Brandee’s Favorite New-to-Me Authors
- Kennedy Ryan – KRyan won me over with Grip. I now have some of her backlist as well as a few new releases to read. 😉
- Emma Scott – Wow! I started with Forever Right Now and then moved on to Full Tilt. This woman can wring the emotions out of you!
- Devney Perry – Tattered was brilliant and I’m looking forward to binging on DPerry in 2020!
- Robin Benway – I don’t read a lot of YA anymore but RBenway made a fan of me with Far from the Tree. So realistic and well-written.
- Kerrigan Byrne – Gah! Why hadn’t I read KByrne before? I loved The Highwayman and intend to read more from this series.
- Taylor Jenkins Reid – One True Loves. ‘Nuff said. If you haven’t read it, do so ASAP. You’re welcome.
- Kevin Hearne – I picked up Hounded because it was an Audible Daily Deal and Kimba had raved about the series. I wish I’d started this one sooner but better late than never. And Luke Daniels is amazing with the narration. 🙂
- Angie Thomas – Again, I don’t read YA much anymore but I’d probably read anything AThomas publishes. The Hate U Give should be required reading…for everyone.

A lot of these authors are new to me and I will have to check them out now. I have come across a few new authors this year from Prime Reading that I gave really enjoyed and I will be on the lookout from more from them.

I read my first Devney Perry book this year too. Letters to Molly. I rated it 3.75 stars rounded to 4. I have at least one more by her in my tbr. Emma Scott was new to me this year-read 3 by her and they were all amazing. Interestingly, none were the two you read. Mine were Five-Minute Life, The Butterfly Project and Sugar and Gold. I’ve only read one Penny Reid but I have several more in my tbr. Someone else that was new to me this year was Kate Stewart. Read The Guy on the Right( or left can never remember) and Drive. So good. I’m going straight to Amazon and check out there Scott books you read. Thanks!
I have not read any of these authors but a few of them are familiar sounding so I have a lot of books to check out for 2020 😀
Looks like you made some discoveries together. I discovered Kerrigan Bryne this year, too.
Brandee – Far From the Tree was my first Benway book, and I went hard on her backlist after that. Her books are amazing!
Linda – How awesome is Penny Reid? I love her smart, nerdy humor. Emma Scott always makes me cry a lot, while Karen McManus is 2 for 2 for me. I cannot believe we are getting TWO new McManus books in 2020. I fell in love with Sharma via My So-Called Bollywood Life, but I loved her adult book too. She sets her books where I live, so it’s like, icing on the cake for me
I love so many of these authors….Devney Perry and Kerrigan Byrne are FANTASTIC!!!
I did read Karen McManus last year with One of Us Is Lying – I’m so excited for One of Us is Next. I have On the Come Up by Angie Thomas to read this month, and then I’ll eventually get to The Hate U Give I’m sure. LOL I still need to read Taylor Jenkins Reid.
