Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #305
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
Thank you Harlequin and NetGalley!
I won this from Lola @ Lola’s Reviews – Thank you so much! I look forward to reading it 🙂
The Sunday Post #245 – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
This week was brutal! I have a placement in a middle school for the whole school year as part of my degree, and I have a teacher tutor. We’ve had some problems in the past, but this week things escalated in a weird way. She’s now started to tell me what she wants me to prepare for the next day’s lesson (or even, less than two hours before a lesson) instead of sticking to the planning we’ve done until the end of March. It’s truly exhausting. I’m going to have to meet with the person at Uni who’s responsible for the placements, and with the student councillor so that I can try to find a solution. It’s burning up all of my energy.

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble at work. I hope everything works out in your favor. Happy reading!
I hope it will all work out, too. I don’t know how I’ll deal with this until June if not…
Thanks for stopping by Ashley.
Aww, it’s cute that your dogs like each other. When I had multiple dogs, they usually kept their distance from each other. Sorry about the work problems. That sounds stressful. I hope you have a great week!
I think Freddy really wanted and needed a pal, and Hercules was just two months old when he arrived, so we’re lucky that worked out so well.
Thanks, Aj!
Finding tranquility seems like a good one; cover & title wise anyway, ahaha which is what draws me in xd
Oh no that’s harsh.. asking you to prepare something a mere 2HOURS before the class sounds so wierd & not professional, I hope you can find a solution to make it easier for you!
Awww- that’s such a perfect picture of the pups ❤️❤️
The cover and title does seem appealing, I agree!
I know – it’s not possible at all to work under these circumstances. I hope I’ll be able to find a good solution.
I hope the problems at your work will be solved soon. It does sound really frustrating. Freddy and Hercules look very cute as always. ♥
Thanks Stephanie, I hope so, too!
🙂
Oh that sounds like a headache! I hope you’re able to get something resolving with the uni people.
Nice new reads though! They’re new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them!
My StS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
It really is, Jessica. I hope we’ll find a good solution to this, if not, I’m not sure how I’m going to continue until the end of the school year.
Thanks for stopping by!
Middle school is tough enough without dealing with a difficult colleague. Good luck. I hope it all works out for you
I agree, and thank you, Sam!
Enjoy your books! The Brenda Novak looks good.
Good luck on that challenging placement! I hope you can sort it out.
Have a great week. Here are my Weekly Updates
I hope so, too, Laurel-Rain 🙂 I’m still cautiously optimistic.
Oh yes – do go and see your placement tutor at Uni. That simply isn’t fair – and you’re right, the job is challenging enough without having yet another layer of admin to deal with.
Exactly, no need to try to make it any harder than it already is…
That Freddy/ Hercules pic is priceless! You can’t plan something like that haha! Sorry to hear about the school thing though- hoping it all works out and doesn’t get too difficult. That would be hard to deal with…
I know – they made my heart melt for sure.
I hope it’ll work out, too. Thanks, Greg!
Hey Linda, just checking in from Kimberly’s Sunday Post. I am sorry to hear you having difficulties with your work placement – I really hope you are able to sort it out with your tutor. I also hope you have great books to escape in!
Why on earth would she make you do that?! If you have a plan that gets you through the end of March, changing it so that you have to create stuff on the fly is crazy! Hopefully she will recognize that. I have had a few teachers from uni that I have mentored and I would never make them do something like this.
Sorry to hear that things aren’t working well with your teacher mentor! Hope it gets resolves and there’s lesser stress on you soon.

How frustrating Linda! How is she qualified to be a teacher mentor when she’s basically modeling such horrible teacher practices?! Last minute planning does not produce the best instruction! I’m sorry. I really hope you’re able to find a good solution with your uni!
That picture is priceless!!! Hugs! Miss You!
I hope you’ll enjoy Finding Tranquility :). I look forward to hearing your thoughts once you finish reading. That sounds exhausting working with that teacher tutor who changes the planning so shortly in advance, why would she do that if you already planned till the end of March. I hope you can find a way to resolve it as that really sounds exhausting dealing with that every day. I hope next week is a better one.
It’s unfortunate this colleague is making things so unnecessarily hard! I hope you’re able to get it sorted. The puppies are adorable! 🙂
I’m thrilled to see you loved Wild at Heart because I’ve been hesitant to pick it up since I loved the first one so much. I didn’t want it to ruin my feelings for the original story.
Placements can be really rough when you have someone that isn’t interested in working with you, I hope you are able to negotiate a solution.
Wishing you a great reading week
Unfortunately not everyone is easy to work with or will stick to a plan. Sigh. Good luck!
At least you have some great books and puppies to have in your leisure time. The puppies can even support you when you are working. I enjoy Brenda Novak – that looks like a fun new standalone.
I hope you have a better week! Take a bit of time to relax and read!
Anne – Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
I’m sorry for the work problems Linda. I hope you’ll figure them out soon.
Those puppies look so cute.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Sounds like such a tough situation to be in….hope things get figured out for you. And you have a energizing week!!!
Here’s to finding a happy solution to your problem at work. And the guys do look a heart!
Aw, look at the puppies!
Oh no! Difficult people can zap your energy. I hope they switch you to a better placement! Congrats on winning Finding Tranquility. It’s so much fun to win things 🙂 One Perfect Summer looks good! I hope you enjoy your books! Have a great week Lexxie 🙂
