Review: His Turn – J. A. Huss

Review: His Turn – J. A. Huss

His Turn was quite different from what I expected, the plot was definitely twisted, and there was a lot of darkness. Bric needed to work quite a bit in order to move forward with his life after the last game ended. Bric was not only in a dark place, he seemed to like it there, too! His Turn showed how demotivated he was with everything after Quin and Smith left him behind to be with their women. Nadia was an enigma, though, it took me a long time to figure anything out about her at all, and while I enjoyed the way she seemed to be one step ahead of Bric, I think I might have enjoyed it even more […]

Review: Hard Rules – Lisa Renee Jones

Review: Hard Rules – Lisa Renee Jones

Hard Rules is a suspenseful read, but I found the first half to be too slow… Things definitely picked up towards the end, though, and I’m happy to have the next book already on my kindle! Hard Rules had characters with so many secrets it almost made me dizzy! Emily and Seth met by chance, and Emily was on edge from the beginning. They met again the same day, after Seth finished work, and he persuaded her to have dinner with him – and then he brought her home with him. Their attraction was hot and instant, and for the first part of the book, that was the main part of the story. Attraction, seduction, secrets, and lust. The slowness […]

Review: Lost and Found Sisters – Jill Shalvis

Review: Lost and Found Sisters – Jill Shalvis

Shalvis hit it way out of the ballpark with Lost and Found Sisters! What a strong story, with characters who made my heart both swoon and ache. Lost and Found Sisters is a bit different from Shalvis’ usual novels, but still has the same feel to it. A deep story, where Quinn, the main character makes several discoveries about herself, which in turn brings her to move out of LA to a small village to try to find her way, while also getting to know some people that will become very important to her. The main theme in Lost and Found Sisters is family, and what exactly family is. Does it have to mean those people we are related to […]

#Review: Where Have All the Scoundrels Gone – Donna Cummings

#Review: Where Have All the Scoundrels Gone – Donna Cummings

Where Have All the Scoundrels Gone was a delightful tale of three cousins, a scheming Dowager aunt, and three young women who thought they had given up on love. Sprinkled with Cummings humor, the characters moved the story forward with romance and wooing. Where Have All the Scoundrels gone was such a fun read, the three cousins all thought they were smarter than their dowager aunt, who had assembled twenty young debutantes for them to woo and marry as soon as possible. They weren’t having it, though, and rather went for three slightly older ladies instead. The seduction was well done, and I felt wooed as well, because these cousins could truly bring it! In true Cummings style, Where Have […]

Review: Deadly Silence – Rebecca Zanetti

Review: Deadly Silence – Rebecca Zanetti

Deadly Silence was packed with action, danger and romance, and I couldn’t set the book down until I had finished reading! This series is even more fast paced than the Sin Brothers series, and that’s saying something. Deadly Silence is the first in a spin-off of the Sin Brothers series, and I do think it’s important to read that series first to get some of the things that happen this one. Especially when it comes to some of the mystery surrounding the blood brothers. And there is so much action in this story it was at such a break-neck speed it was hard to catch my breath more than once! I enjoyed both the backstory and the present story, both were important […]

Review: Until it Fades – K.A. Tucker

Review: Until it Fades – K.A. Tucker

Until it Fades features an extremely hot hockey player, a single-mom waitress and a strong connection that one of them wants to keep private. Catherine and Brett didn’t exactly meet, but at the beginning of Until it Fades, Catherine saved Brett’s life seconds after the car his friend was driving hit a tree and was on fire. She managed to leave the scene without any journalists bothering her, but when she realized that the man she saved was a famous hockey player, she felt the need to hide from the public eye. When she was still in high school, the public had judged her harshly, and she had no wish to end up with busybodies talking about her again. Ever. Until […]

Reveiw: Claim & Protect – Rhenna Morgan

Reveiw: Claim & Protect – Rhenna Morgan

Claim & Protect was such a wonderful story, with heartache, friendship, suspense, love, romance and loyalty. Trevor and Natalie really worked very well for me! Claim & Protect did as well. Especially because the kinds of secrets Trevor kept, and the way he might do some bad things for all the right reasons appealed to me so much. Because Trevor was Natalie’s boss, she wanted to stay way clear of him, however, that became impossible once he realised that her ex was making trouble not only for her, but for her son as well. Claim & Protect was filled with both suspense and a tantalising romance, and I loved both! The characters were well developed and grew throughout the story. […]

Reveiw: No One But You – Brenda Novak

Reveiw: No One But You – Brenda Novak

No One But You had all the romance, the suspense and the strong characters I’ve come to know and love when I pick up a Novak novel. Jayden and Dawson weren’t very likely to become romantically involved, and that just made their romance better in my opinion! No One But You showed that the one person who may seem respectable on the outside may be far from it, while the one other people think badly on have mostly good qualities and can be both loyal and trustworthy. Dawson had been through more than just a rough patch, accused of killing his adoptive parents, he was finally judged not guilty by a court and the jury, however, his townspeople weren’t so […]

Review: Lord of Pleasure – Erica Ridley

Review: Lord of Pleasure – Erica Ridley

Lord of Pleasure was a delightful read with masquerade balls, a scandalous rakish Earl and a mousy, but respectable lady. I had such fun reading this story, and can’t wait for more in this well done series Lord of Pleasure was a delicious treat to the senses! The masquerade balls were such a perfect opportunity for both Lord Wainwright and Miss Camellia to actually be themselves, not the person society had forced them into by labelling them. Wainwright showed up in the scandal sheets’ caricatures more often than he liked, and Camellia was starting to think that being the good sister wasn’t working so well for her. Not when her parents had decided to marry her off to a man […]

Review: Murphy’s Law – Lori Foster

Review: Murphy’s Law – Lori Foster

Murphy’s Law was fun! And sweet. And romantic. And filled with suspense and danger, too. Foster never fails to delight me, and I have to say that Murphy’s Law hit the right spot. Ashley and Quinton were both characters I could relate to, even if they are very different from me. Ashley really touched me, because she was such an independent woman, but still managed to ask for help when she needed it. And she definitely knew when she should stop being stubborn, and make sure she and the people she cared about would stay safe… at least as safe as possible. The friendships in Murphy’s Law spoke to me as well, and I enjoyed wedding planning, hanging out, being […]
