Weekend Wrap-up #345 – Back Home, Lesson Planning and more

Posted 14 August, 2021 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 32 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #345

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

Actress cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-upThe Gathering cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-upWhite Teeth cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-upA Wizard of Earthsea cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-upBeloved cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-upEvery Day is for the Thief cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-upOf Tainted Heart cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-up

I also got a whole lot of books from Kindle Unlimited -because I was somehow able to get 20 books at the same time.

The Sunday Post #274 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

We’re back home from Spain, and it’s really hot now. I have prepared a lot of the coming school year already, even if I still have time. It feels nice to be ready so early. This afternoon, we’re having a few friends over for tapas and drinks, I’m sure it’s going to be really nice.

Glad you had a nice vacation! I’m still trying to get me one of those! Lol. Looks like some authors are touring this fall, so I’m waiting to see what’s going on with those and waiting to see what’s happening with another fall festival. The website says it’s happening in person…but it’s said that since last year. Soooo, I’m still waiting on confirmation before I book a plane ticket! Lol.

Nice new reads! All totally new to me ones. I hope you enjoy them all!

My StS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • It was so nice to get away from home and still feel safe! I hope you’ll get to do some fun book stuff this fall, Jessica, if everyone is masked up, and there are few people inside, it should still be safe, right?
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your Sunday.

A nice haul! I’ve got that Toni Morrison on the wish list. Yay for a safe trip back and school prep well in hand. Ugh on the heat, though. Enjoy your friends and the tapas. 🙂

    Have a good week, Linda!

  3. Aww I hope you guys have a great gettogether! Glad you had a great trip too. 🙂

I read Earthsea I think ages ago. ,

    • I really didn’t think I’d already have so much done for the upcoming school year, but I’m happy that I’ll have my lessons mostly ready as I will also have more admin stuff to do next year 🙂
Ha! Freddy sometimes does that Hercules move, too, I don’t understand how they can sleep that way, but it’s like a total abandon 🙂

  4. I keep hearing that about KU. I know at one point it was only 10 books but I am not sure if it is a glitch or they changed it.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the summer!
    Happy Reading! Miss you! <3

Glad you had a nice vacation. Your plan for this afternoon sounds wonderful! Tapas are delish!

  6. Great to hear you are already well ahead in your planning for your return to work. I have also not long got back off holiday and I have enjoyed catching up with friends, family and jobs I have meaning to get to, but was too busy with work before. Take care, happy reading and try to stay cool. ?

    • I don’t think I’ve been this advanced in my planning ever 🙂
It’s so nice to catch up with friends again! I hope you’ll be able to do the jobs you’ve meant to do – but it’s also important to take advantage of the time off work.

  7. Tapas and drinks sounds like perfection though I’m with Hercules on energy level! Ursula K. LeGuin is on my Authors I Need to Read list. Enjoy your reading and have a wonderful week!

  8. Glad you had a nice trip. I love Kindle Unlimited. There are so many good books on there. Your list of books looks really good especially the Toni Morrison one. I hope you have a great week!

    • Kindle Unlimited is amazing – especially for the romance genre, there are so many books to choose from all the time – and it really helps me to try new to me authors, as I have already paid for the privilege of reading those books through my subscription.

Oh good – I’m glad you get a little time before you head back to school. I’ve been hearing about the insane heat in Europe this summer. I hope you and the pups stay cool! We just had a hot spell for us, but it only lasted 4 days. Now back to breezy and nice.

  10. My husband and I vacationed in Spain in 2010 and loved it so much. Actually, he and his family lived in Madrid in the early ’70s but he was so young, he doesn’t remember it at all. I’m glad you had a good time and were able to get away.

I read and loved A Wizard of Earthsea as a teen but I re-read it a few years ago and didn’t love it as much. It was still good but not as good, if that makes sense. Oh well. Tastes change.

    Enjoy your week!
