The Sunday Post #37 – Weekly Wrap-up

Welcome to my Sunday Post. Thank you to Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere. We are half-way through the year this week, and that’s really weird to me, I feel like we just celebrated the start of 2015, and here we are, summer, vacation time, no school… We are leaving for Spain early tomorrow morning, and I’m planning on staying there with my youngest daughter for seven weeks. I do have some papers to write for Uni, but that shouldn’t really be a problem.

My two youngest had their end of school party on Friday, and it was a lot of fun. They both need a good break now, so the sea and the sun will be good for them. The older kids need to be able to relax a bit and just have fun, too, as do my husband and I. Three of my kids went up on the nearest mountain with their cousin this week, and here’s the view they had of Geneva. That’s Lake Geneva and the city center down there 🙂

The class councils went well, all my students who were in danger were allowed to either do the year over, and two were able to pass to the next grade with some comments from the teachers about how they should improve their work methods. I also got news that I will be able to substitute in the same school for the first two weeks after the summer vacation, and I’m very happy about that! At least I’ll have those two weeks, and that will also permit me to see all the other English teachers at the beginning of the year, so maybe they’ll think of me when they have to be away from their class… The pictures below are from the two days I walked to school last week for the councils. I’m so lucky to be able to walk, and that the path takes me through the fields on my way to work!

  1. All good news, i’m happy for you ! Walking to work through green areas sound like a dream. I tried taking pictures from the train on my way to work, I travel through some lovely landscapes too along the Seine, but they were blurry. Enjoy the sun, the heat, the sea and the Spanish food 😉 And the mandatory naps early in the afternoon ! Have a great vacation Lexxie, mwah !

    • I think I look forward to the mandatory naps in the afternoon the most, Iza 😉 then, the time with my husband and the kids, on the beach, relaxing and just enjoying life.
I will take the first week completely off, then I’ll have to start working on my papers for Uni. If I do a couple of hours every day, I should be set well before the deadline.
I’m going to miss you, my dear Iza! *hugs*
