Review: Texas Kissing – Helena Newbury

Review: Texas Kissing – Helena Newbury

Texas Kissing is both sweet and filled with danger, Lily had been hiding from her mafia-boss uncle for two years, and everything was fine until she met Bull, the sexy, tall, muscular cowboy who saved her from a bull… My Texas Kissing review: Lily had lived a quiet life in her converted buss for the past two years, hardly ever leaving apart from when she needed to meet with her cartel or armsdealer clients who needed a new passport or three. Texas Kissing has quite a bit of suspense, and it was easy to see why Lily was so careful not to be attached to anyone, even if she felt a little lonely at times. At the beginning of the […]

Review: Conflicted – Helena Newbury

Review: Conflicted – Helena Newbury

Conflicted is fast-paced, twisted and filled with both tension, hope and regret. My Conflicted review: Oh wow! Things definitely sped up in Conflicted, and after the wild ride of Seduced, I should have expected just that! Between the very hot sex, having to make sure she kept her secrets, and Luka showing her some vulnerability, Arianna sure had her work cut out for her! It seemed as if pretending she didn’t speak or understand Russian was the most difficult part of her job in this instalment. While I really enjoyed the story, and also the character development in Conflicted, it became more obvious that it’s very strange that Arianna was chosen for this kind of operation. She had no field […]

Review: Seduced – Helena Newbury

Review: Seduced – Helena Newbury

Seduced is a hot little number, with a geeky CIA agent and a charismatic but dangerous Russian arms-dealer. My Seduced review: Thanks to her great knowledge of Russian, Arianna was hired by the CIA straight out of college, and now she spends her days listening to bugged phone conversations made by various criminals that are in the CIA’s sight. Seduced did seduce me, Arianna is the geeky, quiet character who really wants more in life. Still struggling with flash-backs and nightmares after an accident two years prior, she lives with one of her co-workers, and spends all her time at work, or cooking. Luka is a dangerous Russian arms-dealer, and most of his phone conversations are crude phone sex with […]

Review: Dance for Me (Fenbrook Academy #1) – Helena Newbury

Review: Dance for Me (Fenbrook Academy #1) – Helena Newbury

I picked up Dance for Me as soon as I finished my ARC copy of In Harmony, because I loved In Harmony so much I just couldn’t wait to learn more about those who were side characters there. In Dance for me, I got to know Natasha a lot better, as well as the other dancers from Fenbrook Academy. I have to admit I was a little bit disappointed with Dance for Me, though. I didn’t get swept off my feet the same way, and I didn’t feel as close to Natasha as I did to Karen. The writing is very good in Dance for Me, and the story flows across the pages without any hitches, but I wasn’t really […]

Blogtour, Giveaway and Review: In Harmony (Fenbrook Academy #2) – Helena Newbury

*I received a free eARC of In Harmony from IFB Blogtours in exchange of an honest review* In Harmony is a pretty amazing story in several of its aspects. I loved that it focused so much on music, I could almost hear it when Karen and Connor played, and it’s something I’d buy if it existed for real. I really enjoyed Karen, she started out feeling awkward and different from her friends, and she really only had her cello on her mind – which is understandable in some ways. However, when she starts to open up to the world around her, she makes some pretty amazing discoveries. Although In Harmony is the second book in the Fenbrook Academy series, I […]
