Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #49

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.

Today, my Hungry Hearts quote is from The Strongest Steel by Scarlett Cole, it features a very sexy tattoo artist, and a broken, shy girl who wants a tattoo to cover some horrific scars on her back. To thank Trent for his help, Harper brings him pastry. How sweet is that?

My Hungry Hearts quote:

“I didn’t know what you like, so I brought you a bit of everything,” Harper finally managed to get out.
“Seriously, seventeen kinds of thank you,” he mumbled with his mouth stuffed full of the sugary confection. “You didn’t have to do this.” He took another giant bite.
She wondered briefly if his lips would be as soft as the looked. Trent smiled at her as she blushed, immediately embarrassed to be caught staring.
“How are you after last night?”
She looked around, very aware of the number of people in the small space. “Good. I think,” she whispered as she watched him put the last bit of éclair in his mouth before licking the chocolate and cream off his finger. How could a guy look so incredible doing something as terribly mundane as eating?

Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.

  1. I can’t wait to read this, Lexxie! Trent eating pastry is awfully sexy – and pastry brought as a thank you made it that much sweeter! It may sound silly, but I can tell I’m going to like The Strongest Steel just from that excerpt…I could *see* the scene in my head as I read it. Good stuff! 😀

  2. Ooh, yummy! I do love the sound of the pastries…eclairs are delightful. Thanks for sharing…and my offering today is a bit different…a con man meets up with one of his prey.
