Review: The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines #3) – Richelle Mead

Review: The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines #3) – Richelle Mead

Oh, Adrian, how you grew in The Indigo Spell, I start to understand those who loved you dearly in Vampire Academy better and better with each Bloodlines book! Sydney also made some changes in The Indigo Spell, she understood more about the Alchemists, and also more about her own powers. It was really wonderful to read about the new adventures our merry little gang of vampires, dhampirs and alchemists went through. Both Sydney and Adrian continued to grow, as they had started to already in The Golden Lily. Review: The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden #1) – Julie Kagawa

Review: The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden #1) – Julie Kagawa

*I received a free ARC of The Immortal Rules from Harlequin Teen via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* I don’t even know where to start in my praise for The Immortal Rules. I loved every single thing about it. The world-building was extremely well done, I could see the gritty, half-rotten buildings in my mind. I could smell the mold, and my stomach was churning with hunger. Both the character-driven story and the way the plot moved forward was expertly done as well. I felt connected to several of the characters, not only the main ones, they were well fleshed out and it was actually possible to understand their motivations. Even when I didn’t agree with their thinking, […]

Review: House Rules (Chicagoland Vampires #7) – Chloe Neill

Review: House Rules (Chicagoland Vampires #7) – Chloe Neill

House Rules picks up soon after the ending of Biting Cold. The pacing is fast and furious, and Merit has to fight practically on all sides in this one. Review: Fury’s Kiss (Dorina Basarb #3) – Karen Chance

Review: Fury’s Kiss (Dorina Basarb #3) – Karen Chance

Fury’s Kiss is the third book in the Dorina Basarb series, and I have to say I’m very happy Dorina is back! She is one of those strong heroines, who can fight with the best of them, but who is still vulnerable enough to hug her best friend and be coddled when she’s feeling sad about something. She is also a no-nonsense woman, she knows what she wants, what she doesn’t want – and does her best to get her way – no matter who she’s up against.   Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Review: Wild About You (Love at Stake #13) – Kerrelyn Sparks

*I received a free ARC of Wild About You from Avonbooks / Harper Voyager via Edelweiss in exchange of an honest review.* Love at Stake is my favorite series, and Wild About You lived up to my expectations. The mystery that went on from Wanted Undead or Alive was well done, and I was a happy reader indeed. Review: Twist (Mageri #2) – Dannika Dark

Review: Twist (Mageri #2) – Dannika Dark

Twist picks up shortly after the end of the story in Sterling (Mageri#1). Silver is still the wonderful and strong female protagonist I loved in book one, and she continues to learn how to take care of herself, fight, and use her new powers under Justus’ guard. She also continues to be strong-minded and fiercely loyal to those she feels close to. The scenes with Silver and Simon in them are simply hilarious! He is a riot, and I love the way he has game nights with Silver twice per week, both to get her out of Justus’ underground house, and to keep himself entertained. Review: Wanted: Undead or Alive (Love at Stake #12) – Kerrelyn Sparks

Review: Wanted: Undead or Alive (Love at Stake #12) – Kerrelyn Sparks

Wanted: Undead or alive left me with a first impressionl, I, who often don’t even notice covers, have to just mention this cover. That guy on the cover just can’t be Dr. Phang! Dr. Phang is black – that guy over there is definitely not black. I don’t understand why someone else is on the cover of Phang’s book. There, now that’s off my chest. Wanted: Undead or Alive was quite slow in comparison to the other books in this series, but the relationship budding between Phinneas and Brynley was well suited to go slow. And it permitted the readers to really get to know both of them a lot better, and to understand their hang-ups and their defensive mechanisms. […]

Time Untime (Dark Hunter #22) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Time Untime (Dark Hunter #22) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Time Untime – book 22 in one of my favorite series was quite different from the rest of the books in some ways, and very similar in others. The biggest difference for me was that I didn’t really love Ren all that much 🙁 I get that his extremely long life has been difficult, and that he has never known love, but the self-loathing was really hard to read about, and made it less enjoyable to read than I would have liked.  I totally loved Kateri, though, and both Ash and Nick showed up to save the day, and I love both of them as well, so there were lots of things to like in this instalment, even if there […]

Biting Cold (Chicagoland Vampires #6) – Chloe Neill

Biting Cold (Chicagoland Vampires #6) – Chloe Neill

This review contains spoilers from books 4 and 5 in the series, so if you haven’t read those yet, you should probably stop reading right now… Biting Cold is about redemption. For Mallory, for Ethan, for Merit and for Seth. I had a little trouble getting into the world of Chicagoland again, after having been quite disappointed with the two prior books. I was devastated at the end of book 4, when Ethan died. And I was not happy with the way he was brought back from the dead at the end of book 5. Biting Cold started with Ethan and Merit chasing after the Maleficius, and a fight with Seth on the way to were it was hidden. The […]

Review: The Shifting Price of Prey (Spellcrackers.com #4) – Suzanne McLeod

Review: The Shifting Price of Prey (Spellcrackers.com #4) – Suzanne McLeod

*I received a free ARC from the author in exchange of an honest review of this book* The Shifting Price of Prey picked up a few months after the end of The Bitter Seed of Magic, and Genny is herself – business as usual. There is a lot of humor in this book, and I love the laugh-out-loud moments it helped me have 🙂 even if it’s sometimes a little weird trying to explain to people why I’m laughing when I’m sitting with my kindle… Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.
