Blogger Wife Chat Review: Home Improvement – Tara Lain

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Home Improvement – Tara Lain

Home Improvement was yet another sweet, hot, and deep story by Ms. Lain, in my opinion. I loved how Gabe and Jerry met. And I loved Ellie even more. What did you think of this one, wifey? OH good golly! I certainly enjoyed this one, wifey! I loved the characters and I appreciated the messages offered, especially the one about being genuine. I’m not sure how Lain does it, but her characters always, always feel so relatable to me. And that’s also something I felt with Home Improvement. Even if they’re all very different from me, I felt connected to them – you know? I know exactly what you’re saying. No, neither of us is a single-dad, gay home improvement […]

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Cowboys Don’t Samba – Tara Lain (@TaraLain @VivianaIzzo)

Blogger Wife Chat Review: Cowboys Don’t Samba – Tara Lain (@TaraLain @VivianaIzzo)

Cowboys Don’t Samba took a little while to take off for me, wifey, but once it did – it really did! What did you think of the beginning of Maury’s story? I have to say TLain pulled me in from the start, wifey. Maybe because I just knew where she was going with Maury’s story. Whatever it was, I enjoyed Maury from the get-go!   As always, Lain managed to bring more to the story than romance and bull-riding! I loved how different Tristao and Maury appeared at the beginning of the story, and especially the rivalry between Tristao’s older brother and Maury. Which stemmed from stereo-typing and preconception in my opinion. Yes! I admired how TLain incorporated the Latino/Mexican […]

Blogger Wife Chat Release Day Review ~ Hidden Powers ~ Tara Lain @TaraLain @ViviannaIzzo

Blogger Wife Chat Release Day Review ~ Hidden Powers ~ Tara Lain @TaraLain @ViviannaIzzo

Hidden Powers wasn’t exactly was I was expecting since I didn’t realize it was YA/NA, but TLain exceeded any other expectations I had by taking on another facet of PNR – younger characters. The result was exciting, entertaining, and suspenseful! I didn’t realize that either, but I really loved that it was! Plus, it was nice to see some familiar characters from the Harker pack! First things first, wifey… This is the start of a new series yet it’s a spinoff of TLain’s Harker series. I haven’t read that series and while I did realize these characters had already been introduced but I never felt lost. And it certainly didn’t take away from my enjoyment of Hidden Powers. I believe […]

New Release Review ~ The Case of the Voracious Vintner ~ Tara Lain

New Release Review ~ The Case of the Voracious Vintner ~ Tara Lain

The Case of the Voracious Vintner proved TLain’s writing prowess as she delivered an entertaining cozy mystery  while also delivering on all the other elements I’ve come to expect from her M/M romances. Highlights: Main Characters Beau Marchand is the epitome of a well-bred Southern gentleman. He’s charming, loyal to family and friends, and would rather live under the misperception he’s a “confirmed bachelor who never met the right lady” than admit to his family he’s gay. That is until he meets Jeremy Aames. Beau and Jeremy met because they’re both vintners who own small wineries. Jeremy is out and proud and although he’s interested in Beau, he thinks Beau is straight. The two of them start spending time together […]

Blogtour Review : Snow Balls – Tara Lain

Blogtour Review : Snow Balls – Tara Lain

Welcome to my stop on the Snow Balls blogtour! Snow Ball was a delightful story, with a lot of light-hearted situations, albeit with some underlying themes like discrimination as well. Story: As always, Lain grabbed hold of my attention and kept it from start to finish! Snow Balls was such a sweet, but still strong story! About how difficult it can be to come out of that closet. And once that happens, all the heartache and pain that come with it. This made the beginning of a new relationship very difficult, as one of the guys was way out, while the other had more or less crawled back in. Characters: JJ was the kind of character I’d like to have […]

Blogtour Review: Cowboys Don’t Ride Unicorns – Tara Lain

Blogtour Review: Cowboys Don’t Ride Unicorns – Tara Lain

Cowboys Don’t Ride Unicorns tackles quite a few pre-conceptions, and it did so with amazing characters! I think Danny and Laurie are my favorites by Lain *sighs* I’m still swooning, they’re so cute! I was such a happy reader with Cowboys Don’t Ride Unicorns. It started with Danny not only winning a bull-rider rodeo, but also saving another bull-rider’s life. I was very happy to see Rand and Kai as well as the kids again, too. I met those characters in Cowboys Don’t Come Out, the first story in this amazing series. Danny was my kind of hero, because while he is tough on the outside, he is all lovely and sensitive on the inside. He wasn’t afraid to show […]

Blogtour Review: Cowboys Don’t Come Out – Tara Lain

Welcome to my stop on the Cowboys Don’t Come Out tour! I just love Tara Lain’s stories, and this one was no different – prepare to be swooned! Cowboys Don’t Come Out is such a sweet and tender story! And Lain managed to bring so many truths into it, while using the characters to move the story along, too. Rand and Kai are both cowboys, and they both think they can’t let anyone know they’re gay – for different reasons. Kai is quite the mystery, and apart from the fact that he works at the stables at the hotel Rand is spending Christmas in Hawaii, it takes a while for both Rand and the readers to get to know him. […]

Blog tour Review: Spell Cat – Tara Lain

Blog tour Review: Spell Cat – Tara Lain

Spell Cat is a light-hearted romance that also deals with some heavier subjects like discrimination and living in hiding. I knew I’d enjoy Spell Cat as soon as I started reading it, because who doesn’t love a history professor who teaches a class on witch craft, and the hot, nerdy physics professor who seemingly falls for him at first sight? Plus, there is a familiar in cat shape, a mystery, and elders who are keeping the truth from the younger witches in New York… Killian and Blaine were great characters, and they weren’t the only ones, either. Spell Cat shows that discriminating based on whether or not people are human, and whether they fall in love with the opposite sex, […]

Blogtour Review: Beauty Inc. – Tara Lain

Blogtour Review: Beauty Inc. – Tara Lain

I absolutely loved Beauty, Inc. – it’s one of the best Beauty and the Beast re-tellings I’ve ever read, and I was immediately swept off my feet by both Belle and Magnus. Tara Lain’s Pennymaker Tales series is truly amazing! I loved spending some time with Belle and Magnus, and Beauty, Inc. was a tale that got me thinking about the fact that we often need to look deeper than what we see at first sight. There is strong friendships and loyalty in this story, and there is family who doesn’t act like family, but friends who do act like family. There are some strong, very smart characters, and some important messages about what is important in life. A great […]

Blogtour Review: Prince of the Playhouse – Tara Lain

Blogtour Review: Prince of the Playhouse – Tara Lain

Prince of the Playhouse exceeded all my expectations, even if they were extremely high! I loved Ru from the first time I met him, and seeing him unfold his wings and soar was beautiful! One of the things I love about Tara Lain’s novels is that even if there are homophobes in the world, there is always one or two people close to the main characters who love them no matter what! Prince of the Playhouse was a wonderful tale, and I enjoyed myself immensly while reading it. Ru is the perfect fashion designer with an amazing vision, and when his long-time crush – Gray Anson, action movie star – is scheduled to play Hamlet at the local Playhouse in […]
