Review ~ NOS4A2 ~ Joe Hill

Review ~ NOS4A2 ~ Joe Hill

Oh my! I don’t think I could’ve chosen a better *horror* book than NOS4A2 for COYER’s Outside Your Box Read-a-thon. I don’t read horror anymore. In fact, I haven’t read any in about 30 years so horro was a no-brainer when thinking of reading outside my box. While JHill didn’t shy away from the violence that defines this genre, at least in my mind, the story took precedence and it was a creative, creepy, and thought-provoking tale. I’m not going to say much about the book because if you haven’t read this, you should go in blind like I did. Audio Review ~ The Duchess Deal ~ Tessa Dare

Audio Review ~ The Duchess Deal ~ Tessa Dare

I was giggle-snorting in the first few minutes of The Duchess Deal. Between Emma’s antics and Ashbury’s reactions to them, I knew I was in for an entertaining romp. Mary Jane Wells once again impressed me with her narrating skill. All in all, this was an aural delight! She happens upon the Duke at a serendipitous moment as he’s just determined he’s in need of a wife with a few qualifications. All of which Emma meets – most […]

Audio Review ~ The Rogue Not Taken ~ Sarah MacLean, Justine Eyre

Audio Review ~ The Rogue Not Taken ~ Sarah MacLean, Justine Eyre

The Rogue Not Taken was in my introduction to both SMacLean and JEyre and the meeting was a pure delight! SMacLean crafted a story that was riveting, humorous, exciting, heartbreaking and heartwarming while JEyre brought the characters to life. I’m eager to continue this series in audio. Highlights Plot I really enjoyed the circumstances under which Sophie and Eversley meet. SMacLean employed both humor and heartbreak in their meeting and in their subsequent journey together. There was also quite a bit of suspense due to the fact that Sophie was gallivanting around England unchaperoned. All these elements were well balanced and made for an exciting story as both Sophie and Eversley worked towards what they wanted in life – to […]
