Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #146
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week, my Hungry Hearts quote is from Without Merit by Colleen Hoover. This is from the beginning of the story, where Merit is trying to peeve her step-mother, while also giving in to her adorable little brother.
Hungry Hearts link-up:

He always puts his hand flat over his mouth when he’s telling someone a secret, rather than cupping his hand around his mouth. It’s so adorable, we don’t have the heart to tell him we can never understand a word he’s saying. But I don’t have to understand him because I know exactly what he’s asking for.
I wink at him and grab the box of donuts from the top of the refrigerator. There are two left in the box, so I put one in my mouth and walk the other one to Moby. He takes the donut from my hand and immediately craws under the table to eat it. I don’t even have to tell him to go hide from his mother. He already knows that anything that tastes good to him is off-limits to Victoria.
“You realize you’re teaching him to hoard junk food, right?” Utah enters the kitchen in his usual holier-than-thou mood. “If he grows up to be morbidly obese, it’s your fault.”
I disagree with his theory, but I don’t say anything not to come near me with his cheerful sibling affection.
My Hungry Hearts Quote:

Ho-boy! This sounds like exactly the kind of read I expect from CoHo…emotional! I hope to get more of CoHo read this year – Author Luv Challenge – because I kinda failed last year, only reading 1. Anyway, despite the emotion this scene evokes, it’s a good one, wifey.
I hope your Thursday is going well!! *smooches* LOVE & {{{big hugs}}}
