Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #10
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week’s Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote is a treat – reading it made me hungry, and now I want to go to a nice restaurant with some friends! It’s taken from The Stranger You Seek (Keye Street #1) by Kyle Williams.
Diane ordered arugula salad, cure Virginia flounder with watermelon relish, ricotta cavatelli and asparagus cake with lemon gelato. I started with the potato gnocchi, because when it comes to bad carbs, I like doubling up, and moved on to grilled snapper, a salad with Pecorino Romano, fava beans, and young fennel, and a blood orange soufflé for dessert – exactly what I wanted after fake eggs for breakfast, fake potatoes at dinner, and all the Jell-O I could hod at the hospital. I was starved.
Don’t forget to leave the title of your book as well as the author, I might have to add your story to my TBR.
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a terrific Thursday.
Oh my, I´ve just had breakfast, and now I´m hungry again 🙂 Love this meme ♥

Delicious! I think I can eat this for brunch!
Mine for this week is lava chips!
It does sound nice, doesn’t it, Braine? 😉
Asparagus cake!? Watermelon relish!? Fake potatoes!? I’ve never heard of these dishes! Are they real dishes or is the author just having fun? 😛
My characters recently sprinkled crumbled back into their pancake batter! I’d never read or heard of this either, it must be because of I’m Hispanic ha ha! 😀
Asparagus cake is real, for sure! The fake potatoes was because she’d been in the hospital, and she felt like all the food was ‘fake’ rather than ‘real’ food in there.
Crumbles into pancake batter actually sounds good, Claudia!

Haha I love it! Load up on bad carbs – they’re my weakness too. I stay away from them since I’m trying hard to lose weight. But I’m not blessed with a fictional character’s metabolism. Have you noticed that the vast majority can eat what they want?!?
Eh, I’m not blessed with any kind of fast metabolism either, but I do love to eat, so I do that with pleasure. I just try to always make sure I don’t eat too much… And yeah, fictional characters can get away with a lot of eating and drinking with no consequences, Berls…
That made me hungry and it made me laugh. 🙂 I hope this had been a good read. I can’t wait to see your review. I’m sorry i didn’t get mine posted this week. But i would have probably gone with the tortilla soup from Just Like Mom’s. 🙂
I hope you’re having some delicious food and a wonderful time in Spain! 39 days and we’ll be enjoying yummy drinks in Texas. 🙂 *BIG HUGS *
I loved the story, Brandee, my review will be up this week (which is almost a week after you commented here)…
We’re having a great time in Spain! It’s so nice and quiet now, because there aren’t many tourists yet, so we just hang out, catch some sunrays and relax 🙂 *BIG HUGS*
