Weekend Wrap-up #324 – Autumn is Finally Here!

Posted 26 September, 2020 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 20 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #323

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

The Sunday Post #253 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

I’ve been quite buy these past few weeks, which is why I haven’t posted anything. Brandee’s been busy, too, so it’s been very quiet here – sorry about that! I’m getting into the rhythm of teaching again, and my students are great this year. It’s so nice to be in school with them again, after the long months with online teaching we had in the spring before the summer vacation.

I’ve been reading quite a bit, and I finished my Can You Read a Series in a Month challenge. I read the whole Stillhouse Lake series by Rachel Caine – including the upcoming book that will be released in March next year.

Autumn has arrived, and I’m ecstatic! It’s cooler, the threes are slowly starting to change color, and it’s just wonderful.

This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Please follow Freddy’s Instagram for pictures, I haven’t been keeping up with pictures, but my kids have, and they post to his IG account directly 🙂

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!

  1. I still need to read the last Stillhouse Lake novel! It’s in my review pile, but I was trying to squeeze in some of my horror novels for the upcoming Halloween season! I’ll be getting to it before the end of the year though!

Ooh nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones. I hope you enjoy them all!

My StS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  2. I have Kristen Ashley’s new one… how I love anything connected to her Chaos/Dream Man series. Now I have to go looking for the A California Christmas & Mistletoe in Paradise (when they release), I’m so addicted to Christmas romance all year long. 🙂

I understand about being so busy that it’s tough to post. Good that you finished your Can You Read a Series in a Month and are enjoying being in the classroom with your students. I want to pick up that new Kristen Ashley, too.

    Have a good week, Linda!

I hear you. Life is getting busier now that I’m back to work and kids are in school. Then on the weekends, it’s a pull between wanting to just relax after a busy week and needed to get things done b/c I can’t during the week. Oh well. Hope the coming week is a good one for you.

  5. I’m loving autumn too. My favorite time of year probably. Glad to hear school is going well also.

Ooh awesome job on the challenge! The Caine series sounds like a lot of fun.

Hope you have a great weekend!

  6. Lovely to hear from you, Linda and great that your enjoying being back working at school. ? I have also been so busy/tired from being back at work too, that I haven’t read or blogged as much as I usually would. Take care and happy reading in the coming week! ?

  7. Sounds like you had a busy few weeks, but that’s nice you’re getting in the teaching rhythm again and can teach in real life again. I also love seeing the trees change. We had some beautiful clear days earlier this week which were lovely, but now it’s back to rainy and cloudy. That’s awesome you read a while series in a month. I didn’t realize you had an Instagram account for Freddy! I’ll make sure to follow it, I can always use more cute dog pictures in my feed there :). I hope you’ll have a good week!

  8. I am happy that you are enjoying your work. Here in Germany some schools are closed again due to some Covid cases and some familes feel as if they are back to the situation earlier this year. Some of us have mixed feelings about it but on the other hand life has to go on. No need to apologize for not posting anything here. Your are not alone with that and I am glad that you are well. Happy reading and stay safe.

  9. This is my favorite time of year. I am looking forward to the cooler weather.
Kim has been doing better than me with the blogging stuff but I am working on it. 🙂
My kids are still doing virtual since around here I don’t feel comfortable sending them back. I will say they are doing really good.

I am glad you finished your series, I saw they are on KU but was thinking of buying them instead. It looks like a story I would like. 🙂

Have a great week, Linda! Happy Reading! Miss your face, a lot! xx

  10. I’m so happy that you’re teaching old-school again! I’ve only been a teacher for 2 years, during my internship, and it was hard, I can’t imagine how much harder it is online. Hopefully there won’t be a need for another lockdown <3 Here in Italy it's been decided that if one person in a school tests positive for Covid that the entire school goes on lockdown, so it's still a rather tense situation. Happy reading and have a wonderful week <3

  11. Yay for finishing your ReadaSeries challenge. I have the ARC for Heartbreak Bay but haven’t read it yet. I like Brenda Novak and Jill Shalvis but tend to get their books on audio. I’m glad school is settling in and hopefully going ok. Cases are still rising in the US; people are so stupid! We just stay home.

  12. It’s a crazy time of year for anyone in education! It’s great that you’re reading though – and impressive on a series in a month. I’ll need to go follow Freddy’s instagram. Not enough nearly enough furry faces on my Instagram feed. Have a great week.

Boy do I understand being busy! I’m glad it’s because school is going well, though! I can imagine how great it must be to be back in the classroom ?. I’m now following Freddy’s Instagram and look forward to puppy pics. Miss you! Tons of hugs ❤️
