Review: He Will Be My Ruin – K.A. Tucker

Review: He Will Be My Ruin – K.A. Tucker

It took me a while to get words to explain the brilliance that is He Will Be My Ruin! This suspense / mystery / psychological thriller is well done, with a complex plot, and fleshed out characters. I’ve been a Tucker fan for a long time, and I have to say, her branching out to mystery and thriller like He Will Be My Ruin was a great move! She managed to keep the suspense going, and I was seriously out of breath several times, especially when Maggie was starting to have a panic attack. The beginning was very sad and nostalgic, because Maggie came to New York not to spend time with her best friend Celine, but to pack up […]

Review: Irresistible Refrain – Michelle Mankin

Review: Irresistible Refrain – Michelle Mankin

Irresistible Refrain is an irresistible story of a broken girl and the boy she’s loved since she was little. Music, a fast-paced life and the fact that she’s with his best friend instead of him made this so compelling! Lace was so very lost, and being back in the Tempest tour bus didn’t really change any of that. Even as she had been away from the band for a long time, she picked up her relationship with War as soon as she came back, even if Bryan was looking at her differently than usual at this time. Irresistible Refrain showed the ugly side of the music industry, especially when it came to War and Lace. Drug-use, not taking care of […]

Review: Hearts and Flour – Tara Lain

Review: Hearts and Flour – Tara Lain

Hearts and Flour is a sweet and sexy story, with so many food-quotes I’m still trying to count them all 🙂 Micah and Quentin happen to meet each other at a un-Valentine party for single people… while Micah has always known he’s gay, there is something about one of the girls at the party that really touches him, and he understand why when he realizes Quentin sometimes likes to dress like a girl. They have a very hot and heavy encounter, and they both want more. However, Micah just got out of a very toxic relationship, and Quentin isn’t exactly out of the closet yet – neither as gay, nor as a man who enjoys women’s clothing and make-up every […]

Review: Passenger 19 – Ward Larsen

Review: Passenger 19 – Ward Larsen

Passenger 19 is a fast paced suspense novel in which an investigator for the NTSB has to fly to Columbia to conduct an investigation he has a very personal interest in. I was immediately intrigued when I read the summary for Passenger 19, because a guy who is used to investigating airplane crashes has some pretty tough knowledge. However, when he knows that his only daughter – his only relative, really – was on board a plane that went missing over the jungle in Colombia, he has a whole other problem to deal with. His boss at the NTSB still wanted Jammer for the job, though, because he thought Jammer would have the best incentive ever to get to the […]

Review: Unconventional – Avery Aster

Review: Unconventional – Avery Aster

Unconventional is a hot, fun and yes, very unconventional read. Fans of Avery’s Manhattanites will love Unconventional, both because of the humour that is familiar to them and because characters they already know are a part of the story. Rocco and Luigi have been feeling that Jemma has withdrawn from the both in recent months, and while they understand that she has been under a lot of pressure, they want to add a little on their own – they want to marry her and be a family, the three of them together. The story is a little over the top, but it’s hot, and it’s filled with quite a bit of humour, so I quite enjoyed myself! Because I’m not […]

Review: Rock Chick Revolution – Kristen Ashley

Review: Rock Chick Revolution – Kristen Ashley

Righteous! Ren and Ally were total awesomeness, Rock Chick Revolution was definitely the best of the best in this series! My Rock Chick Revolution review: Ren is my favorite male character in this whole series, and he’s not even officially one of the hot bunch! A guy who is tough, macho and alpha is all good and well, however, when he is able to have his woman’s back 100%, even when the work she does is not something he’d want her to do; he becomes something more than alpha, he becomes a super-alpha, one that can melt your heart, and one who truly deserves his heroine! Rock Chick Revolution showed how strong the feelings between Ren and Ally were, partly […]

Review: What Was Mine – Helen Klein Ross

Review: What Was Mine – Helen Klein Ross

What Was Mine was a strong story, touching on a very difficult subject, made even more difficult because it followed the baby who was kidnapped, her biological mother, and the woman who raised her (after kidnapping her). There were a lot of things I really enjoyed in What Was Mine, and one of them was that the author actually managed to make me understand, and partly even feel sorry for, Lucy. After years of trying to get pregnant, Lucy’s husband decided their lives were just fine without a child, whereas Lucy continued to long for a baby with everything she had! This difference of opinion ended their marriage, and Lucy lived alone in their house in New Jersey for a […]

Review: Back in Black – Lori Foster

Review: Back in Black – Lori Foster

Back in Black is filled with hot fighters, strong-willed women, romance and quite a bit of action. Back in Black was like time-travel for me, as I have read all Foster’s Ultimate stories, and the SBC Fighters series include some characters that show up there as well. Gillian and Drew were both great characters, and I loved the chemistry between them. However, there was another couple that started their romance as well, Brett and Audrey, and the fact that I had to follow two couples instead of just one made me feel like I didn’t really get fully invested in either of them. Don’t take me wrong – all four characters were great, and I enjoyed their interactions as well […]

Review: Enticing Interlude – Michelle Mankin

Review: Enticing Interlude – Michelle Mankin

Enticing Interlude was definitely enticing, and if not for the way Bridget reacted when a stranger (to her) told her lies about Justin, I’d have given this 5 stars – but that just frustrated me too much! Enticing Interlude is Justin’s story, as he takes over as lead vocalist in Tempest after War leaves the band behind in a fit. At first, it’s hard for Justin to find his place, especially because Bryan is weary of him and the connection he has to Lace. When Lace’s friend from rehab, Bridget, arrives with her young son, however, Justin is completely taken with both of them. And he finally understands that having one-night-stands with groupies will never make him happy. Bridget has […]

Blogtour Review: Tackling the Tight End – Tara Lain

Blogtour Review: Tackling the Tight End – Tara Lain

Welcome to my stop on the Tackling the Tight End blogtour. I have my review and favorite quotes as usual, and there are other goodies here for me to share with you as well! This Blogtour is hosted by Enchantress Design and Promo. Tackling the Tight End is the third instalment in Lain’s Long Pass Chronicles series, and it features the ‘bad guy’ from the first book as one of the main characters. The story is filled with conflict, both external and internal, and it was sweet in some moments, and pretty dark in others. At the beginning of Tackling the Tight End, I had a little bit of trouble getting into the story being about Dennis, he was such […]
