    • Both ‘hell’ and ‘fuck’ can be used as fillers for a lot of things, Charlotte. I probably wouldn’t have survived in those times, not having the right to speak my mind, and actually be able to deal with things on my own… Good thing I can read about that period now, but I love it when the heroines are a little different.

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

    • And Tristan is such an awesome scoundrel, too. I’ve been waiting to get to know him better since the first The Duke’s Men book 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by.

    • LOL Berls, you definitely called it! Hell definitely was the least of her ‘problems’ 😀
      Thanks for stopping by.

    • I don’t think I’d have survived in those times! Both because of language and because of the way women were expected to dress and act 😀
      Thanks for stopping by, Lizzy.

    • I love the teasers, too, and more often than not, I end up adding a book to my TBR based just on those.
      Thanks for stopping by Kristalyn.

    • Well this is often the case in historical romance novels, Lola, and I rather enjoy that, especially when the heroines have the capacity to not fit into the little box society wants them in 😉 And the writing is really pretty!
      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

    • As do I, Jessica 🙂 And this series is both hot, mysterious and has awesome heroines.

      Thanks for stopping by.
