Weekend Wrap-up #262 – Busy Bee

Posted 19 January, 2019 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 36 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #262

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

Thank you Belle Brooks!

I purchased a whole bunch of free and $0.99 kindle books this week – and I’m just too lazy to put up pictures of them all, but here’s a list :

Hot Bachelor (All Stars #2) by Katie McCoy, The Pawn by Skye Warren,  My Charming Rival by Lauren Blakely, Saved by Angel Payne, and The Wright Brother by K.A. Linde were free.

Paris (International Guy #1), New York (International Guy #2), Copenhagen (International Guy #3), Milan (International Guy #4), San Fransisco (International Guy #5), Montreal (International Guy #6), London (International Guy #7) and Berlin (International Guy #8) by Audrey Carlan were each $0.99 per book.

The Sunday Post #202 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

This was another busy week! I feel like I need a vacation again already… My exam on Monday went well, and so did my teaching. Now, I’m working on my next exam which will take place on Tuesday. After that, things should calm down a little bit until the end of February at least.

Brandee’s oldest daughter has redone a lot of our headers and we’re both very happy with them. What do you think? We really look married now, don’t we?

Lauren @ Northern Plunder did the A-Z Book Tag this week.

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!

Yes, that would be a busy week with taking an exam and giving one. Nice stack of books you got. I’ve seen those International Guy books and thought they sounded fun. I’ll watch for your thoughts on them. I picked up Butterface by Avery Flynn as a freebie because I really wanted to read that one and I got a Kylie Scott freebie on audio, but that was about it. I still have a huge stack of Christmas reads to get through.
Haha, he does look like he wants to play RIGHT NOW, mom!
Your headers and banners do look great. I’m so glad it worked out that you could blog together.

    Have a restful weekend, Lexxie!

    • Oh, I hope you’ll enjoy Butterface as much as I did! Avery Flynn has some very ‘normal’ heroines, and I love her for it 🙂
I have met Audrey Carlan a few times, and now with those books so cheap, I figured I should also start reading her books 😀
Thanks for stopping by, Sophia 🙂

Nice! Glad the test went well! Hope the same will happen for this week’s test! And those darn squirrels! Always driving the dogs nuts! I’ve watched our dogs watch them as they walk across the telephone line and I’m always praying that he maintains his balance! Bad things have happened in our yard! Lol.

And yay for new reads! So many of them! They’re all totally new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy each and every one of them!

    Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • LOL, now that I have listened to The Iron Druid Chronicles, squirrels make me laugh more than they did before 😀 And Hercules and Freddy hate them! There’s one who’s made his winter pantry somewhere in our yard, so he’s here quite often – driving them bonkers.
      Thanks for stopping by, Jessica.

  3. OMG Nevermore was so good! I loved that book! I’ve got to get so many reviews done. I feel kind of lazy so far this year. Hopefully I will get my act together this weekend! The headers look great! It’s good you guys are settling in together!

  4. I’m glad you made it through the week well and can’t blame you about not doing the covers. I’ve fallen behind on commenting this week, I’m just dragging. I just won’t get to every single Sunday post every week. But I’ve had some other things I really needed to do, also. I also loved Playing for Keeps by Jill Shalvis. Here’s to a better week with amazing reads!

    • I’m glad you don’t miss the covers – it just takes so much time!
I totally understand not having the time to visit absolutely everybody every week… I sometimes have trouble visiting those who stop by here.
I’m so happy you loved Playing for Keeps!

  5. I am a fan of the Wright books. Sibling series are always good for me. I love your headers. It’s awesome to have talented friends.

  6. I’m thinking of trying that Dannika Dark series after seeing some bloggers rave about it.

I hope the squirrel showed back up. 🙂

    • You should definitely try Dannika Dark! All her series are amazing! You should start with the first one so you get a feel for her universe, as all her books and series are set in the same universe…
I haven’t seen the squirrel since then, but the puppies are being very vigilant in their surveillance 😉

  7. I noticed the headers right away. I love them, she did an awesome job! 🙂

I hope things will calm down for you soon. You have been so busy.
You got lots of books this week, I have been so picky lately when it comes to reading.

    LOVE THOSE PUPPIES!!! <3 oxoxo

I hope you have an amazing week, Lexxie! Miss you so very much! We really need to figure a way to get the 4 of us together for a girls weekend or something! We should plan one every year, I am so tired of miss you all! 🙂 <3 oxox

    • *smiles* I’m glad you like the headers! I think she did a fantastic job, too!
Things should calm down after my exam on Tuesday – I can hardly wait!
Meeting up every year would be great! You know I’m coming to the US in August, and I’m very sad you won’t be able to hang out with me. At the same time, it’s not exactly close to where you live, so I totally understand!
      Hugs and love <3

Good luck with your exam! Aren’t those Kindle freebies and 99 cent books addicting? Very dangerous especially with the 99 cents…it adds up. LOL

Have a great week! My Sunday post is here.

You will, of course, love Nevermore. It’s a bit different from the others in the series. I loved the whole thing. I have Be That Girl on pre-order and I’m looking forward to it. I love the look of the blog!! She did a great job. And your dogs are precious as ever! Have a good week Lexxie!

  10. I love those headers – very stylish. And the pics of the dogs are adorable. Glad the exam went well, but I know what you mean about needing a holiday already! Have a great week, Lexxie:)
