2015 Challenge Updates #5

Posted 1 June, 2015 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Challenges, Wrap-up Posts / 4 Comments

It’s the end of another month, and so it’s time to share my challenge updates and see how I’m doing so far. For the most time, I have to say I’m doing pretty well, but I do need to get better in some cases.

New Release Challenge (un)Conventional Bookviews

 2015 New Release Challenge

This is a challenge I’m pretty much rocking – thanks to the fact that I have received and read many e-galleys from both Netgalley and Edelweiss. Here’s a list of New Releases I read and reviewed in May:

  1. Review: Conflicted – Helena Newbury
  2. Review: With a Twist – Sawyer Bennett
  3. Review: Can’t Resist a Cowboy – Elizabeth Otto
  4. Review: How to Plan a Wedding for a Royal Spy – Vanessa Kelly
  5. Review: Nowhere But Here – Katie McGarry

In all, I have read and reviewed 37 new releases in the first five months.

2015 TBR Pile Reading Challenge - (un)Conventional Bookviews

2015 TBR Pile Reading Challenge

I’ve done quite well with this challenge as well, since I own many, many books, I am never able to read them the same year a s I buy them and so the TBR Pile challenge is perfect for me. I read and reviewed the following books from my TBR pile in May:

  1. Review: The Raven Boys – Maggie Stiefvater
  2. Review: The Truth About Alice – Jennifer Mathieu
  3. Review: Archangel’s Shadows – Nalini Singh
  4. Review: First Grave on the Right – Darynda Jones
  5. Review: Faithful – S.A. Wolfe
  6. Review: The Angel – Tiffany Reisz
  7. Review: Born of Fury (The League #7) – Sherrilyn Kenyon
  8. Review: The Prince – Tiffany Reisz
  9. Review: World After – Susan Ee

So far, I have read 38 books towards the TBR Pile Reading Challenge this year.

2015 Reading Assignment Challenge

I am still on track with my four books per month for the 2015 Reading Assignment Challenge as well, and I’m really happy I’m keeping up with it! Of course, the books I read for this challenge also count towards two other challenges, but if you know me at all, you know that I don’t really enjoy deciding in advance what to read… which is exactly what I have to do for this challenge.

  1. Review: The Raven Boys – Maggie Stiefvater
  2. Review: The Angel – Tiffany Reisz
  3. Review: Born of Fury (The League #7) – Sherrilyn Kenyon
  4. Review: World After – Susan Ee

LGBTChallenge2015

2015 LGBT Challenge

Because I challenged myself to read 24 LGBT stories in 2015, I’m right on track once more, as I have read a total of 10 stories that include LGBT characters so far. In May, I only included one new read:

  1. Review: The Prince – Tiffany Reisz

Audiobook Challenge 2015

2015 Audiobook Challenge

This is the one challenge I’m not doing well with at all! I have only listened to one audiobook so far, and even if I’m really enjoying the one I’m listening to right now, I still rather pick up my kindle to read than my phone to listen… I have to speed up my listening!

Bookish Resolution Challenge - (un)Conventional Bookviews

2015 Bookish Resolutions Challenge

I’m doing very well with some of my resolutions, and not so well with others… When it comes to reading books I already own, and also reviewing them, I’m good, however, I am still a smoker, and for the time being it feels like that will still be the case for a while.

In May, I read the following books that are not ARCs, but my own purchases (or gifted to me) :

  1. Review: The Raven Boys – Maggie Stiefvater
  2. Review: With a Twist – Sawyer Bennett
  3. Review: The Truth About Alice – Jennifer Mathieu
  4. Review: Archangel’s Shadows – Nalini Singh
  5. Review: First Grave on the Right – Darynda Jones
  6. Review: The Angel – Tiffany Reisz
  7. Review: Born of Fury (The League #7) – Sherrilyn Kenyon
  8. Review: The Prince – Tiffany Reisz
  9. Review: World After – Susan Ee

How are you doing on your challenges? On schedule? Lagging a little bit? Whatever the case is, I’m sure you’ll be able to finish the year being on top of everything!

  1. Wow, how do you manage to read so many books? Så mange bøker og så liten tid, det passer i allefall til meg. Noen ganger skulle jeg ønske at jeg kunne klone meg selv, så jeg fikk lest alle bøkene i bokhylla..og på ønskelista 😉
