Weekend Wrap-up #196 – Sun / Rain – rinse and repeat

Posted 22 July, 2017 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 47 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews, Reading Reality, and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #196

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

ARCs Recieved - (un)Conventional Bookviews - Bought Borrowed and Bagged Stacking the Shelves

Lady Be Bad - (un)Conventional Bookviews weekend wrap-up

Thank you Avon and Edelweiss

Purchased - (un)Conventional Bookviews bought borrowed and bagged stacking the shelves

I bought a whole bunch of books this last week… I’m preparing for a signing I’m going to in September, and there were some authors I haven’t read that  my blogger friends said I would love, and so I went on a nice one-click-spree…

I got Hello Forever, Rookie Move, and Hard Hitter by Sarina Bowen, Bossed by Sloan Howell (which was hilarious!), This is Falling and You & Everything After by Ginger Scott, and finally, Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon.

The Sunday Post #146 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

My husband and the boys drove back home on Wednesday, as my husband and oldest son have to work, and my other son didn’t want to stay here with just his youngest sister and me… That’s OK, though, as we get to spend some good mother-daughter time together.

On Thursday, I had planned a little outing by car that had to be canceled. When we arrived in our parking garage (which is closed and private!) This is what my car looked like:

So the left rear tire is flat, and there are several gauges made by keys on the left backside as well… The strange thing is – the tire isn’t broken, it appears that someone just let the air out… no idea who I’ve managed to piss off, or if it’s just random :O

  1. What an ugly thing to do to your car!

Neat book haul though. I imagine its fun anticipating the book event in September with all those goodies arriving. 🙂

    • I know, right? The mechanic said he thought someone might have pinged my car when they were leaving their own parking space, and got upset about it… I mean, it’s our space, but we’re only here in Spain part of the year, so most of the time it’s empty.

It is fun to anticipate a book event and read books by authors that are new to me 🙂

      Have a great weekend, Sophia!

  2. Oh no! That’s terrible and kinda scary about your car! Hopefully your insurance can help get things set to rights! As always Freddy is just too cute!

Nice new reads too! Totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • Yeah, my insurance will help. The thing that got to me was that this could have been when I got to the car with my luggage, all ready to drive home, only to have a flat tire to deal with. *sighs*

Have a great week ahead, Jessica!

  3. I’m so sorry to hear about your car. That’s horrible. People can be so cruel sometimes.

I hope you have a great time at the book signing. I would love to go to an event like that one day. Hope you have a better week this week!

  4. Thats scary to hear someone doing that to your car. I mean some people have no balls. I hope you love all of your new books.

  5. One click is way too useful sometimes…I can’t stand cowards who decide to just damage a car, whether it is random or targeted at someone. Enjoy your books.

  6. Oh, I hate to find a flat tire…or scratches. Glad it was just the air let out, though; the last time I had that unpleasant surprise, the tire was gouged and I had to spend hours at the tire shop getting a new one.

Enjoy your vacation…and Freddy looks like he loves the beach.

I’m curious about The Night Child. Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

    • Yeah, I’m glad it was just the air let out, too! I can’t imagine having the patience to do that, though – it takes a long time!
Freddy does love the beach, but I don’t dare taking him to the part of the beach where dogs are allowed. There are so many dogs off their leashes there, and I know a small dog was attacked there a while back 🙁

  7. I am so sorry to see what happened to your car!! Some people just like to cause trouble. I hope you and your daughter have a great time together despite the car issues! Enjoy your books!

    • I know! And I’m over it now – especially after realising I didn’t have to dish out money to buy a new tire 😀
My daughter and I are having a great time. We’re lazy, going to the beach or for walks with Freddy. Or just staying inside, reading 🙂

  8. One clicking is the best, there’s so little time to stop yourself ha ha! Hope they’re good reads!!

Sorry to hear about your vehicle, that’s ridiculous that someone would do that . I don’t know about people sometimes. Hope the next week is better as far as that goes and you don’t have any further trouble.

    • I have no restraint, though… so my one-clicking sprees usually make me end up with WAY too many books 😀

I’m glad the tire only needed air, and that I didn’t have to buy a new one. I have no idea why people would think it’s OK to do that to someone else’s car, either.

  9. Oh my god, why would someone do that to another person’s car. =/ Aside from that hope you’ll enjoy your new books. I like the sound of Lady Be Bad. I’m really into historical romances lately so it definitely caught my eye. 🙂

  10. Berls
    Twitter:

Oh no! I’m sorry about the car… Did you file a police report? I’m glad the tire wasn’t actually broken, that at least makes getting her up and running easier. But how scary! I sure hope it was random – much better to be a target by bad luck than someone’s rage!

Enjoy your mother daughter time 🙂 HUGS! MISS YOU!!

  11. Freakin’ people!!! What a pain in the butt! I’m so sorry someone messed you and yours like that, even if it was only letting the air out and scratching the clear coat or paint. They touched your stuff, man!!! Boooo!!!

That’s so cool you’re going to a book signing soon! I can’t wait to hear about it – fun!! And oops, I’ve scheduled my Wildfire review for Monday, too. Hope that’s okay 😀

    Have a great week!!

  12. oh it looks like you got some great books there. I am pretty excited to read Megan Frampton’s book. I am sorry to hear about your car though, weird and crazy, but Karma right? But really who does that?

  13. Ugh! Sorry about your car. Someone hit our car while it was parked at the store and my husband didn’t notice until he got home. We have no idea who did it and it’s a pretty good bump. I was so mad.

I hope you enjoy your time with your daughter that is one of my favorite things to do 🙂

Have a great week, Lexxie! Happy Reading! ox

  14. Oh no! I’m so sorry about your car. What an awful thing to do!

I’m glad you got to spend some nice time with your family though – Freddy looks like he also enjoyed?

Have a good week this week and I hope you enjoy your new reads!

  15. That Brenda Novak book looks good! And that’s nice you went on a shopping spree. I have a few of Sarina Bowen’s books, but haven’t read any of them yet.

I am sorry to hear about your car damage, that must’ve been a shock to see your car like that.

Freddy seems to enjoy the beach :). Have a great week!

  16. That is awful! I hope who ever did it gets what they deserve. I hope this doesn’t ruin your vacation. Mother-daughter time sounds like fun. I like doing that with my daughters too. I hope you have a better week and a great time with your daughter.

  17. Great haul! That was an awful thing that happened. I never could understand why someone would do that to a car. Hope you still had a good mother/daughter time. Great Freddy Pics. 🙂

  18. Oh sorry about the car. I would be SO freaked out. It happened to us once last year. It appeared to be random since it was the first time we were at the place but still…
Anyway, glad to hear that you had an amazing week, reading wise. All Five starred books in a week. I wish it could happen to me. It would be like heaven!

Have a wonderful week filled with amazing books. Happy reading my friend.

  19. That’s a shitty thing they did to your car! I also noticed today my passenger door handle had been marked all up with keys in vertical swipes. It upsets me so much that people are so disrespectful and outright destructive to other people who have worked hard for what they have. I hope you enjoy the rest of your Spain trip with your daughter – and all those books!

  20. So sorry your car was damaged! I hope the repair bill isn’t too big. I am glad you had some mother-daughter-Freddy time. Those moments are important.
