Review: Sting – Sandra Brown

Review: Sting – Sandra Brown

What a twisty turny mystery Sting was – there was no way for me to guess the who, the why or the how, and so the pages turned fast! It really is difficult to talk about Sting and not give anything away, because the mystery is so multi-layered and the characters kept their cards so very close to the chest. Jordie was in the worst predicament, going to meet with someone – hoping it might be her brother, only to witness a murder and then end up kidnapped. Because the narrator shared little bits of the characters’ story, kind of like the breadcrumbs Hansel and Gretel left behind. Finding the right crumbs and following them in the right direction proved […]

Review: Nobody But You – Jill Shalvis

Review: Nobody But You – Jill Shalvis

WOW – Shalvis has outdone herself with Nobody But You! Jacob and Sophie are such great characters, even if they were both pretty closed off to the world at the beginning of the story. Sweet, tender, sexy, humourous and sometimes a little sad, I couldn’t stop reading, and I loved every moment. I really didn’t think any of the Kincaid siblings would appeal to me more than Hud did, but Jacob managed to steal the first place in my reading heart! Because he was a little bit broken from the war, but also because he was very sensitive and straight-forward, I fell for him even faster than Sophie did! Nobody But You is a beautiful love story, and I have […]

Review: The Royal We – Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan

Review: The Royal We – Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan

The Royal We was a cute story, but the blurred lines between real and fictional royals made it less enjoyable to me… even the timelines were pretty close. My The Royal We review: I’ve been a fan of the fuggirls for a long time, their blog is funny and witty and sometimes quite sarcastic. I was expecting that when I picked up The Royal We, but I only partly got that. I felt like reading one of those darned tabloids at times, and I don’t enjoy tabloids at all. And the tabloids have been a big problem for royalty for a long time. The paparazzi were definitely a big problem for Bex and Nick as well, and it felt like […]

Review: Second Chance Summer – Jill Shalvis

Review: Second Chance Summer – Jill Shalvis

Second Chance Summer is yet another winner from Shalvis! Amazing characters, a great story, and red-hot romance filled with both hope and a little dose of fear. My Second Chance Summer review: Everything that happened in Second Chance Summer appealed to me! I loved the characters, Lily and Aidan are both strong, stubborn people, and the characters surrounding them were well done and complex as well. The story itself was really good, Lily finally got back home to Cedar Ridge ten years after more or less fleeing and leaving everything and everyone she knew behind. And it was definitely easy to understand why she felt the need to leave. Her younger sister, Ashley, had been killed in a climbing accident, […]

Review: Forgotten Sins – Rebecca Zanetti

Review: Forgotten Sins – Rebecca Zanetti

Oh wow! I finally got to read the first Sin Brothers story – after having already read all the others, and I was still surprised by all the twists and turns. And Shane is totally hot!! My Forgotten Sins review: Forgotten Sins explains the back-story for the Dean brothers a little, but I hadn’t really missed that much starting reading the series with book number two. However, I had completely missed Shane’s book, and his story was mostly an enigma to me. I’m happy to say I loved every word of it, both he and Josie were great characters, and for once, I even enjoyed that one of the characters started the story having amnesia! It made the story move […]

Review: A Christmas to Remember – Jill Shalvis et al.

Review: A Christmas to Remember – Jill Shalvis et al.

A Christmas to Remember has five sweet stories about finding love during the Christmas holiday, some really touched my heart. My A Christmas to Remember review: In Jill Shalvis’ Dream a Little Dream, I was swept off my feet! Melissa and Ian already knew each other at the beginning of the story, they had even been friends with benefits for a while, until Ian wanted more. Their history, made their interactions believable, the connection was already there. One of the things I enjoyed the most was the Ian had to save Melissa, and later on, she saved him right back! And their tenderness and chemistry made my heart beat with a steady beat throughout the story that made a very […]

Review: Blind Faith – Rebecca Zanetti

Review: Blind Faith – Rebecca Zanetti

Suspense, romance, a sense of betrayal and maybe an ultimate liberation  – all of these ingredients made Blind Faith an exciting read! My Blind Faith review: The amazing Sin-brothers are sexy. loyal, strong and head-strong. They are also able to kill any target, highly intelligent, and they still have hope for the future even when things seem extremely bleak. Blind Faith follows Nate, and I was very curious about him after reading, and loving, Sweet Revenge. I have found a new love for romantic suspense stories, and Rebecca Zanetti is able to help me when I crave a story filled with action but where there is some romance as well. On top of the writing that drew me in from […]

Review: He’s So Fine – Jill Shalvis

Review: He’s So Fine – Jill Shalvis

At the end of He’s So Fine, I found myself with a silly, cheesy smile of my face, just feeling the happiness of another awesome Lucky Harbor story. My He’s So Fine review: As usual, my visit to Lucky Harbor was utterly satisfying. I loved getting to know both Olivia and Cole better, they both had pretty much a fixed idea about what they wanted about life, and being in a romantic relationship was not part of the plan. He’s So Fine was both sweet and hot, and the tentative relationship that Olivia and Cole were building was heartwarming. I always feel like I’m going to visit with my favorite friends when I read about Lucky Harbor, and He’s So […]

Review: It’s In His Kiss – Jill Shalvis

Review: It’s In His Kiss – Jill Shalvis

*I received a free ARC of It’s In His Kiss from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Hot, sweet and romantic, It’s In His Kiss is an awesome new installment in the Lucky Harbor series. My It’s In His Kiss review: It’s In His Kiss is incredibly sweet and filled with longing. Becca has arrived in Lucky Harbor to try to patch her life back together, and she has quite a few issues she needs to work through. But Sexy Grumpy Surfer aka Sam makes it difficult for Becca to focus, which leads to quite a few funny and hot scenes. As usual, the sense of community in Lucky Harbor reaches out to Becca, […]

Review: Rush – Nyrae Dawn

Review: Rush – Nyrae Dawn

*I received a free ARC of Rush from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review* Rush is a very apt new adult romance about two boys who have been in love for ages, but both of them are scared about coming out. Brandon is afraid he won’t be able to play college football if his team-mates know he’s gay, and Alec has been listening to his dad’s gay-slurs for as long he can remember. Even if they haven’t seen each other in a long time, they are both really attached to each other, and when Charlotte, Alec’s best friend, calls him to let him know Brandon has been seriously hurt in an accident a while […]
