Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #233
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
Ahem… Not sure how this happened – other than me being rather request-happy, and Edelweiss being very, very cooperative.
Thank you, Tantor Media!
The Sunday Post #183 – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
As I said in my title, spring has definitely sprung! It’s beautiful outside – every single plant is in bloom, the birds are chirping, we see the sun more regularly. And – there is fucking pollen everywhere!! And I can’t stop sneezing. I’m still happy it’s finally spring, though. So I’ll try to keep the complaining to a minimum.

Aimee @ Aimee Always discusses All the Nopes this week 🙂
Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Oh, yes indeed there was some one-clicking going on there. LOL I might have that issue now and then. Broken Promises was one I picked up, too.
We are not quite to the pollen stage of spring, yet, but yes, there are days when the yellow dust covers everything and causes eyes and noses to water, throats to get scratchy, and sneezes galore.
Ahhhh, cute outdoor puppy pictures.
Hopefully the allergies will leave you be next week. 🙂
Everything suddenly bloomed overnight, here. The cherry tree, all the bushes, the plum tree, the neighbor’s walnut tree. So there is definitely a lot of sneezing on my part.
I hope we’ll both enjoy Broken Promises, Sophia 🙂
That’s always the downside with spring. I’ve been fortunate to not have allergies, but spring also means tornado weather for me in the Midwest. You’d think I’d be use to this since I’ve lived here all my life, but not. For whatever reason I get such anxiety over it too when the weather gets bad and acting up. Had storms last night too. How people find them comforting to sleep through is beyond me! It took me awhile to sleep what with the pelting rain, thunder, and lightning lighting up my bedroom window! Despite storms I do like spring because it’s usually nicer weather than summer, though we had a taste of early summer with 80 degree weather one day this week! Our AC had to come on because the house was so stuffy! Lol!
Nice new reads too! All totally new to me ones! I hope you enjoy them all!
Got up early enough to sneak a few blog visits in! 😉 My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I can’t even begin to imagine how scary it must be with tornado season, Jessica! I would be scared, too! I don’t mind a little thunder, but if it gets really windy (and we get nothing close to tornados!), I can’t sleep.

when spring hits, it’s time for steroid nasal sprays. Nothing to sneeze about, and I’m a 2 tablet antihistamine person
I should look into that nasal spray! Antihistamine makes me so very sleepy, so I can only take one at night before I go to bed. I’ll survive, though, and I’ll try to complain as little as possible while doing it 😉
Twitter: BerlsS
Hahaha someone got ARC happy 🙂 I hope you enjoy them all.
Yes, I’ve been sneezing a lot too. But I refuse to complain because spring is SO MUCH BETTER than winter lol! I just love the pictures of Hercules and Freddy – particularly how Freddy is looking to be left alone. Too funny! Someone’s not the puppy anymore 😉
Hope you have a great week Lexxie!! Sending you tons of hugs and love! {{HUGS}}
I agree, I’m very happy spring has finally arrived! I just wish I could get over my allergies 😀
Not clicking on those ARCs didn’t seem to be an option to me. I hope I’ll enjoy them, too.
Have a great weekend, Berls!
PUPPIES!!! So cute. We skipped spring and went right to summer temps, but it supposed to be 50 tomorrow, so maybe we will get some spring. I got Thief of Happy Endings too. I hope we both like it.
Oh wow! That’s weird, no? We have spring temps, more sun and light, and flowers everywhere.
I hope we’ll both enjoy Thief of Happy Endings, too.
Your puppies are so cute. And the weather has turned so lovely lately (though it was a bit grey out today).
I think so, too, Annekieke 🙂 Isn’t it nice to have a bit warmer weather?
Well you sure did pick several ARC’s to read. I do hope you enjoy… I’ve been very good at not buy and not requesting. As always your pup’s are adorable.
I know, right? I just can’t seem to help myself.
Those pictures of Freddy and Hercules are killing me with the cuteness. Especially that first picture of Hercules. Such a little photomodel! 😀 ♥
He sure is – and he loves to strike poses for me when I take my phone out.
That is wonderful that all your request came through, I hope you enjoy them all. Allergies are the worst, I’m not looking forward to them. It is crazy cold and windy here in Colorado, we actually had snow last night… burr.
Freddy and Hercules are adorable. Have a wonderful week.
I am definitely pleased with all the ARCs, thankfully, some of them won’t be released until late this year.
I hope you’ll get some milder weather and spring soon, Jovita.
I also received an ARC of Theif of Happy Endings and am interested to see how it’ll be! Also, OMG, your pups are literally the cutestttt :))
My Stacking the Shelves!
I hope we’ll both enjoy Thief of Happy Endings, Taylor 🙂 I agree, my pups really are the cutest 😀
Wow what a haul, Lexxie! I’m pleased Spring has sprung for you! I wish it would for us. I hope you enjoy your new books!
I did go a little overboard with all the ARCs, but at the same time, they all look so good.
Here’s to getting spring soon, Chrissi.
I am so glad you got Oceanside, I did a countdown blitz for that!! I look forward to reading your reviews of the Illuminae series, as I just a signed set and am greatly looking forward to reading them!! I got to read a few ARC’s first..LOL. Have a great week-and bless you!!
Oceanside was so good, I really enjoyed everything about it. YAY for doing the countdown blitz.
The whole Illuminae Files was amazing, I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I did.
It is gorgeous here, too, although temps are supposed to drop back down next week. I’m definitely ready for spring. When Katie Met Cassidy looks interesting. I’m been debating about that one. Happy reading!
I’m glad you’re having nice weather, Natalie. Even if it’s supposed to drop back down, April is such a fickle month.
It’s funny about When Katie Met Cassidy, because I requested it a long time ago, and got declined. I went in my ‘declined’ books on Edelweiss the other day, and it just said I could download it. I’m very happy that happened, of course, but it’s still weird.
Ooh glad spring has sprung in your area! Here it’s raining and cold and a winter storm warning, so clearly Mother Nature is not done with US yet lol. Love the pics as usual- Hercules hanging on the couch (looks comfy) and Freddie hiding under the table. I have a cat that does that!
Broken Promise looks good!
I hope spring will arrive soon in your neck of the woods, too, Greg. This winter has been brutal.
Freddy does sometimes act a little bit like a cat – he loves to snuggle on my lap, too 😀
Isn’t it nice (and horrible) when NetGalley and/or Edelweiss are super cooperative?? I get into so much trouble with the publishers I am auto-approved by on NetGalley; sometimes I just starting clicking away and BOOM! 10 new ARCs. Happy Reading!
Yes, that’s exactly it. Both nice and horrible. I’m really excited about the books, but at the same time, this is definitely going to put some pressure on my reading schedule.
Lovely books! Good Luck with That is one I want to read. I love Spring…except for the allergies!
Adorable puppies…they’re getting so big!
Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Yeah, there was some controversy with Good Luck with That a while back, some people were upset with the initial summary. I think it looks really good, though.
Freddy reminds me of my cat. She hid on a chair like that. LOL Nice haul. Funny how they all come in at once and you’re confronted with your binging. LOL And yep, pollen everywhere. I’m not sneezing but my eyes are itchy, burning and runny. I’ll take it over winter any day!
Yeah, sometimes Hercules just wants to play, play, play, and Freddy gets a little fed up with it. Now that Hercules has gotten so big, it doesn’t always help to hide up on the chair, though.
Yeah, even with the sneezing and the itching, I’m still so very happy spring has finally arrived. Plus, the pollen season doesn’t last forever 🙂
Looks like you added some great books! I’m a huge Kistan Higgins fan and didn’t see her book up for request, so I’ll be off requesting a copy…
Have a fabulous week!
It was ‘read now’ on Edelweiss – not sure if that’s for everyone or if I just got lucky… I hope you’ll get a copy, too, Tressa.
I grabbed it from NetGalley after they approved my request. Yay! Normally it’s a “read now” for me on Edelweiss if she publishes with Harlequin/MIRA, but this is a different publisher. I’m happy regardless who publishes as long as I get a copy. 🙂
Look at all those new books! I am looking forward to Good Luck With That coming out. Enjoy the nice weather, it felt like Spring here all week but we have a little bit of snow coming tonight, so I guess it was short lived. 😉 FUR-BABIES!!! Adorable!
I’ve been curious about Good Luck With That ever since I first saw it was coming out 🙂
Sorry you’re getting more snow, Jenea. I’m so over the cold, and I’m sure you are, too.
Uggghhh…I hate pollen! It just makes my allergies act up! I hope you get better and have a great weekend!
I’m totally with you on that, Ronyell. Thankfully, my allergies don’t last all summer, I just need to get the hang of it 🙂
So sorry to hear that you are being so very zapped by your hay fever. I used to suffer really badly… temperatures, streaming, swollen eyes, earache, sore throat, constant running nose punctuated with nosebleeds and painful rashes on my fingers that would split and bleed… All through my teens, 20s and 30s – and now I’m a LOT older, I only have slightly itchy eyes and can go out into the garden without feeling like I’m dying. So there is hope that as you get older it will ease down! In the meantime, I hope you soon recover – I recall how miserable it was:(.

Our cherry blossom trees have sprung early so with the other pollen floating around we are now getting it with the blossom trees pollen and it’s like horrible. I can’t breath and it just stinks. My poor son keeps getting nose bleeds and his eyes are itchy. I love spring but good gravy!
You got a lot of awesome books this week, I hope you enjoy them all and those PUPPIES!!! I love them! 🙂
Have a great week, Lexxie! Happy Reading! oxox Miss you! <3 <3
Look at all those new books!! Yay!! My allergies are bad right now too, but not as bad as they will be! Right now, its just tree pollen. When the grass pollen starts, thats when I get really bad!!!
Freddy on the chair is too cute!
Have a great week!
Ugh the pollen but yay for Spring. The puppies are so cute! Enjoy those books!
I love the green grass in your puppy photos! We still have snow here. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books.
Aw sweet puppies. Ahhh yes that’s a bit request happy. LOL Happy reading 🙂
It’s not exactly spring here in England. It was warm the other day but it’s still not very spring like xD hope you have a great week and happy reading 🙂

We had spring for a few days and now we are back to late winter early spring. I’m ready for dry weather. I can’t wait to read your review of Michael’s Wings. I really loved that book.
Oh I hope Spring will come to stay now, Melanie! I’m so sick of the changing weather!
I loved Michael’s Wings, too. My review is extremely vague, though 😀
*hands you a tissue*
There 🙂
It’s finally spring here too. I started to do a thorough cleaning in my apartment. So overdue!
I am happy to see that you loved Oceanside – I just picked the first one up because it’s a freebie!
Have a fabulous week, Lexxie!
P.S. Your fur babies are adorable.
Twitter: avalinahsbooks
Wow, you’ve got loads of new arrivals 🙂 I actually haven’t requested anything in ages, which is a great refreshing feeling.
The doggos are soooo adorable!
And I’m currently reading Obsidio 🙂
Your puppies are adorable as always! And Spring is finally in my city too – it’s amazing and I cannot believe how much I missed the sun and needed it in my life.
You got so many new and lovely books! I only hauled two books this week but I am quite happy with them.
Have a lovely week!
Looks like some great books! Spring has begun here, too. Buds on the trees, flowers blooming, and pollen everywhere. I hope you have a good week!
Ooh, good haul! And I love that first pic of Hercules; he reminds me a little of a dog I knew as a kid. Something about the expression!
Twitter: kimbacaffeinate
You crack me up. I have not been on Edelweiss or NetGalley in ages. Now the offers that come to my inbox are another thing. I’ve been moody with my reads of late so I’ve been avoiding committing. We had signs of spring, but I am not sure those poor plants will know what to do with our current temps. Hope your week ahead is totally fantastic!
Lots of good books this week. Glad Freddy has a good hiding place from Hercules. Those pups will really wear you out.

Spring sprung for us here and then winter came back with a vengeance this weekend, dumping almost a foot of snow on us. So I would gladly take the pollenated allergies as opposed to the annoying white stuff. Looks like you had a great week 🙂 Your little fur buddies are so cute!
Lol, I’m glad Edelweiss is being cooperative for you for I can’t even work out how to ask it to play nicely with me. 🙂
I’m so glad that Spring finally seems to have made an appearance but, like yourself, I hate pollen. Pollen is the devil and I’m already sick of my eyes being all puffy and sticky… 🙁
Aw, your dogs are ADORABLE! I haven’t heard of it until now, but that cover for Love Interrupted really caught my eye. I might need to scooch over to Edelweiss soon…I’m sorry to hear that allergies are giving you hell, though. I’ve dodged their wrath so far, but winter is a long, long way off haha
Hope you have a great week, Lexxie!
I just love your dogs – they are so adorable. Mine loves sleeping on the couch with blankets and pillows. She’s a big fan of nap time. LOL
-Lauren
Looks like you got a nice book haul last week. I am jealous you are having spring. Not so much for us.
Ah, yes. Spring definitely brings allergy season! Hope you recover soon!
Twitter: pback_princess
Lexxie love your furbaby pics I lost mine recently who I’ve had for 14 years so I was devastated to say the least ?
Looking forward to your review of the Illuminae series.
Too right about Edelweiss being cooperative! I’ve been approved for several things lately that I didn’t think I had a chance at. And the pollen here is awful, too. It seems like everyone is walking around sneezing and coughing. And it’s coating the cars and everything in sight. Ugh. I absolutely loved Love and Other Words. I think my review was just several paragraphs of me gushing about it. 🙂
Your fur babies look like they are enjoying spring time weather! It was warmer here but now it is cold again. I am so over cold weather. Enjoy all of your new books, Lexxie!
nlg i stop by to admire ur fur babies every week :’)
im ignoring ur news about EW being good bc i am drownin genough as is lol
Ha! EW took very good care of me last week, and I have enjoyed the books I’ve managed to read already.
I’m glad you stop by to admire my fur babies, they do love the camera and the comments they get 😉
