Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #11
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week, my quote is from None of the Above by I. W. Gregorio, and I was so happy there were some yummy food-quotes in this story, because it was quite a tough story to read!
When I straggled into the kitchen for breakfast the next morning, my dad surprised me with freshly made blueberry whole wheat pancakes. Back when she was alive, my mom spent most Sunday mornings volunteering at some church event or another, so brunch was always Dad’s chance to shine. He’d make pancakes from scratch and top them with fresh fruit or stuff them with the ricotta. He became the king of the perfect crepe flip. And his omelets were works of art.
Did you find any yummy food or drink quotes in your recent reads that you can share with us for Thirsty Thursday & Hungry Hearts? Thanks for stopping by today! Have a terrific Thursday.
I don’t like blueberries, but I do like pancakes and your excerpt made me want some now . . . YUM!
You could use any other kind of berries, too, though, Silvia 🙂 And Pancakes are always good – I have used pancakes in several of my quotes already…
Yum! Those pancakes sound delightful! I’m glad there was something to help you through the read, Lexxie. Did you make some blueberry pancakes, or crepes, or omelets after reading?!? 🙂
Happy Thursday, my dear! 34 days?? Or is it 33?? Oh my! Won’t be long now! **BIG HUGS**
Actually, no, I didn’t make any food after reading, but I will try my hand at some blueberry pancakes this weekend 🙂
33 days!!! And time is already flying! *BIG HUGS*

Delicious but that memory will probably sober me up. So much sentimentality, makes me remember my mom’s fave dishes to doom when she was alive.
Oh, yes, food can definitely bring out some memories of things I thought were long-forgotten also! Sometimes a smell can bring me smack into a child-hood memory without any other triggers, Braine.
Mmmm, pancakes for me please 🙂 🙂
Pancakes are just so yummy, right?
Ah, pancakes, I tried making some once and everybody loved it. But here, we’re hung on crêpes and galettes 😉 I would participate in your meme but the last mention of food in my books were :
– food thrown down on the floor to tame a wild dog ;
– herbal pills to cheer up the heroin.
Not very tasty…
Crêpes and galettes are good, too, and I love making waffles as well… so many choices, right?
Uh oh… I hope you’ll find a tasty food or drink quote in one of your reads soon, Iza.
Aw, what a cute quote. This does sound like a tough read, but I’m very curious about it!

Very tough read, but I think it’s also a very necessary story to tell, Lauren 🙂
Such a heartwarming snippet <3 My husband always makes an effort to make pancakes for our kiddos on Saturday mornings; I hope they'll treasure his efforts ha ha!
I’m sure that will be one of their fond childhood memories, Claudia! Those special times are so important 🙂
*sings* I AM SO HUNGRY RIGHT NOW. HUNRYYYY <3
LOL, as long as you don’t want BRAIIIIIINS, that’s OK,Lily 😉
