Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #106
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week, my hungry hearts quote is from Bounty by Kristen Ashley. If you’ve visited lately, you know I’ve been on a huge KA binge, and I just love her Colorado Mountain series.
My Hungry Hearts quote:
“After they were done, they took the two dishes out to random people in the restaurant and made them taste test it. The celebrity made a chocolate pie. The chief made a chocolate hazelnut tart with some special crust and a dollop of some fancy cream. The random people tasted it. Everyone picked the chocolate pie. When they did, Dad said, ‘Like that fuckin’ restaurant. Stupid. Never over-complicate somethin’ that’s good from the start.’ And I knew Dad felt like me. It wasn’t us that didn’t deserve the food because we weren’t connoisseurs. It was the menu that was a mess because it was created by a chef who’d convinced himself he was an artist above everybody, but actually, he had something to prove. All art should be accessible, even if the people consuming it don’t quite get it. At the very least, they should get something out of it. No one is ever above it. If you think that, you’rethe one who doesn’t get it.”
My Hungry Hearts link-up:
Have you ever been to a restaurant where you felt like you didn’t ‘understand’ the food? Isn’t that extremely frustrating? Food is for pleasure, not for showing off!
Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.

Yes! I agree with him in that quote. 🙂 Now I’m craving chocolate.
I love how this quote really conveyed what Justice was all about, Lex. Gosh I just love her. She’s so level-headed, taking people for who they are, and understanding the bounty in her life. *sigh* (I sigh a lot over KA 😉 ) And now, I’d really like some chocolate pie!!
Oh, and I’ve been to 2 restaurants where I felt like I didn’t understand the food. One was with you. Can you guess which one?!? *smooches*
Love you, wifey! {{{BIG HUGS}}}

I want the tart! Dang it, I just might get some this weekend
Bounty was an amazing story, the romance between the hero and heroine was so special that I still think about them <3
I’ll take some chocolate pie. I would even settle for the fancy chocolate torte thing. I do agree with good old Dad about not over complicating things.
Great tease Lexxie… and I know, I need to get me some KA!

I agree with that quote. I’ve had a few meals where I felt the restaurant was trying too hard. Food can be easy and still be good.
